The truth is that I have always been a bit of a movie buff, I love movies and series, nowadays I find it difficult to watch stuff so often, however every time I can or I have free time I like to watch a good series or a good movie.
A few days ago I came across a movie based on true events starring Gary Oldman and Lily Collins, and produced by David Fincher.
Of course most of you know who I'm talking about when I mention these amazing actors, and I didn't hesitate for a second to decide to watch it, besides Fincher is a producer I love, most of his movies in my opinion are pure art.
Mank is a dramatic source film, based on the biography of screenwriter Herman Mankiewicz or better known as Mank.
Although Mank has an extraordinary talent for writing, he struggles day to day with his addiction problems, and in an unexpected twist falls into bed due to a car accident.
While on bed rest, he receives an unexpected visit from Orson Welles, a New York director and screenwriter, who proposes to write a play. In the struggle to achieve sobriety, he begins to write one of his most important works, Citizen Kane.

La verdad siempre he sido un tanto cinéfila, me encantan las películas y series, en la actualidad se me dificulta ver material tan seguido, sin embargo cada vez que puedo o tengo libre me gusta ver una buena serie o una buena película.
Hace unos días me encontré con una película basada en hechos reales protagonizada por Gary Oldman y Lily Collins, y producida por David Fincher.
Por supuesto la mayoría sabe de quién hablo cuando nombro estos increíbles actores, y no lo dude ni un segundo para decidirme a verla, además de qué Fincher es un productor que me encanta, la mayoría de sus películas a mi parecer son arte puro.
Mank es una película de origen dramática, basada en la biografía del guionista Herman Mankiewicz o mejor conocido como Mank.
A pesar de que Mank tiene un talento extraordinario por la escritura, lucha día a día con sus problemas de adicción, y en un giro inesperado cae en cama debido a un accidente automovilístico.
Mientras se encuentra en reposo recibe una visita inesperada de Orson Welles director y guionista de origen Neoyorkino quién le propone escribir una obra. En la lucha por conseguir la sobriedad comienza a escribir una de sus obras más importantes Ciudadano Kane.

But let's go a bit to the origins and who the play is about.

Pero vamos un poco a los orígenes y de quién trata la obra.

He immediately felt an attraction to that elegant woman and began to write his play based on the life of both of them.
It is known that at the end of the play, Mank can not receive the credits being his best work, something that displeases him and in a struggle to get the rights finally in 1940 he gets it and even more he gets the Academy Award for best original screenplay.
Let's go a little bit to my critiques and reviews.
En seguida siente una atracción hacía aquella mujer elegante y comienza a escribir su obra basada en la vida de ambos.
Se sabe que al terminar la obra, Mank no puede recibir los créditos siendo su mejor obra, cosa que le disgusta y en una lucha por conseguir los derechos finalmente en 1940 lo consigue y mayor aún consigue el Premio de la academia a mejor guion original.
Vamos un poco a mis críticas y reseñas.

When I started watching it the first thing I noticed was the style and setting in which it was filmed, it dates back to the 30s/40s and the effort for the production is quite clear.
Shot in black and white with the essence it needs to be in my opinion an extraordinary film. Mank for me, has been a masterpiece in every way.
Gary Oldman on the other hand, plays a tremendous role, playing such an important character as Herman Mankiewicz or Mank.
Cuándo comencé a verla lo primero que pude observar es el estilo y ambientación en que fue grabada, data a los años 30/40 y el esfuerzo por la producción es bastante clara.
Grabada a blanco y negro con la esencia que necesita para ser en mi opinión una película extraordinaria. Mank para mí, ha sido una obra maestra en todos los sentidos.
Gary Oldman por otra parte, hace un papel tremendo, al ocupar el papel de un personaje tan importante como lo es, Herman Mankiewicz o Mank.

I absolutely recommend this film, the cinema of the golden age in the 30s/40s is beautiful. It is a very fresh film, and unlike more current years it tells a little of the life of the tycoons and how they managed the cinema and theater at that time.
Something that this film left me to remember is Mank's desire to not give up knowing that it was an impeccable work and to fight to the end to get the rights. I think that's the way we have to be with everything, fight for everything we love and that has cost us so much effort to get.

Absolutamente les recomiendo esta película, el cine de la época dorada en años 30/40 es hermoso. Es una película muy fresca, y a diferencia de años más actuales relata un poco la vida de los magnates y como manejaban el cine y el teatro en aquella época.
Algo que está película me dejó para recordar es las ganas de Mank de no rendirse sabiendo que era una obra impecable y luchar hasta el final por conseguir los derechos. Creo que así tenemos que ser con todo, luchar por todo aquello que amamos y que tanto esfuerzo nos ha costado conseguir.
