En estos días estábamos reunidos como familia, llamamos a mi hija por videollamada y estuvimos compartiendo un buen rato mis tres hijos, mi nieto y yo, nos pusimos a parlotear de comida, y empezaron a decirme: “Ay Mamá, la comida que haces que nos gusta es el plato navideño”, y por ahí nos fuimos conversando y conversando.
Llegada la noche, me comenzó a resonar esa frase que me dijeron que el plato de comida que hago y les gusta es el navideño, resulta que no es la primera vez que me lo hacen saber, pues eso me lleva a la reflexión y hacerme la siguiente pregunta: ¿y las demás comidas del año qué? ja, ja, ja. Que les encanta como me quedan las hallacas, pernil y ensalada de gallina, que se les hace agua la boca con solo recordarlo, pero nunca me dicen nada de los demás platos de todo el año, es decir, que entonces para ellos no cocino más nada bien al paladar de ellos, ¡qué esperanza! También ese día que conversábamos salió a relucir la torta negra, según ellos, no han comido torta negra más exquisita que la mía, ja, ja, ja, ¿Será que me pasa como dicen las películas románticas de Navidad: “eso es por la magia de la Navidad”?, es decir, que para realizar otro plato de comida la magia de la sazón se me pierde del mapa, ¡Qué esperanza!, ja, ja, ja, si yo tuviera el autoestima baja, pues, gracias a mis hijos por ese comentario me llegaría el autoestima al subsuelo.

No sé cómo estarán haciendo ellas actualmente, porque ahora cada una le toca cocinar, una a su esposo e hijo y la otra a ella misma en medio de su vida independiente, ja, ja, ja.
¿Será que estarán satisfechas de sus platos de comida? ¿O no quedan conforme? No todo el que cocine o tenga la intención de hacerlo le quedará todo bien, cada quien tiene un paladar distinto a los demás, los gustos nunca serán igual, lo que a una persona le puede parecer exquisito a otro le puede parecer horrible. Hay personas que le gusta los espaguetis y a otros no, sino que prefieren el arroz y así sucesivamente.
Personas que están tan acostumbradas a comer cualquier cosa que puedan hacer, algo sencillo, que cuando comen algún plato fuera de lo común, le parecerá maluco, será como decir: lo ordinario se te sale por los poros, ja, ja, ja. Otros que son capaz de comer piedras y todo le parece bueno, como que el paladar lo tienen neutralizado, ja, ja, ja, es decir, a este tipo de personas no se le puede pedir la opinión de que nos diga qué tal le parece algo que estamos cocinando porque todo le parece bien, hay que pedirles opinión a los buenos catadores, tampoco a los criticones porque nos desmoralizarán.
Recordar eso que me decían mis hijos de mi comida Navideña me ha dado mucha risa, de hecho pasé todo el día riéndome sola en la casa, ja, ja, ja, los muchachos si tienen ocurrencias y a veces no sabían cómo expresar sus ideas, pero ya una de mis hijas es mamá y ya sabe a lo que sabe el mambo, ja, ja, ja, ya debe de saber a todas las situaciones que debemos enfrentarnos como madres en la cocina, muchas veces hacer magia para poder preparar algo sabroso que pueda gustarles de manera generalizada a todos los presentes.
Cocinar no es fácil y menos si no te gusta o nadie te enseñó, pero sí pudiéramos convertir ese momento en algún instante divertido y no desagradable. Hay personas que detestan la cocina, si pueden pasarle el gallo muerto a otro para que cocine, pues de verdad, que lo harán.

Mi moraleja a esto es que vivir en familia a veces nos cuesta elogiarnos, porque hay confianza entre nosotros mismos y pareciera que todo está sobre entendido, pues no es así, es importante decirles a nuestros hijos, padres, hermanos y otros familiares, lo bueno que tienen, sus cualidades, sus dotes, felicitarles por las cosas buenas, animarles, decirles que le amamos, no resaltar siempre lo malo, peleando, criticándoles, atacándoles, es bueno que se sientan amados y apoyados, ser detallista con ellos, estar pendientes de cómo se sienten, cómo les fue. Estamos tan sumergidos en la rutina y cotidianidad, que nos olvidamos de lo más importante que es amarnos.
No estoy diciendo que mis hijos sean malos, ni que yo cocine mal, o que el plato navideño es lo único bueno que cocino, ja, ja, ja, tampoco me han dicho que mis otras comidas no le gusten, solo que toca resaltarnos con más frecuencias las cosas buenas, uno nunca sabe cuanta falta le hace a la otra persona escuchar que tiene algo bueno.

Menos mal que en mi hogar no se forman "casos de familia", pero bueno de verdad cocino con mucho amor, pero parece que en el sabor no se nota ja,ja,ja. La que está en Chile me dice: mami cuántos años llevas cocinando? Menos mal que mis yernos cocinan buenisimooooooo. Hacen unos pastichos que casi peco, unas salsas para los espaguetis y otros platillos deliciosos. Gracias por pasar amiguita linda @kat-nee. Cooking for people is indeed not an easy deal, like you said our palates are different and we taste things differently. I have this uncle, I think his taste buds have a problem because even when you cook and everyone says the seasonings is Ok and the food taste nice , he would always say he can't taste salt or other seasoning in the food. We always give him extra salt and seasoning to put in his own meal.
I had to talk about him because if you ask someone like him to taste your meal, his reply may just make you feel that you're not good enough and you may have a low self esteem. but you won't know that he has a problem and not you.
