Here are a few fall stragglers for this #mushroommonday
Look at these strange charachters.
I have no idea what they might be.
They seem to have pholiota qualities but I am not sure as older mushroom specimens are tough to identify.
Here is another pholiota looking mushroom.
This one formed a little heart shape.
This appears to be a baby version.
This batch appears to be a type of mycena. They are a bit dried out.
This is what the mycena gills look like.
Now for some familiar pear shaped puffballs. Sadly these are the only ones I've found this year.
Another unidentified straggler with a shiny smooth white cap.
Finally a strange looking brown capped mushroom. This one seems to have amanita characteristics with the little white spots.
Hopefully I can find more stragglers for #fungifriday
You got some beautiful shadow and light play with these shots.
It was a nice fall day out, but now we are in for endless gray days until next year.
Do you live in Vancouver too?
Nope just a few hundred miles south lol in Illinois.
haha ... so trade my rain for snow:)
Very special and cute mushrooms! So many growing in the wild!
These forests are plentiful with them, sadly I found none that were edible this time.
Why didn’t you grow some edible mushrooms there?!
They usually do grow there in the summer. My home reishi kit is starting to grow antlers fortunately.
Wow! This is fantastic!! Wait for how long before they are ready for the kitchen?!
What beautiful mushrooms! 🍄 Thank you for sharing these
Thanks always something new to find in the forest.
mushrooms are very beautiful and look so bright I really like them.
Always something new to be learned about mushrooms.
and we had the first snow yesterday...Although it quickly melted, but for mushrooms it is not good. In the evening, I stopped for a minute in the woods to see if there were any more mushrooms. I found some Blackberries (Hydnum repandum)
Looks like a hedgehog to me, nice edible.
Now I know hedgehogs can last all the way up until the first snow. I won't give up looking for more this season.
Yes, very tasty mushrooms. Similar to chanterelles(Latin: Cantharēllus cibārius). By smell and taste
But more of a firm texture. Foortunately there aren't poisonous lookalikes either because of the unique spikes.
