New habits? Good Thing to Get Better

One excited morning, I woke up with renewed determination. I think it's time to start living a healthy life by taking better care of myself. Sometimes I'm tired of an unhealthy lifestyle, irregular eating patterns, and lack of physical activity.

I started the change by making a to-do list for each day. Starting from waking up, what I do all day, and until I go back to sleep. I started my change with set a meal schedule even though it didn't yet contain balanced foods such as vegetables, protein, and fruits. That way, my digestive system will work better.

After I scheduled my meals on time, I realized how important exercise is in maintaining health. I started by doing light exercises like kick crunches, mountain climbers, push-ups, planks, etc. So that I can commit to this light exercise for the long term, I do it in the afternoon at five o'clock with the help of an app that can guide me. That way, I don't get confused with the portion of exercise I have to do. Even though on the first day my body ached, now I can feel my strength and physical fitness increasing.

I didn't just improve my physical health. I also pay attention to my mental health. I realized that mental health is just as important as physical health. It is important to keep a positive mind and manage stress well. I allocate time for meditation and reflection and engage in pleasurable activities such as reading, drawing, and writing. Things like this will help me to focus more and reduce stress.

I also try to keep up appearances both at home and outside. I started paying attention to the health of my skin by using skin care and drinking more mineral water. I also started paying attention to clothing styles that fit my body shape. That way, a good appearance will provide comfort and make me more confident.

Here are a few things I did to help me with this process:

Set specific goals

Decide what you want to achieve by starting this new habit. If you want to live a healthier life, maybe what you can do is exercise regularly or eat on time. Determine the goals you want to achieve to provide a clear direction for the changes made.

Start with one habit at a time

If doing lots of new things at once seems tiring, taking up a new habit at a time might be worth a try. That way, you won't get too overwhelmed or lose motivation. Making one small change consistently is a good thing, rather than you do many things at once and making you tired. By doing small things, then you can do and start another new habit.

Make a schedule and stick to it

One of the hardest things to do when you want to make a change is you don't know what you want to do. You can create a new schedule and stick to it consistently. Your changes will be more regular and easier to implement. For example, if you want to get up early every day, set a specific time and stick to it. You can set an alarm to wake up at that time, or you can go to bed earlier. By having a consistent schedule, new habits will be easier to implement.

Find support

Find support from people around you. Share with friends, family who can provide the support and motivation you need. You can also find support online or join a community with a similar goal.

Be patient with yourself

Change is something that is not easy to do. Most people can't even change because they are too comfortable with their habits. But, by starting slowly and not pushing too hard, I think the change will stick in us by itself. Changing old habits and changing them with new habits requires effort. You don't need to be so hard on yourself in case of setbacks and mistakes. Give yourself opportunities to continually learn and grow, and remember that change is an ongoing process. If you can kick off your habit, maybe giving yourself a little reward will help. It will help maintain your motivation to keep growing.

For me, even though I only started a few days, last Monday to be exact. But challenges and temptations to stop always come. There are times when I want to give up and go back to old habits. However, strong determination helped me to stay focused on my original goal. I use setbacks as lessons and motivation to keep going.

Me, or maybe you, who want to start something new with a strong desire and commitment, will be better able to live life with new habits and achieve the changes you want. Good luck!

I couldn’t agree more about writing down your goals. For me it’s very hard to make plans like this, because my shifts are different every week. It throws out of balance because I am going to sleep and having my meals at different time of the day. Still probably could be more organised. Thanks for sharing your experience 🙂

Thank you for visiting my blog.

It's a little easy for me because I still have a lot of free time. Maybe you can adjust the schedule according to your needs or what you want to change. It's not easy to change habits that have been ingrained for a long time. The most important thing is never forget to eat and drink lots of water.

Have a nice day!

Have a nice day too 🙂
