Welcome my fellow travelers of the internet lovers of terror, and many thanks for making a temporary stop in my post, how you will know I am a lover of horror movies but it is the genre that most disappoints me because many of its exponents are simply unfortunate, but I don't lose the faith, and that is why I am always in a constant search of new tapes as we come together today called "The Wretched" which is about witches and things related to it. Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros del internet amantes del terror y muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, cómo sabrán soy un amante del cine de terror pero a su vez es el género que más me decepciona debido a que muchos de sus exponentes son sencillamente lamentables, pese a lo anterior no pierdo la fe y es por ello que siempre estoy en una constante búsqueda de nuevas cintas como la que nos reúne hoy llamada "The Wretched" la cual trata de brujas y cosas afines. Sin más que agregar preparen la sal que estamos por enfrentarnos a una terrible bruja.
The Wretched was released in 2019, directed by Brett Pierce and Drew T. Pierce and produced by Cailleach Productions, has a duration of 1 hour and 36 minutes. It is a story of horror and thriller, it tells us about the life of Ben, a teenager that goes to spend the summer with his father, in the village where it is situated begin to happen strange things in the woods that are near the neighborhood, a place where you will realize that there is a force paranormal dangerous for all people.
The Wretched fue estrenada en 2019, dirigida por Brett Pierce y Drew T. Pierce y producida por Cailleach Productions, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 36 minutos. Es una historia de terror y suspenso, se nos narra la vida de Ben un adolescente el cual va a pasar el verano con su padre, en el pueblo donde se encuentra comienzan a pasar cosas extrañas en los bosques que están cerca del vecindario, lugar en donde se dará cuenta de que existe una fuerza paranormal peligrosa para todas las personas.

The soundtrack is what you would expect from a movie with these genres, it gives a good amount of suspense and provides a good musical accompaniment for the different scenes that he has, is exactly what this type of film you need to.
La banda sonora es lo que puedas esperar de una película con estos géneros, da buena cantidad de suspenso y proporciona un buen acompañamiento musical para las diferentes escenas que posee, es exactamente lo que este tipo de filmes necesita.

En este punto es donde se empiezan a notar las carencias de esta cinta, los suburbios y demás son exactamente lo que te puedes esperar, no hay ninguna clase de drama con ello, el problema nace con los temas sobrenaturales los cuales tienen una exploración casi nula y se supone que son un elemento importante de la película teniendo una falta de presencia muy notoria que termina afectando al filme puesto que uno de sus elementos importantes no recibe el enfoque que debería, a esto se le suma el hecho de que en ningún momento hace nada con todos los simbolismos que presenta siendo que les da enfoque nulo y queda como potencial desaprovechado.
The plot is extremely slow, takes time to be able to present something that will explain what is what which is supposed to be going, leaving much of the film without understanding nothing, absolutely nothing, is lack of logic in his narrative, tries to be compensated with scenes grotesque that doesn't lead to anything. It has an interesting premise that talks about those who were forgotten are devoured which could have given some psychological element but it takes a lot to use this resource and not get to stick it in decent shape, ergo, when the truth is already very late to develop it and end up feeling forced to the point that the scenes that are supposed to reveal the plot twist seem a resource added last minute was not thought out well.
La trama es sumamente lenta, se toma su tiempo para poder presentar algo que te explique qué es lo que se supone que está pasando dejando mucho tiempo del filme sin que se entienda absolutamente nada, está carencia de lógica en su narrativa intenta ser compensada con escenas grotescas que no llevan a nada. Tiene una premisa interesante que habla sobre los que fueron olvidados son devorados lo cual le pudo haber dado cierto elemento psicológico pero tarda mucho en usar este recurso y no consigue encajarlo de forma decente, ergo, a la hora de la verdad ya es muy tarde para desarrollarlo y termina sintiéndose forzado al punto de que las escenas que se supone que revelan el giro argumental parecen un recurso añadido de último minuto que no fue pensado bien.
Nothing to note here, the typical teenager who is facing something evil you don't understand and no one believes him until almost the end of the tape, the rest is cannon fodder without value or importance, as a cherry on the dessert is the witch that is out there, do things, and is supposed to be scary, in synthesis a section very disappointing.
Nada que destacar aquí, el típico adolescente que se enfrenta a algo maligno que no entiende y nadie le cree hasta casi el final de la cinta, el resto es carne de cañón sin valor ni importancia, como cereza sobre el postre está la bruja que está ahí, hace cosas y se supone que es atemorizante, en síntesis un apartado muy decepcionante.
The Wretched don't know how to trace the right path for your plot so that is ends up being a item that feels incomplete with a premise that it takes time to develop better due to that it feels rushed, the fact that the characters are terribly forgettable does not help at all. That is why it deserves 1.5 stars 7, adds to the long list of films from horror mediocre.
The Wretched no sabe cómo trazar el camino correcto para su trama por lo que está termina siendo un elemento que se siente incompleto con una premisa a la que le hace falta tiempo para desarrollarse mejor debido a que se siente apresurada, el hecho de que los personajes sean terriblemente olvidables no ayuda en lo absoluto. Es por ello que merece 1.5 estrellas de 7, se suma a la larga lista de filmes de terror mediocre.

Podrías probar un poco más con el terror coreano, o asiático en general. Tal vez pueda que encuentre más material interesante. En mi caso recuerdo al filme "El fotógrafo", más por haberla visto por la noche.
Recuerdo una de terror llamada el hada de los dientes, no era demasiado buena, pero la historia de fondo, era bastante dramática. Puedes llegar a darle la razón más al monstruo por ser el malo que a las víctimas que intentaban huir.
He visto algunos filmes asiáticos de terror y me gusta la forma diferente en como hacen las cosas, de hecho tengo pendiente por ver el filme "Forgotten" es coreano si mal no recuerdo y sinceramente parece prometer bastante. Veré ambos filmes que mencionas, pueden tener algo bueno que ofrecer pese a que tengan una que otra carencia.
