It was so good that in 2016 New Line Cinema bought the rights to the film and I plan to make a film directed by him. Alejandro Hidalgo himself, was also so good that in 2017 South Korea obviously decided to make a remake of this film, which came under the title “the house of the disappeared” or “house of the disappeared”.

The film tells the story of a family where the main character is Dulce, the mother of two children named Leopoldo and Rodrigo, the role of candy played by Rudy Rodríguez, a well-known actress in Venezuela who as a curious fact was Miss Venezuela in 1985 .

The story begins with Mrs. Dulce beaten and without knowing what happened, seeing how her husband is on the ground practically dead and bleeding from a wound from a knife in his shoulder, and her eldest son Leopoldo disappear in front of her eyes through a door as if Someone will pull it, after this the film sends us 30 years later where it is obviously easy to understand that they sentenced her to the greater penalty for the alleged death of her husband and the disappearance of her son, the strangest thing that I did not like, was that due to the laws of Venezuela, as the lady is already of advanced age, they give her the opportunity to get out of jail to live as someone who says her last days where everything happened and watched by two policemen who spend her time sleeping or making an interpretation of bad cops.

From now on the director wraps us in a story of terror and suspense showing us part of the past and the present to be able to intertwine and find the mystery of who killed her husband and who took her little son Leopoldo, this would be practically the synopsis and to go into more detail would be to reveal the mysteries of the house, so you better watch the movie.

The performance of the protagonist, playing Mrs. Dulce is quite good, she being the one who carries all the burden as the protagonist of the film, the little boy Leopoldo also has a very acceptable performance but the rest of the actors have too regular performances.

In general, the film is very good, ignoring those details that are very understandable for a very low-budget film, the best of all and the most remarkable thing it has is the script, the story and the drama that surrounds this mystery, it is a film highly recommended that you are going to surprise us and wonder, just as I asked myself the same question when I saw this movie, what would have happened if this movie had had a bigger budget or the co-production of a Hollywood big house, I hope you agree with me that it would have been a real box office success.

I remember watching and enjoying this film a lot. This proves there is a lot of talent in Venezuela and Latin America. I have seen 2 films from Venezuela in my life, and this was one of them. Hopefully, this country can recover soon and become prosperous again, and who knows, maybe continue to create great films in the future.
