Para poder hablarles sobre el género de películas que más me gusta tengo que trasladarme a uno cuantos años atrás cuando por primera vez llegó a mi casa un televisor, apenas era una niña como de 8 años de edad cuando vi la primera serie de televisión que se llamaba “Jesús de Nazaret” es una total coincidencia que hoy precisamente estemos conmemorando su día en plena semana santa. Recuerdo que todos nos sentábamos frente al televisor a las 6 de la tarde para verla. Para mí ha sido la mejor película de tema religioso que han podido crear en toda la vida del cine ya que contaron con lujo de detalles como fue la vida de Jesús desde su concepción hasta mucho después de su muerte.
In order to tell you about the genre of movies that I like the most, I have to go back a few years ago when for the first time a TV set came to my house, I was just a little girl about 8 years old when I saw the first TV series called "Jesus of Nazareth", it is a total coincidence that today we are commemorating its day in the middle of Easter week. I remember that we all sat in front of the TV set at 6 o'clock in the evening to watch it. For me it was the best movie with a religious theme that they could have created in the whole life of cinema since they told in great detail how Jesus' life was from his conception until long after his death.
Pensando en esto me doy cuenta que tengo que escoger sin lugar a dudas un género que me encanta y se llama cine biográfico. Investigando un poco sobre lo que trata este tema encontré que también le dicen “Biopic”.
Thinking about this I realize that I have to choose without a doubt a genre that I love and it is called biographical cinema. Researching a little about what this topic is about, I found that it is also called "Biopic".
Biopic es un género cinematográfico que se encarga de crear dramatizaciones de la vida de un personaje real o de una situación en concreto que ha marcado la vida de muchas personas para bien o para mal.

En este caso no hay distinción en hablar o contar una historia en positivo o negativo, simplemente se trata de contar los hechos tal cual cómo sucedieron. En este momento se me viene a la mente la cantidad de películas del cine que hablan sobre el Holocausto, estas películas han sido famosas ya que tocan el sufrimiento de una población por culpa de un ser humano malvado, sin alma, sin sentimientos y sin corazón.
In this case there is no distinction in speaking or telling a positive or negative story, it is simply telling the facts as they happened. At this moment it comes to my mind the number of movies that talk about the Holocaust, these movies have been famous because they touch the suffering of a population because of the Machiavellian mind of an evil human being, without soul, without feelings and without heart.
Películas como “La vida es bella” “La lista de Schindler” “El pianista” me han hecho llorar más de una vez y aun sabiendo que voy a sufrir al verla no puedo dejar de hacerlo.
Movies like "Life is Beautiful" "Schindler's List" "The Pianist" have made me cry more than once and even knowing that I am going to suffer while watching it I can't help but do so.
Pero no todo este género biográfico es triste o negativo, hoy les voy hablar de dos de mis favoritas, que aunque me siguen sacando unas cuantas lagrimas cada vez que las veo me gusta porque tienen un final feliz y nos muestra la realidad de personas que viven en nuestro entorno y muchas veces no las queremos ver.
But not all this biographical genre is sad or negative, today I'm going to talk about two of my favorites, that although they still make me cry every time I see them I like them because they have a happy ending and show us the reality of people who live in our environment and many times we don't want to see them.

El entrenador desea ayudar a este chico y darle la oportunidad que muchos le niegan por tener prejuicios sociales. La madre del chico lo ha sobreprotegido pero ella entiende que radio puede dar mucho más solo que un poco más lento que otros chicos de su edad.Su verdadero nombre es James pero todos le apodan Radio motivado a que le encanta la música y tiene una colección de estos instrumentos en casa. Poco a poco el entrenador se hace amigo de Radio y lo convence de ayudarlo en las prácticas con el equipo de futbol y también para que asista al colegio y aprenda a llevar una vida normal. En el transcurso de la película se suscitan una serie de eventos con distintos personajes que no están de acuerdo con que sus hijos se hagan amigos de una persona distinta a ellos.
The coach wants to help this boy and give him the opportunity that many deny him because of social prejudice. The boy's mother has overprotected him but she understands that Radium can give so much more just a little slower than other boys his age. His real name is James but everyone calls him Radio because he loves music and has a collection of these instruments at home. Gradually the coach befriends Radio and convinces him to help him in practice with the soccer team and also to attend school and learn to lead a normal life. During the course of the movie, a series of events take place with different characters who do not agree with their children becoming friends with a person different from them.

