Las películas sobre grandes personalidades del espectáculo normalmente no me gustan pero aún así le di la oportunidad a la ganadora de múltiples premios: Bohemian Rhapsody. La verdad es que la razón por la que este tipo de películas no me gustan es porque siempre son historias donde muchas veces falta algo de contexto y en el que fácilmente se pueden manipular las verdades de una historia, esta era mi opinión hasta encontrarme con esta película.
Bohemian Rhapsody, es la película que cuenta la historia de Freddie Mercury desde sus inicios en Londres para el año 1970 siendo en ese momento un joven extravagante que trabaja en un aeropuerto y que estudia diseño grafico, una tarde en un bar escucha al grupo Smile y posteriormente se ofrece como cantante cuando se entera que la banda se ha quedado sin vocalista.
I don't usually like movies about big showbiz personalities, but I still gave the multi-award winning Bohemian Rhapsody a chance. The truth is that the reason why I don't like this kind of movies is because they are always stories where many times there is a lack of context and where the truths of a story can easily be manipulated, this was my opinion until I came across this movie.
Bohemian Rhapsody, is the film that tells the story of Freddie Mercury from his beginnings in London for the year 1970 being at that time a flamboyant young man working at an airport and studying graphic design, one afternoon in a bar he listens to the group Smile and later offers himself as a singer when he learns that the band has been left without a vocalist.
Debo decir que no soy fan de Freddie pero en definitiva fue un icono en la historia de la música, hizo historia con Queen, hay canciones que son realmente buenas y que me encantan a pesar de que no soy aficionada, me pareció curioso y muy acertado que el título de la película sea una de las canciones más exitosas y revolucionaras de la banda, por ello al principio pensé que la película se centraría en la banda pero no, realmente el foco principal es Freddie.
Siempre he estado clara de que la fama, el dinero y el mundo del espectáculo son cosas que no cualquiera puede soportar y de que existen personas tan talentosas que son extraordinarias como es el caso de Mercury; en base a ello y teniendo más o menos una visión de su vida realmente me gusto la película y la forma en la que redireccionaron los hechos para contar una historia.
Por supuesto que existen diferencias entre la cinta y la vida real, entre ellas la manera en la que Freddie se conoció con Smile, en realidad él conoció a Roger y Mary en un mercado de Kesington y posteriormente Roger lo presenta con May. Sin embargo el cambio no me desagrado porque de alguna manera es un cambio agradable para una película. Hay inconsistencias en la película, canciones que aparecen antes de tiempo y acciones que se exageran un poco pero realmente no molesta demasiado esto, más adelante les comentaré de cambios que no me agradaron.
I must say that I am not a fan of Freddie but he was definitely an icon in the history of music, he made history with Queen, there are songs that are really good and that I love even though I am not a fan, I found it curious and very accurate that the title of the film is one of the most successful and revolutionary songs of the band, so at first I thought that the film would focus on the band but no, really the main focus is Freddie.
I have always been clear that fame, money and show business are things that not everyone can endure and that there are people as talented and extraordinary as Mercury; based on that and having more or less a vision of his life I really liked the movie and the way they redirected the facts to tell a story.
Of course there are differences between the film and real life, among them the way Freddie met Smile, actually he met Roger and Mary in a market in Kesington and later Roger introduces him to May. However the change didn't displease me because in some ways it's a nice change for a movie. There are inconsistencies in the movie, songs that appear before their time and actions that are a bit exaggerated but it doesn't really bother me too much, later I will tell you about changes that I didn't like.
El autor encargado de interpretar a Mercury: Rami Malek, a pesar de no ser tan parecido físicamente hizo el papel como creo yo nadie pudo haberlo hecho; la verdad su Oscar fue bien merecido veía la película y la comparaba con videos de Freddie y realmente me quedo impactada de la forma en como se siente la representación. Igualmente con los demás actores de la banda, representan muy bien sus personajes.
Por otro lado, me gusta la manera en la que se presenta a la banda y a Mercury, es importante recalcar que ambas historias se encuentran completamente ligadas y que no se pueden obviar la una de la otra. Esta es una película que si bien hizo cambios en la historia cumplió muy bien su papel; se presento una trama que se desarrollo y aunque no fue completamente fiel a la realidad es normal que esto pase porque los tiempos en una película son mucho más recortados y además tienes el plus de que puede que alguien vaya a verla sin saber absolutamente de la banda o del artista.
The author in charge of playing Mercury: Rami Malek, despite not being so physically similar, played the role as I think no one could have done; the truth is that his Oscar was well deserved, I watched the film and compared it with videos of Freddie and I was really impressed with the way the representation feels. Likewise with the other actors in the band, they portray their characters very well.
