Issue #1 - The first issue review and explanation of what I'm doing here.
Issue #2 - The set up continues.
Issue #3 - Prison break.
The story so far: Red Monika more or less successfully completed her prison break. However it caused potential war scares with neighboring cities and released a group of super powerful criminals. Gully, Knolan, and Calibretto ran into Garrison on the way to see King Vaneer.
Issue three picks up at an outpost on high alert. With the escaped prisoners and war tensions the soldiers are on guard and ready for action, led by their captain but doomed by an idiot soldier. A half naked lady shows up so he runs out thinking she is a damsel in distress. Turns out she is Bulgrim's vessel. Bulgrim slaughters everyone except the idiot soldier who hides. Not for long however as Brass Demur finds and kills him.
Turns out there are four prisoners working together. Led by Brass Demur. They plan to attack the city unless the King gives up the one that imprisoned them all. One of them does not want to do it but Brass Demur kills him too.
The tiny, big headed mage goes ahead and tries to strike the deal with the King. Since it is Garrison they are after and Garrison is no longer with the King, no deal is struck. It is not long after that the mage starts attacking the city.
Meanwhile, the meeting between Garrison and the others did not go super well. Gully cries a bit and acts like a child might since Garrison didn't help her Father.
They part ways and Garrison visits the grave of his wife. Maestro finds him and after a bit of back and forth, reveals Garrison's sword and destiny.
Knolan, Calibretto, and Gully arrive at the city only to find it being destroyed. Knolan does not want to fight but Gully guilts him into it. He tells Calibretto to hide with her and goes off to deal with the big head mage. After a few blasts and an attempt to imprison him, the mage stops Knolan's heart.
Calibretto cannot control Gully as she wants to help everyone. In doing so she stumbles across a woman that is hiding... she looks familiar because it turns out to be Bulgrim's vessel!
Meanwhile Garrison is gearing up like he may swoop in to save the day.
This brings us to the end of another issue. It ended on quite the downer with Knolan's heart stopped and Bulgrim about to attack Gully. Things do not look so great for our heroes. This was a very action packed issue. We get insight into the prisoners and Garrison gets motivated. Can Garrison make it in time to help out? Or is Knolan, Calibretto and Gully just going to have to overcome their opponents? I don't know but it is getting pretty exciting!
