Welcome my dear magical travelers of the internet and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, as it is already quite known, I am an occasional fan of anime, every now and then I like to enjoy some animation from the Japanese country, that is why today we are reunited with "Cardcaptor Sakura" which is considered a classic within the mahou shoujo genre so obviously I should give it a chance. Without further ado, get ready to get your hands on all the Clow cards because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros mágicos del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, como ya es bastante conocido, soy un fanático ocasional del anime, cada tanto me gusta disfrutar de alguna animación procedente del país nipón, es por ello que hoy nos reúne "Cardcaptor Sakura" la cual es considerada un clásico dentro del género mahou shoujo así que obviamente debía darle una oportunidad. Sin más que agregar, prepárense para hacerse con todas las cartas Clow pues estamos por comenzar.
Cardcaptor Sakura was released in 1998, it is based on the homonymous manga created by CLAMP and first published in 1996, it was directed by Morio Asaka, produced by Madhouse, it has a total of 70 chapters. It is an animation of magical fantasy, romance and adventure, the story focuses on Sakura Kinomoto, a girl who is in the 4th grade of elementary school, one day, curious in her house, she ends up in the basement where she finds a strange book and various letters, however, when she touches them, they are scattered outside, sooner rather than later he learns that they are a very powerful invention of the magician Clow and the guardian of them assigns him the task of collecting them before they fall into the wrong hands, an assignment for which he will have to rely on family, friends and rivals if he wants to complete it successfully.
Cardcaptor Sakura fue estrenada en 1998, se basa en el manga homónimo creado por CLAMP y publicado por primera vez en 1996, fue dirigido por Morio Asaka, producido por Madhouse, cuenta con un total de 70 capítulos. Es una animación de fantasía mágica, romance y aventura, la historia se centra en Sakura Kinomoto una niña que cursa el 4to grado de la primaria, un día, curioseando en su casa, va a parar al sótano en donde se encuentra con un extraño libro y diversas cartas, no obstante, al tocarlas, estas se dispersan al exterior, más temprano que tarde se entera que las mismas son una invención muy poderosa del mago Clow y el guardián de las mismas le asigna la tarea de recolectarlas antes de que caigan en malas manos, asignación para la que tendrá que apoyarse de familiares, amigos y rivales si quiere completarla de forma exitosa.

The animation is not bad, we are talking about an anime that is almost 30 years old so you cannot be very demanding, despite its obvious limitations for the time, it looks moderately good within what fits, it tries to be colorful with some somewhat more detailed and complex moments which gives an interesting result, His ambitious intention is to be applauded.
La animación no está mal, hablamos de un anime que tiene casi 30 años por lo que no se puede ser muy exigente, pese a sus obvias limitaciones por la época, se ve medianamente bien dentro de lo que cabe, intenta ser vistoso con algunos momentos algo más detallados y complejos lo que da un resultado interesante, es de aplaudir su ambiciosa intención.
The soundtrack quickly becomes repetitive, it does not have great innovation nor does it have a notable presence throughout the series, it is limited to being an uninteresting accompaniment without much to contribute.
La banda sonora se torna repetitiva rápidamente, la misma no tiene gran innovación ni tampoco tiene una presencia destacable a lo largo de la serie, la misma se limita a ser un acompañamiento poco interesante y sin mucho que aportar.
The world building is very poor, the fact of the importance of magic in said world is constantly mentioned but the topic is never explored in any way, the only information we have are small flashbacks that constitute or fleeting dialogues, apart from that, its setting feels empty and without any kind of interesting development.
La construcción de mundo es muy pobre, constantemente se menciona el hecho de la importancia de la magia en dicho mundo pero nunca se explora el tema de ninguna forma, la única información que se tiene son pequeños flashback que constituyen o diálogos fugaces, fuera de ello, su ambientación se siente vacía y sin ninguna clase de desarrollo interesante.
The plot is quite meh, it has the formula of the enemy of the week who they must defeat for causing problems, apart from that there is nothing else. Narratively it is very poor, there is no kind of exploration or anything similar, it remains insipid most of the time and when interesting topics such as depression, mourning the death of a family member, the weight of responsibility, among other things, are included, it is not given a mature treatment to be able to address these topics seriously. That is why this anime is long and even repetitive, which makes it tedious.
La trama es bastante meh, la misma tiene la fórmula del enemigo de la semana al cual deben derrotar por estar causando problemas, fuera de ello no hay más nada. Narrativamente es muy pobre, no existe ninguna clase de exploración ni nada que se le asemeje, se mantiene insípida la mayor parte del tiempo y cuando se incluyen temas interesantes como la depresión, el luto por la muerte de un familiar, el peso de la responsabilidad, entre otras cosas, no se le da un trato maduro para poder abordar dichos temas con seriedad. Es por ello que este anime se hace largo y resulta hasta repetitivo lo que lo hace tedioso.
The characters don't have much to offer, the vast majority don't even have a decent exploration, the curious thing is that many have hints of having an interesting background, but it is never fully delved into, which ends up being a shame and a waste. The antagonist that is presented also does not have much to offer, he is flat and without any element that makes him stand out in any way.
Los personajes no tienen mucho para ofrecer, la amplia mayoría no tiene una exploración siquiera decente, lo curioso es que muchos tienen indicios de tener un trasfondo interesante, mas nunca se ahonda en ello de lleno, lo que termina siendo una lástima y un desperdicio. El antagonista que se presenta tampoco tiene mucho para ofrecer, es plano y sin ningún elemento que lo haga destacar de alguna forma.
Cardcaptor Sakura is a cult series for being one of the first of its genre, however, it is not a work of art by any means, it has some striking elements that improve the Maho Shoujo formula but they are not enough to make it a deep or complex series. It is for all of the above that it deserves 2.5 stars out of 7, it is not a mess, but it does have various flaws that make it less interesting, only recommended for those who enjoy the genre as such.
Cardcaptor Sakura es una serie de culto por ser de las primeras de su género, no obstante, no es una obra de arte ni mucho menos, tiene algunos elementos llamativos que mejoran la formula de los Maho Shoujo pero no son suficientes para hacerla una serie profunda ni compleja. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2.5 estrellas de 7, no es un bodrio, pero sí tiene diversos fallos que la hacen menos interesante, solo recomendada para aquellos que disfruten el género como tal.
