I can't even remember the last time I wrote anything in this wonderful community, but that doesn't mean I've neglected motherhood, ha ha ha, on the contrary, I’ve been fully immersed in it, and that’s one of the reasons why writing on my blog feels like an uphill battle more and more. Mathias has grown a lot, both in size and intelligence; his demands are getting greater and greater. We’ve resumed soccer, though not in a very formal way—he’s attending practices and the occasional friendly match. We’re continuing with music, gaining new experiences and knowledge, and the truth is, sometimes I’d like to support him even more—for example, with soccer—because there are days when, due to work, it’s hard for me to take him to practice, and that prevents him from progressing as much as he’d like. However, Mathias is an extremely understanding child, and he gets these kinds of situations.
I must say that I feel blessed with the son life has given me. Mathias isn’t an easy child; sometimes he gets overwhelmed by simple things, gets upset, and throws tantrums over things like not wanting to eat pasta or not wanting to eat his protein. Other times, he makes my life a nightmare by asking for a treat or wanting to go play at a friend’s house, However, he surprises me when he perfectly understands complex situations in life, thereby becoming an unconditional source of support for my emotional stability.
Last weekend was full of excitement. On Friday, the school celebrated Mother’s Day, and Mathias made his debut as the school’s official double bassist. He was pretty nervous, since it was his first time performing alongside other musicians, but honestly, he did a great job. He still has a long way to go and a lot to study and learn, but I think we’re on the right track.
On Sunday, we wrapped up the weekend with a friendly indoor soccer match, where it was clear he still has a lot to learn and grow, but he also showed that he’s fully committed to doing so. School break is coming up, when attendance at practices and games will likely become more consistent, and we’ll be able to see greater progress in his game—after all, Rome wasn’t built in a day. The most important thing right now is that Mathias is, by far, the most important thing in my life, and that taking a break from my blog has been one of the things that, without a doubt, has hurt me deeply. However, when I weigh what I’ve gained from it, even though I feel a little guilty, I feel happy.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post. If you have any questions, criticisms, or suggestions, I would appreciate it if you put them in the comment box. Remember, you too can do magic in the kitchen and wherever you go!

Mathias like a wonderful child, full of talents. Its beautiful how he’s growing in both sports and music, especially his first performance as a double bassist.
We've all been there. Gosh, I know how you feel
