Sonia on quiet hunting

Hello, dear fungi lovers!

We call the activity of searching and picking mushrooms a Quiet Hunting. Indeed, those people walks between trees in silence, like they afraid to scare away mushrooms.

Look, I'm not good at it, not good at all. But sometimes luck is on my side. Like yesterday, when I, Nick and Sonia made a cool hike to a picturesque Carpathian mountains.

We met a lot of poisoned and conditionally edible mushrooms. Some of them were good models, as well as Sonia.

Here, this one... I am not even surely say us it fungi or some other form of life.

But Chanterelle (or Cantharellus cibarius) ... they are special to me.

First, because I'm not afraid to mix them up with nonedible replica ;)

Second, tbey grow in groups, like a family. So if you've found one, sit down and look around, you'll see others.

Third, because I love them and worms don't. You know the feeling when you carefully carry a bag with mushrooms, then, at home, you clear them, cut and see worms. Thrown out, with regrets.

This will never happen if you pick up chanterelles. With sour cream, onion and garlic they are perfect!
