Українська полярна станція "Академік Вернадський" напередодні повномасштабного вторгнення росії в Україну прийняла чергову експедицію науковців. Причому саме цього разу вперше за останні 20 років наші вчені вирушили до Антарктики на власному криголамі. Його було придбано напередодні 30-річчя Незалежності України в установи «Дослідження та інновації» Великої Британії (куди входить Британська антарктична служба). Даний криголам - це колишній флагман королівського наукового флоту Великої Британії “James Clark Ross” (Джеймс Кларк Росс). 29 жовтня 2021 року цей корабель було урочисто перейменовано, нова його назва 'Ноосфера' логічно доповнює назву української антарктичної станції 'Академік Вернадський'. Адже термін 'ноосфера' використовувався у наукових працях Володимира Вернадського.
Отже, 28 січня 2022 року екіпаж криголаму (26 фахівців) вирушили з Одеси до Антарктиди. Успішно виконавши ротацію українських та польських полярників, через війну 'Ноосфера' не могла повернутися в Україну. Зараз судно готується до нового антарктичного сезону в порту Кейптауна, ПАР.
On the eve of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian polar station "Akademik Vernadskyi" hosted another expedition of scientists. And this time, for the first time in the last 20 years, our scientists went to the Antarctic on their own icebreaker. It was purchased on the eve of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence from the Research and Innovation Institute of Great Britain (which includes the British Antarctic Survey). This icebreaker is the former flagship of the Royal Scientific Fleet of Great Britain "James Clark Ross". On October 29, 2021, this ship was solemnly renamed, its new name "Noosphere" logically complements the name of the Ukrainian Antarctic station "Akademik Vernadskyi". After all, the term "noosphere" was used in the scientific works of Volodymyr Vernadskyi.
So, on January 28, 2022, the icebreaker crew (26 specialists) left Odessa for Antarctica. Having successfully completed the rotation of Ukrainian and Polish polar explorers, Noosphere could not return to Ukraine due to the war. The ship is currently preparing for the new Antarctic season in the port of Cape Town, South Africa.
Через війну в Україні програму наукових досліджень полярники змушені були скоротити. Разом з тим вони активно підключилися до боротьби за нашу перемогу, інформуючи країни світу про нелюдські дії агресора на нашій землі. І ось зовсім недавно, 25 жовтня, країнами - учасницями міжнародної організації зі збереження Антарктиди виступили з вимогою припинити терор росії проти України.
Because of the war in Ukraine, the polar explorers had to reduce the scientific research program. At the same time, they actively joined the fight for our victory, informing the countries of the world about the inhumane actions of the aggressor on our land. And just recently, on October 25, the member countries of the International Organization for the Conservation of Antarctica demanded an end to Russia's terror against Ukraine.
10 жовтня 2022 року внаслідок ракетних атак на Київ постраждав офіс НАНЦ. Світова спільнота відреагувала на це варварство солідарністю з українським народом. Наші полярники так відреагували на підтримку:
'Дякуємо світу, що він з нами! З такою підтримкою як у міжнародній спільноті, так і всередині України ми матимемо ще більше сил та натхнення продовжувати наукову роботу розширювати та поглиблювати її. А особливо – після нашої Перемоги.' source
On October 10, 2022, as a result of missile attacks on Kyiv, the office of the National Academy of Sciences was damaged. The world community reacted to this barbarism with solidarity with the Ukrainian people. This is how our polar explorers reacted to the support:
'We thank the world that it is with us! With such support both in the international community and within Ukraine, we will have even more strength and inspiration to continue to expand and deepen scientific work. And especially after our Victory.' source
Я завжди намагаюся слідкувати за життям наших полярників. Я би і сама не проти стати членом експедиції, щоб пожити в екстремальних умовах поруч із пінгвінами цілий рік. Та, на жаль, не на те вчитись пішла колись у юності.😌
Так от. На сьогоднішній день на станції 'Академік Вернадський' випала рекордна кількість снігу - 3,5 метра біля самої станції і 6 - 10 метрів на острові. По даху офісної будівлі зараз ходять пінгвіни, бо її замело повністю.
А ще раніше повідомлялося, що пінгвіни відклали вже яйця. І на початку грудня очікується поява їх дитинчат. Слідкую, чекаю, розкажу.🐧
I always try to follow the lives of our polar explorers. I myself would not mind becoming a member of an expedition to live in extreme conditions next to penguins all year round. But, unfortunately, that's not what I went to study in my youth. 😌
That's right. To date, a record amount of snow has fallen at the Akademik Vernadsky station - 3.5 meters near the station and 6-10 meters on the island. Penguins are now walking on the roof of the office building, because it is completely frozen.
And even earlier it was reported that the penguins had already laid eggs. And at the beginning of December, the appearance of their cubs is expected. I'm watching, waiting, I'll tell you.🐧
