I tell you that my daughter Daniela, has sent me some beautiful photos of the Basilica Santa Teresa, one of the most important Catholic temples in the city of Caracas, here is venerated mainly the image of the Nazarene of St. Paul in Holy Week, date that coincided her visit, since childhood I have instilled in her that we must attend mass on Sundays, although she does not go often and being in Caracas decided to go in the company of her mother-in-law.
This basilica has a neoclassical style with a central dome where the main altar is located under it, the west facade is dedicated to Santa Ana and the east facade to Santa Teresa.
Nazareno is a pine wood carving and was brought from Spain in the 15th century, being received with great veneration in the Chapel of San Pablo in 1674, hence the name "Nazareno de San Pablo". One of the Caracas legends tells of a terrible epidemic that struck Caracas in 1597 where, to alleviate the pain, the parishioners brought out the Nazarene. During the pilgrimage, the crown of thorns of the Nazarene got entangled in a lemon tree and a bunch fell, the devotees collected the lemons and gave them to the sick who were immediately healed.
In 1880 the then president, Guzmán Blanco, ordered the destruction of the Chapel of San Pablo to make way for the Municipal Theater, moving the image to the Basilica of Santa Teresa where it has been worshipped by thousands of parishioners ever since.

Feliz inicio de semana, para todos espero que esta semana que comienza sea productiva y puedan al alcanzar todos sus objetivos.
Les cuento que mi hija Daniela, me ha enviado unas fotos preciosas de la Basílica Santa Teresa, uno de los templos católicos más importantes de la ciudad de Caracas, aquí se venera principalmente la imagen del Nazareno de San Pablo en la semana santa, fecha que coincidió su visita, desde pequeña le he inculcado que debemos asistir a misa los domingos, aunque ella no va con frecuencia y estando en Caracas decidió ir en compañía de su suegra.
Esta basílica posee un estilo neoclásico con una cúpula central donde se sitúa bajo ella el altar mayor, la fachada oeste está dedicada a Santa Ana y la fachada este a Santa Teresa.
El Nazareno es una talla de madera de pino y fue traída de España en el siglo XV, siendo recibido con gran veneración en la Capilla de San Pablo en 1674,de allí en nombre "Nazareno de San Pablo". Una de las leyendas caraqueñas cuenta una terrible epidemia que azotó a Caracas en 1597 donde, para aliviar las penas, los feligreses sacaron al Nazareno. Durante la peregrinación, la corona de espinas del Nazareno se quedó enredada en un limonero y cayó un racimo, los devotos recogieron los limones y se los dieron a los enfermos quienes sanaron de inmediato.
En 1880 el entonces presidente, Guzmán Blanco, ordenó la destrucción de la Capilla de San Pablo para dar paso al Teatro Municipal, trasladando la imagen a la Basílica de Santa Teresa donde desde entonces es adorada por miles de feligreses.
