Hello to all the "Hivers" and especially to the community "Haveyoubeenhere"❤️. Today I want to remember with you one of my favorite national trips, where beautiful landscapes, typical sweets and above all the imposing cold that makes this place, therefore, today I will take you to the state "Merida" where you can see some of the most tourist places in this region.

About five years ago I had the opportunity to go to this place thanks to an invitation to a singing festival. As I am a singing musician, I immediately accepted the invitation and organized myself and my mother to travel. We arranged all our luggage, we took a bus from the bus terminal of our city and we went to Merida. It should be noted that I had never been to this city and we knew nothing about directions, therefore, the organization of the event found us a hotel called "Tinjaca" to stay that was very close to the theater where the event would be.

Our first impression was positive because Merida is very similar to our hometown which is "San Cristóbal" Táchira state, therefore, from the first day after the rehearsals of the festival we took some time to get to know the city. In general there are many friendly people, stores, squares, small streets very cozy, however, what I really wanted to know was the famous "cable car" where you can see the different "peaks" or high mountains.

It is worth mentioning that Merida has one of the most important cable cars in the world, since it is considered the highest and the longest of all since it has more than 12.4 kilometers of route and a height of 4,765 meters above sea level. Although I personally could not get on the cable car, our trip was by private car to one of the most famous peaks, the "Eagle" peak. Also, during our trip we visited a well known tourist castle in the region where we had the opportunity to eat a very tasty pea soup because of the cold weather. We also took the opportunity to buy a "Merida" hat to keep warm and take home a souvenir of the experience.

The cold was so strong that even having several sweaters and being locked in the van our hands were freezing, so we had to be doing some kind of game with our hands to keep them at normal temperature. When we got to the top of the mountain the landscape was totally white because of the dense fog, so we wanted to have a hot chocolate in a restaurant nearby. We also bought some typical sweets such as "Strawberries with cream" that I really like, and we were able to enjoy the landscape accompanied by this exquisite dessert.

Finally after breathing fresh air from the Andean mountains it was time to go down again, so before arriving to the city we took advantage of the scenery to take some pictures and hide the cold. In general we missed several places to visit that are icons of tourism in Merida, however, the next day we left with great desire to return later to continue enjoying the Merida atmosphere.

Venezuela has an endless number of places that I would like to visit very soon, so I hope to continue collecting memories and experiences that make me connect more and more with my origin. I hope you liked these landscapes and see you in the next one❤️.

PD. Excuse my English, my native language is Spanish.