Sabías que The Pursuit of Happyness ("En busca de la felicidad") está basada en la historia real de Chris Gardner. Es una película estadounidense dirigida por Gabriele Muccino, protagonizada por Will Smith junto a su hijo Jaden Smith, que se estrenó en 2006 y ha sido todo un éxito de taquilla. Una vez más el cine nos trae una película exitosa, que mantiene el drama de principio a fin y que te sorprenderá al final.

La felicidad no es eterna, la felicidad son pequeños destellos de luz que se te pueden presentar en cualquier momento de tu vida. Este personaje construye día a día su futuro, lucha por una vida mejor para él y para su hijo, no se detiene ni se rinde ante nada.
Once again the cinema brings us a successful film that maintains the drama from beginning to end and that will surprise you at the end. Chris Gardner is a man whose life changes from one moment to the next, his home crumbles, the economic crisis overwhelms him, he loses everything suddenly except the will to move forward. This character and his young son face a series of situations that make you tremble. Perhaps many would say that this is what life is all about, problems, problems and more problems, but the difference between some people and others is how you stand before life and decide to move forward. Happiness is not eternal, happiness is small flashes of light that can appear at any moment of your life. This character builds his future day by day, he fights for a better life for himself and his son, he doesn't stop or give up on anything.
Como ven amigos estas dos películas cuentan la vida de dos seres humanos como tú y como yo y te dejan un mensaje positivo. A este tipo de cine también le podemos llamar cine conciencia o cine educativo.
As you can see, these two films tell the life of two human beings like you and me and leave you with a positive message. We can also call this kind of cinema conscience cinema or educational cinema.
Los biopics son películas que atraen a las masas, ya que a todos nos gusta enterarnos de la vida de esos personajes favoritos, ya sea cantante, actor, grupo o banda musical. Hoy en día gracias a la tecnología podemos conocer a detalle lo que hacen los artistas famosos, como es su comportamiento, como han alcanzado sus éxitos. Este pequeño detalle es lo que hace más difícil para los actores y directores que tratan de interpretar la vida de alguien famoso. Tal es el caso del drama musical “Selena” que narra la vida, carrera y asesinato de la estrella; la gente adoraba a esta chica, conocía sus bailes, cada paso, como era su vestuario, su maquillaje, por eso cuando la actriz Jennifer López interpretó este personaje sucedió algo importante. Por respeto al público se utilizaron grabaciones de voz originales de la cantante para las escenas donde Jennifer interpretaba las canciones de Selena.
Biopics are movies that appeal to the masses, since we all like to learn about the life of those favorite characters, whether singer, actor, group or band. Nowadays thanks to technology we can know in detail what famous artists do, how they behave, how they have achieved their successes. This small detail is what makes it more difficult for actors and directors who try to interpret the life of someone famous. Such is the case of the musical drama "Selena" that narrates the life, career and murder of the star; people adored this girl, knew her dances, every step, how was her wardrobe, her makeup, so when actress Jennifer Lopez played this character something important happened. Out of respect for the audience, original voice recordings of the singer were used for the scenes where Jennifer interpreted Selena's songs.

As you can see, biographical films narrate the lives, works, fears, triumphs and defeats of people who have touched and will continue to touch our hearts forever. Although they had a tragic and stormy life, they knew how to move forward and left a legacy that today remains an example for entire generations.
Muchos han llegado a pensar que la meca del cine se está quedando sin imaginación, asi que los escritores han tenido que apelar a este tipo de historias para llenar espacios vacíos. Pues al que piense asi le digo que está equivocado, hoy más que nunca hay personas conmigo que estamos de acuerdo en entender y ver las historias de esta manera. Queremos que se sigan escribiendo libros, queremos seguir viendo biografías, nos encanta disfrutar del cine y brindo por eso.

Todos sus amigos y su esposa se preocupan y hacen lo posible por salvarlo antes que sea demasiado tarde. Me encanta el personaje que interpreta Russell Crowe en esta película ya que se sale de lo que nos tiene acostumbrados y nos atrapa nuevamente con una historia real, muy humana.
All his friends and his wife care and do their best to save him before it's too late. I love the character played by Russell Crowe in this movie as he steps out of what we are used to and catches us again with a real, very human story.

