Де ще полежати-позасмагати на початку робочого тижня, як не під будівлею мерії?:)
Щороку в Києві збільшується кількість велосипедистів - все більше людей обирають цей екологічний і дешевий та зручний в експлуатації транспорт, як для дозвілля, так і для щоденного ком'ютингу (переміщення на роботу, з роботи і т.д). Це підтверджується підрахунками велосипедистів, які проводить U-cycle - одна з громадських організацій, що займається промоцією і адвокацією велосипеду в місті.
Але, на жаль, на нас, двоколісних, очікують численні небезпеки на дорогах нашого міста. Все більше і більше трапляється ДТП - і регулярно травмуються та гинуть люди. Основна провина за це - на київській владі, котра не робить НІЧОГО для покращення велоінфраструктури. Точніше, займається окозамилюванням - багато обіцянок, зовсім трішки велодоріжок (котрі не завжди придатні для використання), ігнор вимог велоспільноти...
Нас це все задовбало, тому велоспільнота провела протестну акцію біля Київради - це т.зв. "лежачий протест". Велосипедисти, котрі лежать біля входу в КМДА, нагадують чиновникам і всім киянам, що досить вже смертей і каліцтв на дорогах. Нам потрібна безпечна велоінфраструктура!

Today, cycling community of Kyiv gathered near the building of City hall to participate in protest.
We demand safe (and developed enough) bicycle infrastructure in our city. The authorities are doing absolutely nothing to stop traffic casualties with cyclists involved. There are almost no bike lanes and pathes, cyclist have to ride on dangerous roads, the speed control is missing (or not enough effective).
When we lie on the ground, the message is "every cyclist can be a traffic incident victim". Change the conditions for our everyday cycling immediately!

Hey @boga4, I found your blog today from playing CBM.
Indeed, I remember saving my life many, many times when cycling through cities.
I experienced Vienna as a city with lots of bike lanes and even separated bike roads.
One time I saw a car bumper sticker from Oregon that stated something like: "Thanks for relieving traffic by riding your bike." From then on I realized, when conducting a car, how it is priceless to keep space for cyclists - i.e. at traffic lights or in jams - even though there is no road marking. And even road markings are crap often times, because they are to narrow for careless-drivers to recognize.
Best strategy I experience for a save drive is being anti-aggressive and talking to people - if they are open to listen. Anyway, take care!
