La pandemia y la situación actual que vivimos nos ha afectado a todos de diferentes maneras, en mi opinión, los niños viven una época tan difÃcil de entender y de sobrellevar que hace que nosotros los padres y adultos reflexionemos sobre la manera en la que hacemos las cosas. Una de ellas es ayudar a nuestros tesoros con los deberes escolares. Me parece que antes de esta situación de pandemia los padres no ayudaban tanto a los niños pues las horas que pasaban en el colegio, y los padres trabajando, eran suficientemente agotadoras. Ahora, como hacemos si estamos todos en casa cumpliendo una cuarentena?

One of them is to help our treasures with homework. It seems to me that before this pandemic situation, parents did not help their children so much because the hours they spent at school, and parents working, were exhausting enough. Now, how do we do if we are all at home serving a quarantine?
De alguna forma yo la tengo fácil, mi hija Marcela apenas cursa el segundo nivel de preescolar y sus actividades no son tan demandantes. Necesita al igual que todos, tiempo y espacio para realizarlas asà que la ORGANIZACIÓN de estos dos aspectos es básica. Desde antes de pandemia ya tenÃamos rutinas para hacer la tareas y ella siempre ha tenido mucha disposición asà que no debÃa luchar, ahora menos porque las hacemos a cualquier hora del dÃa.
Somehow I have it easy, my daughter Marcela is just in the second level of preschool and her activities are not so demanding. You need, like everyone else, time and space to carry them out, so the ORGANIZATION of these two aspects is basic. Since before the pandemic we already had routines to do homework and she has always been very willing so she shouldn't fight, now less because we do them at any time of the day.
NEGOCIAR es una manera muy fácil de llegar a un acuerdo, por mi parte le ofrezco dibujar o leer un cuento antes de la actividad y después, de manera que: "haremos un dibujo antes de hacer las tareas, cuando terminemos podrás hacer otro o leer un cuento". Usa sus intereses para negociar sanamente y evitar los castigos. Miranda apenas tiene 2 años pero al igual que su hermana, yo la incluyo en las actividades para que se familiarice y pueda adoptar ciertos hábitos de estudio como sentarse en la mesa, recoger los útiles al terminar y por supuesto también llego a acuerdos con ella: "si hacemos el dibujo/puntitos/trazos te puedes comer una galleta/jugar con la tablet, etc"

Miranda is barely 2 years old, but like her sister, I include her in the activities so that she becomes familiar and can adopt certain study habits such as sitting at the table, picking up supplies when finishing and of course I also reach agreements with her: "if we do the drawing / dots / strokes you can eat a cookie / play with the tablet, etc"
Realizar las tareas de la escuela con Marcela no me toma mas de 40 minutos en la mañana, ya sabemos que después de desayunar y limpiar la casa es hora de sentarnos en la mesa para las tareas. Ella espera pacientemente a que yo termine mis quehaceres y después puede jugar todo lo que quiere. Debo agradecer a Dios que es muy inteligente y que con 4 años ya sepa leer y otras cosas, asà que ayudarla no es una labor tan ardua.
Doing my homework with Marcela does not take me more than 40 minutes in the morning, we already know that after having breakfast and cleaning the house it is time to sit at the table for homework. She waits patiently for me to finish my chores and then she can play all she wants. I must thank God that she is very intelligent and that at 4 years old she already knows how to read and other things, so helping her is not such an arduous task.
Mi Trabajo Actual / My Current Job
Desde principios de la pandemia me quedé sin trabajo, cuando los ahorros se agotaban conocà HIVE y poco después inicié con mi emprendimiento, Tareas Dirigidas en casa.
Since the beginning of the pandemic I lost my job, when my savings were running out I met HIVE and shortly after I started my startup, Home Directed Tasks.
Asà que todas las tardes mi casa se convierte en una pequeña aula de clases para niños hasta 6to grado. Lo que hago es ayudar a unos 15 niños de la escuela primaria con sus tareas semanales y proyectos, ellos tienen turnos diversos y aunque algunos no tienen tareas, yo les ayudo con cosas básicas y muy esenciales. Mi mamá, como maestra jubilada de preescolar, me ayuda con los niños mas pequeños, incluyendo a mi hija Marcela quien pasa toda la tarde conmigo haciendo actividades, leyendo y compartiendo con sus compañeros.
So every afternoon my house turns into a small classroom for children up to 6th grade. What I do is help about 15 elementary school children with their weekly homework and projects, they have different shifts and although some have no homework, I help them with basic and very essential things. My mother, as a retired preschool teacher, helps me with the younger children, including my daughter Marcela who spends the whole afternoon with me doing activities, reading and sharing with her classmates.
Esto me ayuda muchÃsimo, trabajo, la ayudo con las clases y todo desde casa. Con la situación de cuarentena ha disminuido un poco la afluencia de mis alumnos, pero esto no nos detiene porque las actividades de las escuelas se mantienen. Recibo menos niños con las debidas medidas preventivas, asà no dejo de trabajar y no dejo de ayudar y educar a mis alumnos, en especial a mi hija.
This helps me a lot, I work, I help her with classes and everything from home. With the quarantine situation the influx of my students has decreased a bit, but this does not stop us because the activities of the schools are maintained. I receive fewer children with the proper preventive measures, so I don't stop working and I don't stop helping and educating my students, especially my daughter.