On the other hand, I like the way in which the band and Mercury are presented, it is important to emphasize that both stories are completely linked and that they cannot be obviated from each other. This is a film that although it made changes in the story, it fulfilled its role very well; it presented a plot that was developed and although it was not completely faithful to reality it is normal that this happens because the times in a movie are much shorter and also you have the plus that someone may go to see it without knowing absolutely nothing about the band or the artist.
La película en ningún momento se me hizo aburrida, como en otras ocasiones, y debo hacer mención a como se ejemplifico la relación de Mercury con Mary Austin; quizá hubo licencias creativas para crear esto pero fue un relación que realmente transmitió, igualmente se sintió realmente personal la disputa de Mercury con su sexualidad, estas fueron partes personales que me aportaron como espectadora.
Por otro lado, lo que si no me gusto, fue la manera en la que muchas cosas cayeron sobre los errores del cantante, por ejemplo la separación de banda; en la película básicamente se exagera y se saca de contexto la situación entiendo que haya sido para darle un pico a la cinta pero se sintió más como una forma de culparlo a él por hechos que fueron de parte y parte.
En esta misma línea, en la película también se muestra que Mercury contrajo SIDA, enfermedad que además acabo con su vida, mucho antes de lo que realmente ocurrió. Supongo que esta decisión se tomo para finalizar la película pero me hubiese gustado que en esta parte se respetara más la realidad.
The movie was not boring at any moment, as in other occasions, and I must mention how Mercury's relationship with Mary Austin was exemplified; maybe there were creative licenses to create this but it was a relationship that really transmitted, also Mercury's dispute with his sexuality felt really personal, these were personal parts that contributed to me as a viewer.
On the other hand, what I didn't like, was the way in which many things fell on the singer's mistakes, for example the band's separation; in the movie the situation is basically exaggerated and taken out of context, I understand that it was to give a peak to the film but it felt more like a way of blaming him for facts that were part and parcel.
In the same vein, the film also shows that Mercury contracted AIDS, a disease that also ended his life, much earlier than what actually happened. I suppose that this decision was taken to end the movie but I would have liked to see more respect for reality in this part.
Sinceramente esta es una película revolucionaria de cierta manera, pero a pesar de todo ello me gusto; me hizo pasar un rato agradable y además debo confesarles que también me puso a investigar sobre las verdaderas líneas de tiempo de la vida de Freddie y un poco de Queen. Sé que esta película ya tiene suficientemente estrenada y que la mayoría de las personas la han visto, pero si como yo obviaron la película en su momento, denle ahora una oportunidad porque realmente vale la pena.
Bohemian Rhapsody, una película con mucho estilo para contar una historia de un personaje tan controversial, me gusto la experiencia de haberla visto y realmente tuvo grades aciertos como los actores, el contexto y por supuesto las canciones historias de la banda.
Honestly this is a revolutionary movie in a way, but in spite of all that I liked it; it made me have a good time and I must confess that it also made me do some research on the real timelines of Freddie's life and a little bit of Queen. I know this movie has been out long enough and most people have seen it, but if like me you skipped the movie at the time, give it a chance now because it is really worth it.
Bohemian Rhapsody, a movie with a lot of style to tell a story of such a controversial character, I liked the experience of having seen it and it really had great hits like the actors, the context and of course the songs and stories of the band.
Holaa, tu post me llamo mucho la atención, soy muy fan de Queen, y me gusta mucho la forma en la que expresas las cosas que te gustaron y las que no. Comparto tu opinión, está película es muy buena y llega a distraer mucho y pasar un buen rato, también gracias a la actuación de Rami Malek, y los otros actores pudieron trasmitir las emociones más allá de una pantalla. Me alegro mucho que está película haya logrado estrenarse aún con los problemas que sucedieron en su desarrollo. Un saludo linda💗

Yo sí soy fans de Queen y pienso que la película estuvo muy ajustada como Biopic.
Bohemian Rhapsody es una canción emblemática de la agrupación pero, además, fue una revolución para el mundo musical.
Me alegra que hayas visto la pelicula y que la hayas disfrutado. Un dato es que Queen estuvo en Venezuela y brevemente ese detalle se menciona en la película. Te imaginas la emoción que sentimos los fans de la agrupación.

Esta puedo decir que es una película super buena pero la vi una sola vez y realmente dudo volverla a ver porque me toca todas las fibras sensible, mi pasión por la música y por supuesto el tema de la enfermedad de Freddy es algo terrible. Saludos 🤗
