Greetings my fellow movie and tv show lovers! I’m back again to give a review on one of my favorite movies- ”Gunpowder Milkshake”
I had this movie on my laptop for months before I watched it earlier this year. A typical case of watching newly released movies and forgetting the old ones.

Tuve esta película en mi computadora portátil durante meses antes de verla a principios de este año. Un caso típico de ver películas recién estrenadas y olvidarse de las antiguas.
About the movie/ Sobre la película
This is a 2021 action movie about a young assassin woman who must reunite and team up with her estranged assassin mother and her former friends to save an eight year old girl from their rivals who happen to be assassins as well which are led by the head of the HR department for “The Firm”. This is basically an action movie centered around three generations of women.

Esta es básicamente una película de acción centrada en tres generaciones de mujeres

Gunpowder Milkshake? What a weird name for a movie.
I don’t know if it’s just me but this movie gave off “John Wick” vibes. For example there was a neutral ground in which shots couldn’t be fired which was known as “The Diner”, this is similar to “The Continental” in the John Wick movies. A diner open to just assassins and a hospital dedicated to assassins as well.

No sé si soy solo yo, pero esta película emitió vibraciones de "John Wick". Por ejemplo, había un terreno neutral en el que no se podían disparar tiros que se conocía como “The Diner”, esto es similar a “The Continental” en las películas de John Wick. Un restaurante abierto solo para asesinos y un hospital dedicado también a asesinos.
I was thinking the movie would focus more on the feminity of the characters since most of the major characters were women but it didn’t. They were more focused on the action, revenge, fighting and moulding the women into killing machines and assassins. It’s all action and no story. Blood, guts and more blood? Of course there’s enough to round!
The Librarians resembled the fairies from the movie “Sleeping Beauty” as they’re in the colors of Blue, Red and Green. Meanwhile they’re quite the opposite! They’re badass women who know their way around guns, knives and other dangerous weapons. It’s so cool that their “Sanctuary/Library” is filled with books that are each embedded with weapons in each chamber of the building.A Library being disguised as a weapons armoury!
Estaba pensando que la película se centraría más en la feminidad de los personajes, ya que la mayoría de los personajes principales eran mujeres, pero no fue así. Estaban más centrados en la acción, la venganza, la lucha y moldeando a las mujeres para convertirlas en máquinas de matar y asesinas. Todo es acción y nada de historia. ¿Sangre, tripas y más sangre? ¡Por supuesto que hay suficiente para redondear!
Los bibliotecarios se parecían a las hadas de la película "La bella durmiente", ya que tienen los colores azul, rojo y verde. ¡Mientras tanto, son todo lo contrario! Son mujeres rudas que conocen bien las pistolas, los cuchillos y otras armas peligrosas. Es genial que su "Santuario/Biblioteca" esté lleno de libros que están incrustados con armas en cada cámara del edificio. ¡Una biblioteca disfrazada de arsenal de armas!
There are a quite a few things that don’t add up as well. For example; All the male characters in the movie are either stupid or evil, Assasins using laughing gas, A Useless trio of assassins that could pass off as goof balls and how on earth can an eight year old girl drive a car that good for the first time! Why did the diner seem like the only thing that brought light, life and happiness to the whole movie?
I was so happy that the older women were quite aware they had a little child with them. For example when they said “Fudge you” instead of “Fuck you” or when they ask her to cover her eyes or ears before they start their gruelsome and bloody fights.
Hay bastantes cosas que tampoco cuadran. Por ejemplo; Todos los personajes masculinos de la película son estúpidos o malvados, asesinos que usan gas de la risa, un trío de asesinos inútiles que podrían pasar por tontos y ¡cómo diablos una niña de ocho años puede conducir un automóvil tan bien por primera vez! ¿Por qué la cafetería parecía lo único que daba luz, vida y alegría a toda la película?
Estaba tan feliz de que las mujeres mayores supieran que tenían un niño pequeño con ellas. Por ejemplo, cuando decían “Fudge you” en lugar de “Fuck you” o cuando le piden que se cubra los ojos o los oídos antes de comenzar sus cruentas y sangrientas peleas.
To top it all off, this movie shows that women can kill with as much vengeance, violence and dedication as men.
Para colmo, esta película muestra que las mujeres pueden matar con tanta venganza, violencia y dedicación como los hombres.
The Cast/ El elenco
The main character Sam was played by Karen Gillan who is known for her role in the movies Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle and Jumaji: Next level, Thor, Stuber e.t.c.
Lena Headey player Sams mom “Scarlet”. She’s known for her role in the series: Game of Thrones.
Carla Gugino, Michelle Yeoh and Angela Bassett play the role of the librarians while Chloe Coleman plays Emily the eight year old girl.
El personaje principal Sam fue interpretado por Karen Gillan, conocida por su papel en las películas Jumanji: Bienvenido a la jungla y Jumaji: Siguiente nivel, Thor, Stuber, etc.

Would I Recommend Gunpowder Milkshake?/ Recomendaría el batido de pólvora?
Well yes I would. Despite all the flaws it was a pretty nice escape from reality.
If you’re looking for a nice action movie with lots of fight scenes to get your blood or adrenaline pumped. This is definitely the movie for you.
Bueno, sí lo haría. A pesar de todos los defectos, fue un escape bastante agradable de la realidad.
Si está buscando una buena película de acción con muchas escenas de lucha para bombear su sangre o adrenalina. Esta es definitivamente la película para ti.

Hey! No había siquiera escuchado sobre esta película, pero tiene muy buena pinta, sobretodo por el reparto 😊 Espero ver mucha acción, así que la agendaré para este fin de semana ✨

Si que me gustó esta película, las escenas de acción son muy buenas aunque la pelea en la sala de bowling no me convencio mucho, pero las demas si, tanto la de la biblioteca como la de lfinal; todas muy bien coreografiadas y bien dirigidas.
