If it wasn't for the fact that this movie was released a short time ago, I would have thought I had seen it before because after half of the movie the feeling that I had already seen everything I was watching was gigantic, even with the ending, I still have the feeling of having seen the movie before, but I know I haven't, it's the first time, so I will have to endure this feeling until I forget about the movie, if I manage to do it, I'm thankful I saw the movie in the morning as soon as I woke up because if I had seen it at night before going to sleep, I wouldn't have slept at all, not because I would have been afraid, but because my mind would have been very excited by what I had just seen, but I don't think that would happen to me anymore, because with Smile I was in a state of ecstasy and fear completely, but I could sleep anyway, although I have to thank the medication for that.
The premise of Barbarian is very simple, nothing out of this world: Tess arrives in the middle of the night at the Airbnb she rented, only to find out that it was already rented and occupied by someone else; with all the suspicion in the world, Tess decides to accept Keith's offer to stay that night and then together try to figure out what to do, since both rented the house correctly, it is not anyone's fault, the night passes and the next day madness breaks out, the house has many secrets, more than we think, that will only make her stay a living hell.
Si no es porque esta película tiene poco tiempo de haberse estrenado hubiera creído que la he visto antes, porque después de la mitad de la película la sensación de que ya había visto todo lo que estaba viendo eran gigantes, incluso con el final, aún tengo la sensación de haber visto la película antes, pero sé que no lo he hecho, es primera vez, así que me tendré que aguantar esta sensación hasta que me olvide de la película, si es que logro hacerlo, pues agradezco haber visto la película en la mañana apenas me desperté, porque si la hubiera visto en la noche antes de dormir, no hubiera dormido nada, no porque hubiera tenido miedo, si no porque mi mente hubiera quedado muy excitada por lo que acababa de ver, pero creo que eso ya no me pasaría, pues con Smile quedé en un estado de éxtasis y miedo por completo, pero pude dormir de todas formas, aunque debo agradecerle eso a la medicación.
La premisa de Barbarian es muy simple, nada del otro mundo: Tess llega en medio de la noche al Airbnb que rentó, solo para enterarse de que ya estaba rentando y ocupado por alguien más; con todas las sospechas del mundo, Tess decide aceptar la oferta de Keith de quedarse esa noche y después juntos tratar de averiguar qué hacer, pues ambos rentaron correctamente la casa, no es culpa de ninguno, la noche pasa y al día siguiente la locura se desata, la casa tiene muchos secretos, más de los que creemos, que solo harán su estadía un infierno en vida.
Barbarian only gets better the longer it goes on, I had a lot of doubts at the beginning, and the initial scene where Tess and Keith meet felt very forced, I'll just say that Bill Skarsgård was always beautiful and gorgeous, I melted with him, but I continue, I don't know if it was too real or unreal, but that whole process where Tess doubted Keith, decides to stay, they spend the night talking, it was very weird, it felt forced, I think that's what is most out of tune with the movie, although I understand why they did it because in short, that's what the movie is about, the insecurity that constantly surrounds women and how any situation can become dangerous at any moment even if they think they are surrounded by people they can trust.
Here I come back to one of my favorite sayings: man is not people, although we are going to find out about that later, because Keith is everything good in the world, at least as far as we are allowed to see, because the movie has two cuts, each cut happens at the moment when the situation is most exciting, each cut proceeds to tell us a different story that sooner or later will end up joining the main story that the movie is telling us, and it's frustrating, because just when everything is making sense, when everything is coming together, no, they come, they make a cut in the plot and start telling us something completely different that while it gives us new data and new contexts surrounding the house where everything is taking place, it's frustrating, but surely many people appreciated those cuts because it allowed them to take a break from all the intensity and terror of what was happening.
Barbarian solo se pone mejor mientras más tiempo transcurre, tuve muchas dudas al principio, la escena inicial donde Tess y Keith se conocen la sentí muy forzada, solo diré que Bill Skarsgård siempre estuvo bello y precioso, me derretí con él, pero continúo, no sé si es que fue demasiado real o irreal, pero todo ese proceso en el que Tess dudaba de Keith, decide quedarse, pasan la noche hablando, fue muy raro, lo sentí forzado, creo que eso es lo que más desentona con la película, aunque entiendo que lo hayan hecho porque en resumidas cuentas de eso trata la película, de la inseguridad que rodea constantemente a las mujeres y cómo toda situación puede llegar a ser peligrosa en cualquier momento aunque crean que están rodeadas de personas en las que pueden confiar.
Aquí vuelvo con uno de mis dichos favoritos: hombre no es gente, aunque de eso nos vamos a enterar despues, porqie Keith es todo lo bueno que existe en el mundo, al menos hasta donde nos dejan ver, porque la película tiene dos cortes, cada corte ocurre en el momento en que más emocionante está la situación, cada corte procede a contarnos una historia diferente que tarde o temprano terminará uniéndose a la historia principal que nos está contando la película, y es frustrante, porque justo cuando todo está tomando sentido, cuando todo está encajando, no, vienen, hacen un corte en la trama y nos comienzan a contar algo completamente diferente que si bien nos da nuevos datos y nuevos contextos que rodean a la casa donde todo está teniendo lugar, es frustrante, pero seguro mucha gente agradeció esos cortes porque les permitió tomar un respiro de toda la intensidad y el terror de lo que estaba sucediendo.
Surely there are many films out there that would serve as inspiration for the creation of Barbarian, in terms of the plot and the scenes that cause terror, the character of fear itself, because I know it hasn't been used much lately, at least not in productions that I've seen, so I think that's why I keep having that feeling that I've seen Barbarian before. However, I think that's more because I saw Smile recently. Both films have a similarity in common in the way they used to show the horror factor, the cause of the fear, but even then it's not enough of a resource for the feeling of having seen it before to span so much of the film's running time.
Another thing I wanted to tell you is that the movie has many plot twists that will make everything you believe about the movie change constantly, I said it at the beginning, the initial scene I couldn't stand it, but I continued watching the movie, and all the changes made the initial opinion I had of the movie change completely, then come more changes than we expect and everything becomes a total nightmare of how good it ends up being, although it does have scenes that border the limits on what logic can get to explain or justify, none of that matters in a horror movie.
Seguramente hay por ahí muchas películas que servirían de inspiración para la creación de Barbarian, en cuanto al argumento y a las escenas que causan terror, al caracter de miedo en sí, porque sé que no se haya usado mucho últimamente, al menos no en producciones que haya visto, entonces creo que por eso es que sigo teniendo esa sensación de que ya había visto Barbarian antes, aunque creo que eso es más porque vi Smile hace poco y ambas películas tienen un parecido en común en la forma en que utilizaron mostrar el factor terror, la causa del miedo, pero incluso así no es recurso suficiente como para que la sensación de haberla visto antes abarque tanto tiempo de duración de la película.
Otra cosa que les quería decir es que la película tiene muchos giros en la trama que harán que todo lo que creas sobre la película cambie constantemente, lo dije al principio, la escena inicial no la soporté, pero continué viendo la película, y todos los cambios hicieron que la opinión inicial que tenía de la película cambiara por completo, después vienen más cambios de los que esperamos y todo se convierte en una pesadilla total de lo bueno que termina siendo, aunque sí tiene escenas que rozan los límites sobre lo que la lógica puede llegar a explicar o justificar, pero nada de eso importa en una película de terror.

