Hello fungi lovers, again another week contributing my latest find, in one of my recent outings in search of mushrooms.
Phyllotopsis nidulans, commonly known as simulated oyster or orange oyster, is a mushroom that we can usually find in autumn, in temperate forests, growing on the remains of logs and rotten wood.
Its hat can reach up to eight centimeters, it has the appearance of an ear or an oyster, its color varies from brown to orange, which is usually more common in these mushrooms.
They usually grow in groups with other specimens, which makes them visually very striking in addition to their bright color.
It is not a mushroom that we can cook and eat because of its toxicity, in addition to its soft meat and its bad smell, so it has no culinary use.
Thank you.
