Tour Towards Turiamo

This weekend I went to visit Turiamo Bay, which is an hour and a half from Maracay-Venezuela my hometown, Maracay is a hot climate but as we go up the mountains the vegetation is abundant and cool in fact you can find fog at the top of the mountain then on the descent you feel the heat for the sea level.

When you start to climb the mountain, you notice a cool climate, but with vegetation coming back to life, where the Bust of Simon Bolivar is shown is the guardhouse of the National Guard to give access to climb the mountain, an anecdote that happened to me was that they saw me taking the picture and this prohibited and stopped us I had to show the pictures I took and say what I wanted them for, thank God did not pass from there, they gave us access and we continued climbing.

The mountain is at the foot of the mountain of the town of Limón, Aragua state, which approximately 4 months ago the river grew so much that it carried away houses and the mountains had landslides, so you can still see some landslides on the road and fallen trees.

Going up towards the road to Ocumare de la Costa, we have the Rancho Grande biological station, which has been abandoned for some time, but there is always a park ranger who takes care of the facilities, it is located in the Henri Piter National Park.

After passing the Biological station we find the sign Welcome to the municipality of Ocumare de la costa de oro, a well worn and old sign, the vegetation is greener thanks to the rivers and streams that are in the area.

This is a military beach because there in the bay is the Turiamo Naval Base, so to pass you must go with someone who has a military card, when you enter they give you a sign to allow you access and enjoy the facilities, also has beach houses where you can stay.

You can observe 2 sunken ships, the first one called Gran Roque was a tugboat and is 12 meters underwater and the second was a cargo ship called Carmen Fabiana, these were sunk by a group of divers after they were already obsolete to create a marine ecosystem in the bay.
