Hey Hive/Steemit!

So if you didn't catch the last couple of posts, we're currently on a journey in Fukuoka that we went on back in May 2017! Neither of us had ever been to that part of Japan before and since there were some cheap flights we decided to go explore a new region together! Here we go!

Last week, we continued onto part 4 of our day-long journey in the Dutch town-inspired theme park called Huis Ten Bosch and ended up in a frozen meat locker!

And we started exploring the replica of the actual Huis Ten Bosch royal palace in The Hague, Netherlands!

It's such a grand-looking building and I was pleasantly surprised to see that we could actually enter the palace! And they were actually having a pretty cool A Midsummer Night's Dream exhibit!

We still had much left to explore of this palace so I had to cut last week's post short but here we go!

27 May 2017. Saturday.

We ended up in this room with some mannequins and flowers! I'm not sure if this is Midsummer-related or if its a permanent exhibit in the palace itself but either way it looks cool!

And I guess people can hold weddings here too, because we saw some advertisements in Japanese for wedding banquets. I'm sure it must be pretty expensive to hold a wedding here though.

There were so many different flowers on display here! It really fit in with the whole Midsummer Night's Dream theme for sure!

Then we came to this very regal-looking room! The patterns on the walls and the gold trimmings definitely screamed royalty.

But even the ceiling had paintings with cherubs! Definitely a European luxury classic. It definitely reminded me of when we visited Versailles in Paris!

Walking along, we came across this very dark room with a solitary painting lighted up. We took a rest on the bench and looked at the painting and after a little while, it actually changed!

I think it responds to the light shining on it but the sky of the painting changed colours! Maybe it's sensitive to blacklight or something but it was still cool to see the scenery of the painting change from day to night.

We ended up back in another dining room of sorts and it really did look like a wedding banquet hall. I wonder how many weddings have been held here. The many flowers in Huis Ten Bosch make for some beautiful wedding photos I'm sure.

Eventually we ended up in the garden of the palace!

Everyone was gathered around here so we waited for a bit and sure enough, there was a light show!

There was also some classical songs that were playing along too, with the lights flashing according to the music and the fountains in the back too! It was so cool!

At the end everything was lit up and it was beautiful! It would've been better with the sky a little darker but I think this was good too, so we could see the hedges and the fountains in the back.

It was so cool to watch the light show! They even played some popular classical songs like from Pirates of the Caribbean!

I tried to get a full picture of the garden with all the lights up but all the other people were in the way, unfortunately. But I tried my best!

As night started to fall, the palace itself was lighted up from the outside and it looked so beautiful!

Even the trees along the path leading up to the palace had lights on them and it was so pretty! Man I'm such a sucker for fairy lights because they make everything look so good!

We started making our way back to the harbour and everything had lights on them! The entire harbour looked so pretty all lighted up at night!

We passed by this Game Museum before we headed to the palace, and since we were here we decided to take a quick peek inside before heading to the tower!

And man it looked so cool! It was kinda like a retro arcade!

But they did have some older consoles on display and it was basically charting the history of consoles!

It reminded me of the video game museum we visited in Finland too but I think Finland had way more stuff since it was an entire building dedicated to retro consoles!

But they actually had working, older retro arcade machines!

But man, some of these games were a real throwback, like Time Crisis and House of the Dead!

But there were some random machines too, I guess to make it more of an arcade.

There were these Batman and Superman statues that were perfectly positioned so it looks like Superman is angy at Batman XD
And I think this is one of the few times I've seen Batman actually smile.?

They even had a cute neko atsume crane machine! But we didn't have much time to

They even had some Mario merch! This building was basically a museum/merch store/arcade, all under one roof! So cool!

They even had Minecraft and Pokemon merch! It was so cool to see! But unfortunately we didn't have much time to look around since it was getting dark and we wanted to go up the tower still.

So we didn't have time to play any of the old arcade machines, but it was still cool to relive those old memories. It really did feel like we were in a different time just looking at all these retro stuff.

After that we made our way to the tower!

But I think we'll cover that in the next post! Tune in next week for the epic conclusion to our Huis Ten Bosch journey!

Thanks so much for reading!
