Пам'ятаю, як ще малим в СРСР дивився новини по центральному телебаченню, де розказували про злиденне життя європейських країн і голодних дітей. Після перегляду таких новин радянська людина мала поспівчувати жахливому життю в інших, насправді заможних країнах світу, та дякувати долі, що вона народилась в радянському союзі. І якщо в радянському союзі ще не було інтернету та супутникового телебачення, щоб дізнатись правдиві новини - в сучасному світі таких можливостей вдосталь.
I remember when I was still a child in the USSR, I watched the news on central television, where they told about the poverty-stricken life of European countries and hungry children. After watching such news, a Soviet person should sympathize with the terrible life in other, actually prosperous countries of the world, and thank fate that he was born in the Soviet Union. And if in the Soviet Union there was no Internet and satellite television to find out true news - in the modern world there are plenty of such opportunities.

Але дивлячись на сьогоднішню росію, я бачу радянський союз свого дитинства. Населенню цілодобово показують спотворену реальність, в якій "добра" і "миролюбива" росія бореться з "нацистською" Україною та країнами-"агресорами" блоку НАТО. І саме жахливе, що маючи можливість дізнатись правду через інтернет або ефір супутникового телебачення - росіяни просто хочуть вірити в нав'язану їм реальність. Їм просто страшно усвідомити, наскільки далеко все зайшло і скільки насправді страшних військових злочинів чинять російські солдати, намагаючись підкорити український народ. Але прийде час усвідомлення та каяття, але можливо, вже буде пізно і не буде можливості втікти через лінію вже нової Берлінської стіни, яка обов'язково з'явиться між Україною, Європою та росією.
But looking at today's russia, I see the Soviet Union of my childhood. The population is shown a distorted reality around the clock, in which "good" and "peace-loving" russia is fighting with "Nazi" Ukraine and the "aggressor" countries of the NATO bloc. And the most terrible thing is that, having the opportunity to find out the truth through the Internet or satellite television, russians simply want to believe in the reality imposed on them. They are simply afraid to realize how far everything has gone and how many truly terrible war crimes russian soldiers are committing, trying to subjugate the Ukrainian people. But the time of realization and repentance will come, but perhaps it will be too late and there will be no opportunity to escape through the line of the new "Berlin Wall", which will certainly appear between Ukraine, Europe and russia.
