INTRODUCTION
Hello my dear Hivers, today I have the pleasure of joining the contest #3 of the Movies & TV Shows Community which is actually the second of the contests in which I have participated in this community which is my favorite.
This time we are asked about what is the best horror movie we have ever seen. This particular contest has been somewhat difficult for me since I have seen a lot of horror movies, since I have liked this kind of stories since I was a kid.
It has always been my one of my favorite genres although I admit that I have a bad memory to remember some titles, plus lately it is also not that easy to find a horror movie that is really good, by the way never search Netflix for films of this genre almost all of them are bad.
When I was a kid my parents had a huge collection of cassettes with traditional stories and myths from Venezuela. There were many legends that shocked me in those nights with my brothers, because they were audios we had to imagine every scene and the fear that their protagonists felt.
So I have been researching in my childhood looking for titles that from some perspective have caused me fear or impact and I have found a title that is worth remembering. I don't know if it's the best I've seen in my life, but it was one of the first ones that had an impact on me, even though as an adult it doesn't have the same effect, I want to share with you why it was really scary when I saw it for the first time.
INTRODUCCIÓN
Hola mis queridos Hivers, hoy tengo el placer de unirme al concurso #3 de la Comunidad Movies & TV Shows que en realidad es el segundo de los concursos en los que he participado en esta comunidad la cual es mi favorita.
En esta oportunidad se nos pregunta acerca de cuál es la mejor película de terror que jamás hayamos visto. Este concurso en particular ha sido algo difícil para mi puesto que he visto muchas películas de terror, ya que desde que era niño me han gustado este tipo de historias.
Siempre ha sido mi uno de mis géneros favoritos aunque admito que tengo mala memoria para recordar algunos títulos, además últimamente tampoco es que sea muy fácil encontrar una película de terror que sea realmente buena, por cierto nunca busquen en Netflix filmes de este género casi todas son malas.
Cuando era niño mis padres tenían una colección inmensa de Casetes con historias tradicionales y mitos propios de Venezuela. Había muchas leyendas que me impactaron en aquellas noches junto a mis hermanos, por ser audios teníamos que imaginar cada escena y el miedo que sentían sus protagonistas.
Así que he estado investigando en mi infancia buscando títulos que desde alguna perspectiva me hayan causado miedo o impacto y me he encontrado con un título que vale la pena recordar. No sé si sea la mejor que he visto en mi vida, pero si fue una de las primeras que me impacto aunque ya de adulto no surta el mismo efecto, quiero compartirles porque fue realmente aterradora cuando la vi por primera vez.

It has a running time of 1:40 minutes and starred Ryan Kwanten, Judith Roberts, Bob Gunto, Donnie Wahlberg and Amber Valletta.
The best parts of the film are set to the spectacular music directed by Charlie Clouser and the somber atmosphere of the story was thanks to the photography which was in charge of John R. Leonetti.

