Вітаємо всіх тих, хто святкує Святий вечір за Григоріанським річним календарем. Саме за цим календарем завжди святкували Різдво українці, аж до 1929 року. Потім був період тотальної заборони всіх християнських свят радянською владою, а після невеликого послаблення заборони, святкувати було вирішено за Юліанським календарем.
До цього свята найбільше готувалися діти та молодь, щоб з першою зорею на Святий вечір почати обходити хати з колядками. Тільки подивіться, скільки колядницьких ватаг могло бути в одному селі, як на цій світлині початку ХХ ст. з Чернігівського Полісся. Кожна колядницька зоря - це окремий колядницький гурт.

Congratulations to all those who celebrate Holy Eve according to the Gregorian annual calendar. Ukrainians always celebrated Christmas according to this calendar, until 1929. Then there was a period of a total ban on all Christian holidays by the Soviet authorities, and after a slight relaxation of the ban, it was allowed to celebrate according to the Julian calendar.
Children and young people prepared the most for this holiday, so that with the first dawn on the Holy evening they would start going round the houses with carols. Each carol star in the hands is a separate carol band.
