Вітаю Вас зі святом Соборності. 22 січня 1919 року із Софійського майдану пролунали такі важливі та доленосні слова про возз’єднання України. Це була запорука всеєдності та відповідальності одне перед одним.

I congratulate you on the Feast of the Congregation. On January 22, 1919, such important and fateful words about the reunification of Ukraine were heard from Sofia Maidan. It was a pledge of unity and responsibility to each other.
Протягом багатьох років після буремних подій, в яких опинилася наша держава, та після поневолення росією нас намагалися переконати, що ми різні. Є людина радянська – це схід і є бандеровці – захід. З такою нікчемною політикою та прищепленням понять різності і роздільності виросло не одне покоління. Чому там – на Західній Україні всі вороги та всі “не такі” багато і сказати не міг. Просто так говорили в школах, в родинах, по телевізору. Особисто я смутно пам’ятаю передвиборчі перегони в далеких 90-х, коли за пост президента боролися Кравчук та Чорновіл. Мої батьки голосували за Кравчука, бо Чорновіл – бандеровець. Ось так вважало більшість. Зараз соромно за такі слова і боляче за неправильний вибір.
For many years, after the stormy events in which our state found itself, and after the enslavement by russia, they tried to convince us that we are different. There is a Soviet person - this is the East, and there are people from Bandera - the West. More than one generation grew up with such worthless politics and the inculcation of concepts of difference and separation. Why there - in Western Ukraine, all the enemies and all the "not so" are many and could not say. That's just what they said in schools, in families, on TV. Personally, I vaguely remember the election races in the distant 90s, when Kravchuk and Chornovil fought for the post of president. My parents voted for Kravchuk, because Chornovil is from Bandera. This is what the majority thought. Now I am ashamed for such words and it hurts for the wrong choice.
На сході України ще до не давна була взагалі абсурдна ситуація. Корінні жителі Донбасу вважали себе вищими за інших, предметом їх гордості була здатність виживати: в тяжких екологічних умовах, в тяжкій праці, в своєму переконанні, що вони “годують” всю країну. Лише одна фраза, яку кинула екскурсовод одного музею в Донецькій області, характеризувала їх ставлення до інших регіонів, а особливо до західних областей України. “Це були дуже поважні та працьовиті люди, хоч і западенці…” – ось таке виключення з правил трапилося на Донеччині, на думку цієї жінки, яка є працівником культури, а тому повинна б мати більш ширші погляди та неупереджену думку освідчено людини.
In the east of Ukraine, not so long ago, there was a completely absurd situation. The native inhabitants of Donbas considered themselves superior to others, their pride was the ability to survive: in difficult environmental conditions, in hard work, in their belief that they "feed" the whole country. Only one phrase, thrown by the tour guide of a museum in the Donetsk region, characterized their attitude to other regions, and especially to the western regions of Ukraine. "They were very respectable and hardworking people, even though they were Westerners..." - this is the exception to the rules that happened in Donetsk region, according to this woman, who is a cultural worker, and therefore should have broader views and an unbiased opinion of a certified person.
Війна 2022 року зрівняла всіх. Це моя думка. І саме так – не АТО 2014 року, а саме 24 лютого 2022 вся країна возз’єдналася заради перемоги. Нарешті ми почали розуміти, що немає западенців та східнян, а є ми – українці. Жодна політика, жодна пропаганда та цькування не змогли відняти в нас почуття єдності, розуміння спільного походження та лишити глибини спільного коріння.
Великі потрясіння приводять до великих звершень. Точка відліку, яка зруйнувала старий міф, побудований колись заради знищення України, вже лишилася в минулому. Нині ми вільні від гніту радянських стереотипів і починаємо будувати власну долю, спираючись на історію, культуру та досвід нашої тисячолітньої України.
Вірю у скору перемогу та у світле майбутнє для всієї нації, яка обрала свій шлях та виборола право на нього власною кров’ю.
The war of 2022 leveled everyone. It is my opinion. And just like that - not the ATO in 2014, but on February 24, 2022, the whole country reunited for the sake of victory. Finally, we began to understand that there are no Westerners and Easterners, but we are Ukrainians. No politics, no propaganda and harassment could take away from us the feeling of unity, the understanding of common origin and leave the depth of common roots.
Great upheavals lead to great accomplishments. The reference point that destroyed the old myth, once built for the destruction of Ukraine, has already remained in the past. Today, we are free from the oppression of Soviet stereotypes and are starting to build our own destiny, based on the history, culture and experience of our thousand-year-old Ukraine.
I believe in a quick victory and a bright future for the entire nation, which chose its path and won the right to it with its own blood.
Нам (і перш за все Донеччині) розказували, що "Донбас кормит всю Украину", але весь цей час то була брехня! Бо це була дотаційна область.