Synopsis
The Story is about Jamie Ashen (Ryan Kwanten) a man traumatized by the tragic murder of his wife Lisa (Laura Reagan) who he believes was brutally killed by a ventriloquist's dummy that has been mysteriously left on his doorstep. Accused by Detective Lipton (Donnie Wahlberg) of being the prime suspect in his wife's death he decides to travel in search of answers and heads to his hometown of Raven's Fair and visit his father Edward (Bob Gunton) from whom he has been estranged all his life and who is now married to a strange woman named Ella (Amber Valletta), to unravel the mystery surrounding his family and the murky history of Mary Shaw (Judith Roberts) and her wooden dummies.
Mary Shaw was a ventriloquist who put on shows in our protagonist's hometown, all seemed to be going well until one day one of Jamie's ancestors accuses Mary of lying as he sees her move her mouth. This infuriates the ventriloquist and days later the child disappears in strange circumstances, the child's relatives begin a revenge that will include cutting out her tongue and murdering the woman of the wooden dolls.
With Mary Shaw's death, the 100 dolls in her possession are buried next to her grave, but a curse haunts the inhabitants of Raven's Fair, who are terrorized by constant murders and especially Jamie's family, whom the spirit of the ventriloquist has sworn to destroy.
Sinopsis
El Títere es acerca de Jamie Ashen (Ryan Kwanten) un hombre traumatizado por el trágico homicidio de su esposa Lisa (Laura Reagan) la cual a su parecer fue brutalmente asesinada por un muñeco de ventrílocuo que ha sido misteriosamente dejado en su puerta. Acusado por el detective Lipton (Donnie Wahlberg) por ser el principal sospechoso de la muerte de su esposa decide viajar en busca de respuestas y se dirige a su pueblo natal de Raven's Fair y visitar a su padre Edward (Bob Gunton) del cual ha estado alejado toda su vida y que ahora está casado con una extraña mujer llamada Ella (Amber Valletta), para desentrañar el misterio que rodea a su familia y la turbia historia de Mary Shaw (Judith Roberts) y sus muñecos de madera.
Mary Shaw era una ventrílocua que daba espectáculos en el pueblo natal de nuestro protagonista, todo parecía ir bien hasta que un día uno de los antepasados de Jamie acusa a Mary de mentir ya que ve como mueve su boca. Esto enfurece a la ventrílocua y días después desaparece el niño en extrañas circunstancias, los familiares del niño comienzan una venganza que incluirá cortarle la lengua y asesinar a la mujer de los muñecos de madera.
Con la muerte de Mary Shaw los 100 muñecos de su posesión son enterrados juntos a su tumba, pero una maldición persigue a los habitantes de Raven's Fair que son aterrorizados con constantes asesinatos y sobre todo a la familia de Jamie a quien el espíritu de la ventrílocua ha jurado destruir.
My Take
Everything about this movie seems perfect to scare kids a scary poem and slow Halloween style music intermingle beautifully. And the first time I saw this one I was a kid, so it kept me glued to the screen the whole time.
The story of a spirit's revenge is very interesting; I remember having nightmares of people with mutilated tongues for several nights. The setting of the movie is very mysterious and gloomy everything immerses you in the plot.
What I found most frightening was the way in which I imagined the bodies being dismembered to turn them into puppets, I remember a particular scene where the character of Henry played by actor Michael Fairman and in his childhood by Keir Gilchrist, walks through the basement where his dad who is a kind of town coroner prepares the body of Mary Shaw and tries to see her mummified body and in a bad maneuver the body of the ventriloquist ends up falling on the boy, it was really disturbing this scene for me when I was a kid.
Mi Opinión
Todo en esta película parece perfecto para asustar a los niños un poema aterrador y una música lenta al estilo de Halloween se entremezclan maravillosamente. Y la primera vez que vi este era un niño, por lo cual me mantuvo todo el tiempo pegado a la pantalla.
La historia de la venganza de un espíritu es muy interesante, recuerdo tener pesadillas con gente con la lengua mutilada por varias noches. La ambientación de la película es muy misteriosa y lúgubre todo te sumerge en la trama.
Lo que más aterrador me pareció fue la manera en la cual imaginaba los cuerpos siendo desmembrados para convertirlos en títeres, recuerdo una escena en particular donde el personaje de Henry interpretado por el actor Michael Fairman y en su infancia por Keir Gilchrist, camina por el sótano donde su papa quien es una especie de Forense del pueblo prepara el cuerpo de Mary Shaw e intenta ver su cuerpo momificado y en una mala maniobra el cuerpo de la ventrílocua termina cayendo encima del niño, fue realmente inquietante esta escena para mí cuando era un crio.
But being an adult now I admit that the story is very familiar, it's like a tribute to classic horror films like Child's Plays where a killer doll kills the entire cast. It's hard to connect with Jamie's pain and I think that cost the story a lot of believability. However it was regular work for a director like James Wan known for pieces like Saw, The Conjuring, Anabelle and most recently for directing the DC Universe blockbuster Aquaman.
The critics were merciless with a film that has become a cult film for horror lovers so Leigh Whannell the writer of this story wrote in 2010 an essay in her blog titled "Dead Silence: The Hellish Experience of Making a Bad Horror Film", where she basically disavowed her work as creator of this blip in her career, it seems to me that this film despite its poor creation of the characters that make it up and the absence of redeemable dialogue is not so bad although it could have been better.
There is something quaint and charming in the affection of the filmmakers for their source of inspiration, that's why the feeling of "ah I've already seen this" makes fear diluted, a fatal flaw for a horror film. However, it did make an impression on me when I was a kid, I would watch it again, after all I am a fan of this type of film that with a few exceptions has lost its ability to shock, however I think we are hungry for more horror stories. Dead Silence is there and has a place in the hearts of millions of fans who don't trust the reviews and give it a good score.
Pero siendo ya adulto admito que la historia es muy familiar, es como un tributo al cine clásico de terror como Child’s Plays donde un muñeco asesino mata a todo el elenco. Es difícil conectar con el dolor de Jamie y creo que eso le costó mucha credibilidad a la historia. Sin embargo fue un trabajo regular para un director como James Wan conocido por piezas como Saw, El Conjuro, Anabelle y más recientemente por dirigir la Exitosa pelicula del universo DC Aquaman.
La crítica fue despiadada con un filme que se ha convertido en una película de culto para los amantes del terror por lo que Leigh Whannell la escritora de esta historia escribió en 2010 un ensayo en su blog titutalo "Dead Silence: The Hellish Experience of Making a Bad Horror Film", donde básicamente renegaba de su trabajo como creadora de este bache en su carrera, me parece que esta película a pesar de su pobre creación de los personajes que la conforman y la ausencia de diálogos rescatables no es tan mala aunque pudo ser mejor.
Hay algo pintoresco y encantador en el afecto de los cineastas por su fuente de inspiración, es por eso que la sensación de “ah esto ya lo vi” hace que miedo se diluya, un defecto fatal para una película de terror. Sin embargo en mi sí que causo impresión era un niño, la volvería a ver al final de cuentas soy un adepto a este tipo de cine que con unas pocas excepciones ha perdido su capacidad de impactar, sin embargo creo que estamos ávidos de más historias de terror. Dead Silence está allí y tiene un lugar en el corazón de millones de fans que no se fia en las críticas y le da una buena puntuación.

Me gustaría tener un muñeco igual. Estas pelis son muy divertidas.
Ya no me da miedo, pero recuerdo con mucho cariño a Chucky. la ultima película de terror que me impacto fue Anabell la creación, porque sentí que el trabajo de los niños estuvo increíble y la vi en el cine. Pero la verdad soy muy exigente y casi nada me da miedo.
Me encanta, uff que de años, la Vi pequeña y me aterraba, vivía con miedo a todos mis juguetes, fui creciendo y la volví a ver abrazada de mi nana, la verdad es tremenda película una vez que te enfocas en los efectos visuales y los maquillajes lo notas. Saludos, un abrazo.

Este muñeco es horrible, no se quien puede tener uno igual, pero por mi, bien lejos con el. La película es excelente y causa verdadero terror, por eso creo que no quiero nada con un muñeco de estos. Gran publicación. Saludos.