The trailer is perfect, I would tell you not to watch it, but if you are already reading all these reviews watching the trailer won't hurt you and it won't make you stop enjoying the movie or know too much, because even if I said many things, they are very few compared to everything the film has to give us, if I said everything I want, I would put in writing the analysis of what this movie has to tell us I would ruin the experience for all those people who don't like spoilers.
Hubo una escena que casi no pude ver del asco que me provocó, no fue tanto el miedo ni lo surreal de la situación, porque sí es sumamente traumante, pero no, fue más el asco que todo lo demás de lo que vi, y no solo asco visual, muchas veces tan solo podemos llegar a imaginar el olor del lugar y ese olor es más asqueroso mientras más datos obtenemos de lo que está sucediendo, es horrible, comienzo a analizar verdaderamente todo y es peor cada vez más, que película tan buena con ese mensaje y trama de trasfondo, tienen que verla con urgencia, la amo con locura cada vez más.
El trailer es perfecto, les diría que no lo vieran, pero si ya leyendo toda esta reseña ver el trailer no les hará daño y tampoco hará que dejen de disfrutar la película o sepan demasiado, pues si bien dije muchas cosas, son muy pocas comparado con todo lo que tiene la película para darnos, pues si dijera todo lo que quiero, pusiera por escrito el análisis de lo que tiene para decirnos esta película arruinaría la experiencia para toda esa gente que no les gustan los spoilers.

Este es uno de los mejores films que he visto en el año, sí, así mismo; del año.
Me gustó todo sobre este film, la manera de relatar todas las historias de los personajes, la dirección, las actuaciones, los villanos, muy buena película.

Tuviste razón con Smile y lo más seguro es que la tengas con esta, también por ahí cuando busqué el trailer me gustó mucho lo que vi así que, agendada para el siguiente finde, además de que es con el papuchito del Eso (no me voy a arriesgar a escribir ese no te xD).
