Good morning, moms and dads. I hope you have a great Thursday.
Last week I had several meaningful moments, including the second Mother’s Day celebration, which took place in Abby’s classroom but with the second-grade moms. Upon entering, there was a table with the children’s artwork related to the celebration, as well as foam flowers with chocolate and others made of crepe paper, along with badges to wear on their clothes that day.
As we began our tribute, Ms. Roxana said a few words to all the mothers—very touching, indeed, since she is the mother of two young children, one of whom is in school with my youngest daughter. She is a true example of what it means to be a supermom.
Afterward, all our children took part in a series of activities. In the first one, each child mentioned a word that defines their mom, such as: loving, kind, affectionate, responsible, intelligent, creative, among other qualities. Alys gave me a heart with a word that defines me: affectionate. The girls also performed a lovely dance.
While the teachers handed out snacks and cookies, the children gave us their crafts: a flower along with a beautiful drawing for Mother’s Day and a thank-you note for the unconditional love we give them every day of our lives.
I had to leave the celebration earlier than expected because I had to get back to work, but it was such a joy for me to be with Alys since I couldn’t make it last year and my mom had to go in my place; she kept thanking me for being there.
I really love the kind gestures the teachers show us; together with the children, they make us feel very special and also let us know that we’re doing a good job as mothers.

Buenos días, papitos y mamitas. Les deseo un grandioso jueves.
La semana pasada tuve varios momentos valiosos para mi, entre esos la segunda celebración del Día de las Madres, tuvo lugar en la misma aula de Abby pero con las mamitas de segundo grado, al entrar había una mesa con trabajos de los niños alusivos a la celebración, al igual que flores de foami con chocolate y otras con papel crepe, al igual que unos distintivos para colocarlos en la ropa ese día.
Al iniciar nuestro homenaje la maestra Roxana dió unas palabras para todas las madres, muy emotivas por cierto, ya que ella es mamá de dos pequeños y uno de ellos estudia con mi hija menor, ella es un ejemplo de como ser una super mamá.
Posteriormente iniciaron una serie de actos por parte de todos nuestros hijos, en el primero cada uno iba mencionando una palabra que define a su mamá como: amorosa, gentil, cariñosa, responsable, inteligente, creativa, entre otras cualidades, Alys me entregó un corazón con una palabra con la que me define: cariñosa, también realizaron un lindo baile las niñas.
Mientras las maestras repartían pasapalos y galletas, los niños nos entregaron las manualidades, una flor junto el hermoso dibujo por el día de la madre y una nota de agradecimiento por el amor incondicional que les brindamos cada día de nuestras vidas.
Me tuve que retirar antes de lo esperado de la celebración ya que que debía volver al trabajo, pero que alegría para mi estar con Alys ya que el año pasado no pude y mi mamá tuvo que ir en mi representación, ella no paraba de agradecerme el hecho de que estuviera allí.
Me gusta mucho los gestos de cariño que tienen las maestras con nosotras, junto con los niños nos hacen sentir muy especiales y además nos hacen saber que estamos haciendo bien nuestra labor como madres.
