La historia se desarrolla en tierras vascas en pequeño pueblo donde los hombres trabajan en el mar y las mujeres se quedan en casa trabajando y cuidando, vemos un grupo de chicas que elaboran manualidades de manera normal disfrutando del momento con cantos y risas. Todo esto se desarrolla de forma natural, pero da un giro cuando vemos la llegada al pequeño pueblo unos soldados enviados por el Rey bajo las órdenes de Juez Rostegui, quien está en una cacería de brujas por todo el país.
Tomando como presionaras a estas chicas contra su voluntad para interrogarlas sobre el caso de brujería que parece estar sucediendo dentro del pueblo y de que ellas parecen formar parte, esto de inicio se torna interesante, ya que no conocemos con claridad las razones por las que se inició esta caería, pero podemos entender gracias a la época donde se desarrolla la trama la idea de las brujas y todo lo referente al tema.

UNA PELÍCULA LENTA PERO PRECISA
Las películas siempre nos presentan dos ritmos que suelen marcar las pausas para que el espectador entiendo lo rápida o lenta que puede ser su desarrollo, quizás escenas muy detallas o personajes con un desarrollo profundo, sin importar cuál sea el caso siempre afectará de manera diferente al espectador.

Uno de los ganchos por así llamarlo de esta película es como nos presentan eso que es tan desconocido para muchos y sobre todo en una época donde todo se manejaba tan distinto el creer o no podían marcar una gran diferencia y eso de por sí era perjudicial para la persona, ya que la ponía en una situación difícil donde tenía que dar una idea más clara de su posición y explicar con peras y manzanas lo que pasaba por su cabeza.

Pero no se transmite como tal al espectador, ya que lo vemos muy poco en escena y prácticamente como si no existiría miedo alguno a eso desconocido, dando la impresione de que es un tema norma o que sea parte de su día a día. Esto generó en mí la duda de que si vería una película que se centrará en revelar la verdad y sin nada de terror o suspenso que me hiciera pegar un salto. El miedo a lo desconocido no se hizo notar dentro de la película y quedó a un lado que sin más argumento se perdió de vista a lo largo del filme.

• Sus personajes principales conectan a través de su diálogo y eso genera más interés en saber cómo terminará todo.
• Tiene personalidad es una película entretenida que se presenta totalmente diferente a otras de su género, es una película que puedes disfrutar sin importar como inicie o termine.
LO MALO
• El final queda a la imaginación y eso quizás desde mi punto de vista es algo muy conveniente para cerrar la película sin mucha importancia lo cual puede chocar con el espectador dejando un mal sabor de boca.
• Muchos personajes innecesarios que solo hacen de la trama algo un poco repetitivo e innecesario, claro está es una observación personal y quizás no sea la misma que puedan tener ustedes al final.

La película no es de las mejores que haya visto, pero si es de esas que se dibujan de otra forma y deja al espectador sorprendido por la manera en que se desarrolla, mientras veía la película sentía la necesidad saber más y entender por qué no mostraban algo más impactante fuera de ese diálogo entre las chicas y el Juez que parecía no tener un final, pero que estaba puesto para que el espectador supiera desde un punto de vista diferente lo que en esa época significaba estar bajo esa situación.
FINAL THOUGHT
The movie is not one of the best I have seen, but it is one of those that are drawn in a different way and leaves the viewer surprised by the way it develops, while watching the movie I felt the need to know more and understand why they did not show something more shocking out of that dialogue between the girls and the Judge that seemed to have no end, but that was set for the viewer to know from a different point of view what it meant at that time to be under that situation.
Podría hablar más sobre la película, pero tendría que hablar con Spoilers y eso no quiero, ya que debes ir a verla primero y de esa forma poder abrir un pequeño debate de lo que te pareció la película.

A mi me encanto este film. Por muchos factores. Uno de ellos es la lucha de poder que se pone en juego entre las chicas acusadas de brujería y el Juez.
Creemos lo que queremos creer. La única defensa que les queda a ellas es eso como arma para poder intentar sobrevivir hasta la llegada de los hombres del pueblo.
La música compuesta para el film es genial, croe que lle dieron el Goya en esa categoría. Y la secuencia donde hacen el ritual que tanto quiere ver el juez con sus propios ojos, es excitante.
La inquisición hizo desastres matando a muchas personas, entre ellas muchas mujeres, acusadas de brujería. Cegados por una religión. Repito: creemos lo que queremos creer.
Pierre de Rosteguy de Lancre existió en la vida real y según lo que he leído, fue un despiadado y causante de condenar a mucha gente a la hoguera
Aunque la historia del film es ficción, toma bases reales. Rosteguy fue el escritor del libro Tratado de brujería vasca: descripción de la inconstancia de los malos ángeles y demonios. Un año después de los hechos descritos en el film, se llevan a cabo los Juicios de las Brujas Zugarramurdi, ubicado en la zona vasca de España. Eran los últimos coletazos de la Santa inquisición, que tiempo después seria abolida y se determinaría que era una idea estúpida, una fantasía. Miles de muertes por muchos años, a causa de una religión. Por eso estoy en contra de cualquier sistema de pensamiento único. Las religiones son de ese tipo de organizaciones. Cuanto daño hicieron en Europa las acusaciones de brujería, muchas de ellas era usadas por venganza, para resolver peleas entre rivales, etc. Toda una patraña usando un Dios como escudo.
No gustara a todo el mundo, una lastima, pero es una de las mejores propuestas españolas del año, solo hay que ver mas allá. Un plus adicional es que usan lenguaje vasco , espero que hayas visto la versión subtitulada.Algunas actrices no sabían el dialecto, y tuvieron que aprenderlo, incluso el director que no es de allí, no sabia para nada el idioma vasco y todas sus variantes. Explico mas sobre el film en mi reseña de hace un par de meses.
Si, desde ese punto realista y de lo que se puede conocer de la época de la caería de brujas y todo lo que rodea esté mito, leyenda o creencia es brutal verlo o analizarlo desde esa perspectiva.
Obviamente la lucha de poder entre el Juez y las chicas es el foco principal de la trama el cual se disfruta pero sentí que le faltó un bom para que me terminará de gustar.