Esta película es grandiosa, no tengo otra forma de catalogarla, en ella se cuenta la vida de una de las mentes más privilegiadas que ha conocido la humanidad pero contada de otra forma, no desde la parte científica sino de la parte tierna y humana de un hombre que amó, triunfó, luchó y no se dejó vencer ante una enfermedad cruel que le truncó su vida motora pero no detuvo sus pensamientos ni sus ideas.
This film is great, I have no other way to catalog it, it tells the life of one of the most privileged minds that humanity has known but told in another way, not from the scientific side but from the tender and human side of a man who loved, succeeded, fought and did not let himself be defeated by a cruel disease that truncated his motor life but did not stop his thoughts and ideas.
Stephen estudiaba la carrera de cosmología en la universidad de Cambridge, él deseaba profundamente demostrar de una forma científica como se había formado el universo, pero a los 21 años le diagnostican un trastorno que ataca las neuronas y los médicos le explican que en un futuro sus piernas y brazos dejarían de responder, limitando asi sus capacidad de caminar, escribir, estudiar y amar. A pesar que le dan dos años máximo de vida Stephen se casa, tiene hijos y vive una vida lo más normal posible. A medida que crecen sus limitaciones físicas su mente se expande, y gracias al apoyo de jane su esposa, termina el doctorado y llega a vivir muchísimos años más.
Stephen was studying cosmology at Cambridge University, he deeply wanted to demonstrate in a scientific way how the universe was formed, but at the age of 21 he was diagnosed with a disorder that attacks the neurons and the doctors explained that in the future his legs and arms would stop responding, thus limiting his ability to walk, write, study and love. Despite being given a maximum of two years to live, Stephen marries, has children and lives as normal a life as possible. As his physical limitations grow, his mind expands, and thanks to the support of his wife Jane, he finishes his doctorate and goes on to live many more years.

A mí me parece fantástico ver como era su vida, como su mente recreó e inventó historias increíbles, fantásticas, estupendas , maravillosas. De verdad que los invito a ver estas dos películas llenas de Amor, pasión, ternura y lo mejor de todo y que me encanta al verlas es viajar en el tiempo; ver las películas de época, su vestuario, sus grandes sombreros, su manera tan particular y educada al hablar. Sus buenas costumbres y lo que más me encantan son sus escenarios. Definitivamente creo que en otra vida tuve que nacer en esta época porque me fascina, me enamora.
I think it is fantastic to see what her life was like, how her mind recreated and invented incredible, fantastic, wonderful, marvelous stories. I really invite you to see these two films full of love, passion, tenderness and the best of all and what I love to see them is to travel back in time; to see the period films, their costumes, their big hats, their particular and polite way of speaking. Their good manners and what I love the most are their sceneries. I definitely believe that in another life I had to be born in this era because it fascinates me, it makes me fall in love with it.

Creo que nosotros como simples mortales nos encanta ver cómo estas personas viven, como transformaron sus vidas, como es su cotidianidad y porque luego de alcanzar el éxito, su vida se convirtió en un desastre. Creo que en cierto modo somos masoquistas porque sufrimos al ver este tipo de realidades.
I think we as mere mortals love to see how these people live, how they transformed their lives, how is their daily life and why after reaching success, their life became a disaster. I think in a way we are masochists because we suffer when we see these kinds of realities.
Aquí es donde mi pensamiento vuelve a preguntar una y otra vez ¿Por qué? Que hace que la vida de estas personas que llegan a ser tan inteligentes y famosas, bellas y afortunadas se turbe y pierdan el rumbo.
This is where my thoughts go back to asking over and over again, why? What makes the lives of these people who become so smart and famous, beautiful and fortunate become turbulent and lose their way.

Antes de despedirme por este día quise responder a esta pregunta ya que toca directamente lo que es el cine de mi país, “Azul y no tan rosa” del escritor Miguel Ferrari que habla de la vida, el amor y la familia. Aquí en mi país si se producían buenas películas, pero lamentablemente la crisis hizo que eso también haya desaparecido de nuestras vidas. Aquí los actores y actrices han tenido que emigrar en busca de oportunidades en tierras lejanas. Y lo peor es que los jóvenes como mi hijo Fabián quien ama la actuación y la música ha visto truncadas sus posibilidades de alcanzar su sueño. Esperemos que todo esto pase pronto y Venezuela vuelva a ser un país potencia en todos los sentidos.
Before saying goodbye for this day I wanted to answer this question since it directly touches what is the cinema of my country, "Azul y no tan rosa" by the writer Miguel Ferrari that talks about life, love and family. Here in my country good movies were produced, but unfortunately the crisis made that also disappeared from our lives.
