Hello Hive Family,
Last week, we decided to enjoy yet another late afternoon hike to the mountain in hopes to catch another sunset.
We started off from Еleshnitsa Monastery in Murgash mountain and headed up. It was supposed to be a leisure trip which turned to be a lot more exhausting and engaging than previously expected.
2 thumbs up, we are ready to roll.
The interesting thing about this mountain is that 4x4 оff-road vehicles can overcome all slopes and reach the Peak itself. On our ascend, we took the longer route where there are traces of tyres.
Another interesting moment was that doggy plush. It was left there in the middle of the pathway. I could not help taking a picture. We left it the same way as we found it, naturally.
The terrain started more or less like this. Steep slopes. It wasn´t just ascends but also descends.
We were still far from the mountain and the weather was quite warm and dry.
Some parts of the mountain were also relatively plain of denivelation.
As we were going deeper the deeper, of course the scenery started to change. The ground became wetter.
Also animals started to appear as we went on higher ground with more open spaces.
All-Terrain Vehicle trails.
The sun will be setting soon. We are close to Hut Murgash. The trails are now puddles.
This is the Hut. It is in remodelation and looks pretty good. We will take 10 minute break here for some sugar pump and will head to the peak to check if the clouds would allow us to see the sunset.
We left our backpacks in the hut because it was only 45 minutes till the orange sky. With faster pace, we were close to the top.
We are almost there. This building on the top is Peak Murgash. There are meteorologic stations placed. This peak is known to be the windiest peak in whole Bulgaria.
Still in construction, it was not something spectacular but definitely worth reaching.
The first picture was a selfie and thus the plate is reversed 😆
Let's take a look at the sunset. Unfortunately, the clouds completely obstructed the view. We were only able to see the beautiful orange color and Vitosha mountain in the distance.
Checked the sunset from my sunglasses. It looks a bit darker 😁
We also like outdoor fitness training. There was a bar so we did some quick workout. This is a sunset front lever 😂
And that is me with one-arm salute for all Hiveans 😎
Time to go back.
It is getting darker and darker. There was actually one van that travelled to the top and now is heading back.
Nightly view of Sofia city.
We reached the hut back quite fast.
View from the dining hall. We ate some meat and sour cabbage. Delicious!
We stumbled upon a horse herd on our way back to the monastery. They were freely galloping in the mountain. No fence or restrictions.
We made it safely to the monastery and the car. Yet another amazing adventure filled with a lot of emotions and adrenaline.
Thank you for visiting my blog and I wish you all a great day!
Stay happy, be peaceful!
Namaste
