MY OPINION ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA RELATIONSHIPS - (Hivelearners Week 16 E2)

in Blogging Challenge2 years ago (edited)

I like to say that the advent of social media has really brought a lot of good to man. With Social media, people can advertise my business, a blogger can make a post and friends from around the World- people who ordinarily wouldn't see it unless they live near would see it,like, comment and appreciate it.

Social media has fostered relationships and many who do not own shops for business, do not need to pay any more for one. They just use their phone and post their wares for interested people to connect and buy.

MY OPINION
The advantages of social media and it's improvement on lives can not be over emphasized.
On social media, relationship can have it's good side and bad side. On the good side, sharing of ideas among friends, acquaintances and members of a chatroom is possible. I personally have learnt how to trade cryptocurrency and through social media association with crypto traders and investors.

LEARNING/EARNING
Following some social media handles have educated many on some areas they need enlightenment. You can learn programs, how to obtain scholarships, how to start up a business with small money etc from social media and many are making money out of social media.

ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA RELATIONSHIP.

For the purpose of this post, I am going to talk about social media effect on relationship.

ITS THE QUICKEST 😅

Social media is the quickest way of wooing someone to date you. Hahahaha. With your social media handle, you post the finest pictures of yours, finest moments, your best behaviour, your net worth can be published too and if possible "I need a man" can be posted. I am sure many will contact the number you left behind. Hahaha. Try posting it today "I am very rich and need a lady to come spend it". You know you can't handle your comments. Hahahahahaha. Who no like better thing?

On a serious note, I know a couple who met themselves on Facebook, fell in love and got married. The lady even took the man to Canada, although the marriage didn't work out well later. But the guy right now is still in Canada. That's already a goodie he got from social media relationship. Hahaha

ITS THE FAKEST 😂
Contradictory, you say? No. It depends on how you look at it. On relationship, social media can have it's good side and it's bad side. Taking about social media as a fake way of running relationships, that is very correct. People claim what they are not. I once had a friend who always posted her pictures with many adornment with gold jewellery. This got many other of our friends wondering where she works to be able to afford all that. But one day, I met her in a party without any of those beautiful jewellery. I asked if she was being security conscious as a reason for not putting on at least one. It was then she told me that none belonged to her. If she visits a friend, a relative, even a gold shop, she will just borrow it for a few minutes and snap with it. Just imagine. Why live a fake life, whom are you in competition with? I tried to advise her to be herself, but she was bent on fitting in because that's what the World needs now. She called it "packaging". Well, nothing bad to package but all the lies are to what end? Who even cares to know what you have? For me, it's best to live simple life, like you can't afford bread until people on their own finds out that you own a bakery. That's not being fake, but it's being modest. I need real people in my life not those who hide who they are. I love like-minded people.

Same goes with relationship. Some men pose as women, some old women pose as younger girls, yahoo boys profess fake love just to get money from an innocent woman they call maga or mugu.

IT IS ADDICTIVE

People find it difficult to hold offline face-to-face conversation with friends now. They are always online playing with their new found friend. It is bad to the extent that some chat while working in the road.

Without making excuses for them, If you are in love with someone on social media, what else would you be doing with your phone, other than chatting, giggling, posting pictures and basking in the euphoria? You definitely want to hear from him/her every minute and if he hasn't replied, you can't cope. But you would have, if it was real life. You know you have seen him today and can't see him until two days time, next week or so. Hahaha. How did we even manage distant relationships without phone? I sent letters of my concern and no reply will be received until after 2-3weeks. Hahaha. I am upset, he sends an apology letter and it won't get to me until after one and half months, should I stay resentful? Hahahahaha. This generation relationship will not have that, would they? Hahahaha

NO PRIVACY.
Snap a picture with a guy and post it on social media. Before you know it, many likes, comments and people have already helped to spread the news of your wedding. They don't know if you both are lost but found cousins or have become new artistes recruited into the entertainment industry, making a photoshoot for a movie. Hahahaha

Many marriages have their problems, but when one celebrity gets scolded by her husband, the World will hear, some bloggers will blow it out of proportion that you even begin to take sides with one spouse over the other. We should blame who posted it in the first place. Right? 😂

ITS THE MOST FLAUNTED AND EXAGGERATED

This is the part I hate most. People get too showy on social media about their relationship. After seeing some relationships on social media, if you don't have one going for you, you will be left, sad. Hahahaha
They seek and attract unnecessary attention to themselves and before they know it, things become out of hand.
If a man proposes to his girlfriend in a very romantic way and in an amazing, serene environment, it is posted on social media.
If he buys a car for her, it is posted. When they are eating good meals, it is posted.
When she is pregnant and just delivers a baby, little baby is already posted on the internet. When a person travels abroad for vacation, it is posted. Making a showy display of ones means of life is very common on the social media.

IT IS THE MOST RISKY
Falling in love on social media with someone you barely know, is risky. Some fall in love on social media and keep the flow, what if the man makes arrangement to meet the lady in real life, tells her the hotel to meet him up, only to be in the nest of kidnappers and ritualists?

Some have fallen in love on social media and finally found happiness ever after but I still believe that the best kind of relationship should be with someone you know. Someone who becomes a friend before being a lover.

Social media has really changed things. On this relationship case, these are my few reservations that I just commented out in response to hivelearners contest week 16 edition 2, no. 3 issue. Hahaha. What's your view of social media relationship? Let's hear from you.

Thanks for coming around.

Yours,

Being a single it should be illegal for me to read and Get jealous

Though I'm a social media relationship type person, can talk online but never in person

It is the quickest truly said, saw my all friends getting into a relationship but not quickest for me i said never :( too unlucky in this matter.

But deep down not ready to take the risk as you said i don't want to get kidnapped when she ask me for a date and send me location

I better focus on my career and life instead.

Haha Enjoyed a lot while reading, thanks for sharing.

Hahaha, thanks for reading. You might be fortunate to get one online and it will work. However, while focusing on your career, you can also get one in class. No one knows where your right spouse will come from. Provided it is the one that makes you happy. All the best, thanks again
