It has been 3 years since I last saw my mom in Venezuela. Since then, I have had to take care of many things that I was not used to before. Luckily, I'm a fast learner, so it didn't take me long to get used to it.
However, today I am getting on a plane to go see her again, one more time....
Han pasado 3 años desde la última vez que vi a mi mamá en Venezuela. Desde entonces, me ha tocado hacerme cargo de muchas cosas de las cuales antes no estaba acostumbrado. Por suerte, soy alguien que aprende rápido, así que no tardé mucho en acostumbrarme a eso.
Sin embargo, hoy estoy montándome en un avión para ir a ver a mi mamá de nuevo, una vez más...
Even though it was quite a long trip, more than 12 hours of flight time due to the layovers, I didn't hesitate to say YES. It had been a long time since I had seen my mom and this was an opportunity I could not pass up.
A pesar de ser un viaje bastante largo, de más de 12 horas de vuelo debido a las escalas, no dude en decir que SI. Hace mucho tiempo que no veía a mi mamá y esta era una oportunidad que no podía dejar pasar.
Arriving in Miami, I was impressed by the size of the airport, I had to walk a long way to get to the gate. However, I took my time, as I had a couple of hours to spare before the plane was called to board.
Al llegar a Miami, me impresionó lo grande que era el aeropuerto, tuve que caminar mucho para poder llegar a la puerta de embarque. Sin embargo, me tomé mi tiempo, debido a que tenía un par de horas de sobra antes de que llamaran a abordar el avión.
I continued walking through the big airport, I took the opportunity and stopped to eat a couple of slices of pizza (very good by the way), I thought they were a good price, $2 each slice + $1 for the drink.
Seguí caminando por el gran aeropuerto, aproveché y pare a comer un par de slices de pizza (muy buenas por cierto), me pareció que estaban a buen precio, $2 cada slice + $1 la bebida.
The truth is that I didn't take many pictures until I got to the boarding gate, since I spent most of the time walking there.
Once I got there, it was just a matter of waiting to be called to board the plane.
La verdad es que no tomé muchas fotos hasta que llegue a la puerta de embarque, debido a que la mayor parte del tiempo la pase caminando hasta allá.
Una vez llegue, solo era cuestión de esperar a que nos llamaran a abordar el avión.
I had not slept for several hours, I imagine it was the adrenaline and excitement, but the truth is that the dark circles under my eyes and the tired face could not hide it.
Llevaba varias horas sin dormir, imagino que era la adrenalina y la emoción, pero lo cierto es que las ojeras y la cara de cansancio no la podía ocultar.
Then we were called to board the plane, and a few minutes later we took off for the next airport to Dallas.
Upon arrival, I could easily find my way around, the only problem was that I had to walk a lot. These airports are quite large and a lot of people get in and out of here.
Luego nos llamaron para abordar el avión, y a los pocos minutos despegamos al siguiente aeropuerto rumbo a Dallas.
Al llegar, me pude ubicar fácilmente, el único problema es que tenía que caminar más y más. Estos aeropuertos son bastante grandes y muchas personas entran y salen de aquí.
Este es el pasillo que más me dolió observar por lo largo que era jaja
Once we boarded the plane, we took off and it was only a matter of time before I could see my mom again.
After all the traveling I had to do, this time I was able to sleep peacefully on the last flight, it was like saying that the goal had been reached.
After landing, I only had the last aisle to travel...
Ya una vez abordamos el avión, despegamos y ya solo era cuestión de tiempo para volver a ver a mi mamá.
Después de tanto trayecto que tuve que pasar, esta vez sí pude dormir tranquilamente en el último vuelo, era como decir que la meta ya estaba alcanzada.
Luego de aterrizar, solo me quedaba el último pasillo por recorrer...
When I walked through that door, I met my mother again, after so long without seeing her.
Did I cry when I saw her? Of course, like a macho man. What a long time without seeing her, she is even more beautiful than before!
Al cruzar aquella puerta, me encontré nuevamente con mi madre, después de tanto tiempo sin verla.
¿Si lloré cuando la ví? Por supuesto, como todo un macho. Que de tiempo sin verla ¡Esta mas hermosa que antes!
Y así fue como volví a ver a mí mamá, felicidad pura
Entre tantas cosas que hago, vote esta publicación pero debi confensar que hasta ahora la leo y justo hoy amanecí pensando en volver a Venezuela, alla no está mi mamá, pero está mi hermana. Sé que nada será igual, sin embargo lo deseo.
Felicidades a ambos por este hermoso reencuentro y senti es dicha que reflejan tus escritos... vaya que si son grandes esos aeropuertos. Yo solo en el terminal terrestre de Guayaquil y quito me sentía perdid jajaja que dejará esos aeropuertos xD
Mi madre me confeso lo mismo. Que hay días en los que piensa devolverse a Venezuela con nosotros, pero sabe que allá nunca conseguirá lo mismo que esta consiguiendo aquí. Me alegre bastante de volverla a ver.
Por un momento pensé que me iba a perder en el aeropuerto jaja, pero tienen bastantes indicaciones, abruma un poco por lo grande, pero es muy difícil perderse. Te lo digo yo que soy super despistado 😂
