Hello fungi lovers, one more week here contributing the following find, on one of my recent outings in search of mushroom.
In my last outing in search of mushrooms I found myself in a log with two specimens on it, it seemed very curious and strange since I had never seen anything like it, it has a very striking appearance and looking for information about it I could know that it is a type of fungi called Fuligo septica and can be found both outdoors and in damp indoor spaces.
The following shots are of the fungus that I found on the right side of the trunk (which can be better seen in the open shot at the end of the publication), here you can see the fungus with a viscous consistency, its yellowish color and behind it is You can see the white mark that it leaves as it moves through the bark of the tree, this trace is called the hypothallus.
In this macro shot you can see the fungus found at the other end of the trunk, here you can see its texture similar to a sponge, very porous and irregular, around the fungus you can also see the hypothallus whitish trace that they leave as they move .
This is the image I took when I found these curious fungi, here you can see both specimens with their respective hypothals, you can also see the trunk from which they emerged and the small traces of moss that are present in this tiny ecosystem.
