Datça is a small town and a harbour in Mugla Province in Turkey. It looks like a resort town and is just an hour or hour and a half drive to Marmaris which is a famous tourist destination. You can also take a ferry to visit Bodrum. Datça will never be in the least spot when we're talking about Turkey Holidays. It has everything to make your holiday extra special.
When we were in Tukey, we were never bored. There are loads of places to go to. Like, our hotel is already a great place to stay but exploring the town we were in is a wonderful experience.
We stayed at Dalya Resort and the picture above is the view from our room. How lovely is that to wake every morning in that stunning view? Oh, I love it!
This small town is locals' favourite. And why not? Look what how stunning this place is!
Just stroll
I fell in love with the scenery. With the flowers and plants wherever you go. It's so relaxing and it's beyond beautiful this place is. And if you keep walking you'll be more amaze.
Stroll around the beach
It only takes 5 minutes to walk down the beach from our hotel. Datça beaches are so clear you can see the fish, octopus, and crabs under the water. From rocky parts to fine sands, you just have to find your perfect spot!
Found mine! And the kids found theirs. They started catching fish lol.
Dine on the beach at Datca Restaurant
This is a great place to eat with a view of the beach while enjoying your meal. It's very refreshing and you will surely appreciate it. We dine in a restaurant you call 'Kekik' and I ordered Shrimp Carbonara and Grilled Squid for myself.
The squid is so fresh and tastes like in the Philippines so I appreciate it and am very pleased. Plus the view while eating is 10 out of 10.
It's so good that one day I went by myself and eat away 2 squids without anyone knowing where I was. The best time of my life! Hahaha
Enjoy the harbour view
Tired of walking? Sit and enjoy the view of the harbour. Smell the sea breeze and relax. Make sure you have your sunscreen on!
Freshwater Lake
This is the first place I fell in love with. They have this lake that runs into the sea. Many fishes big and small and a lovely restaurant on the side. And in front is the sea. Many people come here to enjoy the wonderful view, eat, swim and just sunbathe.
Eat Datça Ice Cream
Of course, we are in Datça and Turkish Ice Cream is very famous. One night we went to a local ice cream shop. You call ice cream "Dondurma" in Turkish. And we enjoy it! Look at Tia. Lol. the dessert princess.
Buy souvenirs
There arere plenty of shops and there is where I bought some of our souvenirs.
I bought Mum a clock and also got a dream catcher and a fridge magnet. Souvenir shops are everywhere and loads to choose from. Some prices vary from different shop even for the same thing. I use my bargaining skill and got freebies too!
A night walk
When the sun is out and the sky is dark everything here in Datça turns magical. The water and the shops look different. Far more beautiful and appealing than the daytime.
And just want to include this. Because you will never missed this wherever you are in Turkey.
"The Nazar Boncuk"
(Nazar Boncuğu)
This is the blue evil eye in Turkey. You will notice these blue pendants, eye-shaped, hanging everywhere. You should see that above as it's sold in every souvenir shop.
The belief of the blue eye is to ward off evil spirits by staring back at the world, keeping you safe from harm.
