I was feeling happy today after a long time. There were no reasons, I was feeling good and so light like a feather. Tomorrow is my day off so probably that's why I was feeling relaxed after 5 days of hard work. But the happiness didn't last long. Anyway, I didn't follow the recent news about the Ukraine war, I have stayed away from all the news. I feel stressed whenever I read the news, I don't know why. But today in this evening I have got some news about my apartment. Nothing good; in fact upcoming winter will be one the worst winter for Kharkiv city. The heating system is not working in my apartment in fact the whole building is suffering without heat and electricity. Nobody knows when the heating system will start working, in fact, the management company of the apartment sent us a notice describing the issue.
I wish I could write more about the situation but after reading the details, I think the heating system will not work in my apartment. Besides, I am not living there now, so I will try to do what needs to be done.
My current life situation is a little bit complicated but I am trying to figure everything out slowly. Sometimes I feel disappointed seeing my life situations but, to be honest, I am grateful. Because if I was in Kharkiv now, I don't know how I would have survived alone with a dog without electricity and heating there in this cold winter.
I started having the thought that the more I am moving toward the future, the more my life is getting complicated. I slowly started learning about Dutch Culture and I am sure I will not be able to adjust to the culture so easily. For me, it is very challenging and complicated. Work-life is the same but I am happy that my contract is going to finish soon.
After getting the information about the heating system, I decided to check the news about the Ukraine war and I felt disappointed. According to the latest news,100 missiles attack happened in Ukrainian cities which are considered mass attacks in Ukraine. People are hiding in the shelters again. Now I think going back to Ukraine now is a bizarre thought. I will never survive alone in Kharkiv in such a condition if I go back now or soon.
Anyway, I decided to share some moments with you of my Ukraine life.
When Gigi was 4-5 months old, this photo was taken. I clearly remember it was autumn afternoon, I went out for a nice walk with her. Gigi was so young, baby girl.
The location of these photos is called "Strilka Square", Kharkiv which is known as the most romantic square in Kharkiv city. It was the beginning of spring and I went there to spend time near the Lopan and Kharkiv Rivers. I made a vlog about this location as well before.
Taraz Shevchenko Park was my go-to place. I used to go there every week with friends and used to spend time there. I have so many memories there, I have spent most of my Christmas eve and new years eve here.
The current picture of this park is completely different, the mass attack destroyed 80% of this park.
My Summer and autumn were all about countryside trips and buying fresh strawberries from the farmers. I have made many road trips in suburban areas and villages of the Kharkiv oblast.
Sometime in the middle of nowhere and suddenly, I have found large hay bales.
Regular walk within my neighborhood area...
Gigi's favorite place: She used to spend her entire time here, looking outside...
I will miss this cold snowy white winter though I used to complain about it a lot...
Night walk at Constitution Square though these old buildings are destroyed now due to missile attack.
Many people are still in Kharkiv, I don't know how they are surviving there...
I am still determined to go back to Kharkiv, going back to my home. I just don't know when. The war seems never-ending...

You have nice photos of memories. I'm sorry to hear that the war situation is getting worse, it was really good that you got out of there when you did, I don't think I could survive there either, it's a winter with no heating and occasional shelling, for sure I would end up dead before the spring.
Hopefully everything ends soon, and the reconstruction can begin.

I hope so too but the future is still unpredictable. Only citizens are suffering there... In Ukraine, winter is really very harsh...
