Saludos a todos y bienvenidos a mi blog. Hoy traigo una reseña que no imaginé escribiría pues no saben cuánto me rehusé a ver esta serie. Por ningún motivo de peso, solo no me atraía lo suficiente, a pesar de ser tan popular.
Que estuviera ambientada en los años pasados no ayudaba a crecer mi interés, no es que no me gusten este tipo de historias, es que he tenido malas experiencias con series así que prometían más.
Sin embargo, una vez que reproducí el primer episodio no hubo vuelta atrás y quedé irremediablemente enganchada, por lo que vi toda la temporada en menos de 24 horas.
Es de esta temporada de la cual quiero hablarles. 😊
Greetings everyone and welcome to my blog. Today I bring a review that I didn't imagine I would write as you don't know how much I refused to watch this series. For no compelling reason, it just didn't appeal to me enough, despite being so popular.
The fact that it was set in the past didn't help my interest to grow, it's not that I don't like this kind of stories, it's just that I've had bad experiences with series like this that promised more.
However, once I played the first episode there was no turning back and I was hopelessly hooked, so I watched the entire season in less than 24 hours.
It is this season that I want to tell you about. 😊

Peaky Blinders tuvo su estreno en el año 2013, hasta la fecha cuenta con 6 temporadas y según lo que estuve leyendo parece que no saldrán más.
La primera tiene apenas seis episodios que duran un poco menos de una hora cada uno, por lo que es muy fácil verla rápidamente y continuar a la siguiente.
Esta historia fue creada por Steven Knight y como elenco actoral tenemos a Cillian Murphy protagonizando el papel de Thomas Shelby, un personaje sumamente importante y el pilar fundamental de esta historia.
Nunca antes había visto a este actor en otra producción, sin embargo, pareciera que este papel hubiese sido creado especialmente para él.
Para acompañarlo están personajes como Grace Burgess, una agente encubierta interpretada por Annabelle Wallis, sus dos hermanos y compañeros de negocios, Arthur y Jhon (Paul Anderson y Joe Cole), su hermana Ada interpretada por Sophie Rundle y la importante tía Polly, interpretada por Helen McCrory.
También veremos frecuentemente a Chester Campbell, un inspector que sirve a la corona y es interpretado por Sam Neill.
Peaky Blinders had its premiere in 2013, to date it has 6 seasons and according to what I was reading it seems that no more will be released.
The first one has just six episodes that last a little less than an hour each, so it's very easy to watch it quickly and move on to the next one.

Birmingham after the war is a cradle of organized crime. Among scams, robberies, gambling and careful strategies to climb the ranks we have the Shelby family, led by Thomas, an ambitious young man who shows no remorse when it comes to committing his misdeeds.
He seems to savor the fear and intimidation he causes when he arrives somewhere, to be used to being obeyed by everyone and to declare war on anyone who is calm, just because it would benefit his business.
However, the eyes of Chief Inspector Campbell are on him for stealing a large quantity of weapons. Between their games to get what they want there will be threats, humiliations and the balance of getting their way tipping one way or the other. Who will win?
Mi opinión 🥀 My opinion
A pesar de que me la recomendaron antes, no empecé a ver esta serie con mucho entusiasmo. El primer episodio comenzó algo lento y de forma confusa, pues no te explican muchas cosas que se quedan al aire y que son un poco difíciles de asimilar, pues apenas estamos conociendo a los personajes y el ambiente en el que se desenvuelven.
Sin embargo, hay partes interesantes que te mantienen atento, a veces incluso por la belleza visual que tienen, como la del principio, dónde sale Thomas Shelby montado en un caballo, todo a su alrededor es un poco opaco e integran un rojo intenso a la escena. Eso sí, sin exagerar demasiado las cosas para darle un toque de dramatismo innecesario.
Creo que esta es una de las cosas que me agradó de la serie, que muchas veces todo está allí en su justa medida. Que no se aprovechan de nada para exagerar o romantizar demasiado las cosas.
Pronto es fácil entrar a contexto, no se si todos tengan la paciencia de esperar que un Thomas Shelby hable acerca de lo que está sucediendo con las armas robadas, por ejemplo, pero no solo entendemos eso y las cosas que quedaron al aire, sino que empezamos a acostumbrarnos a su manera de ser.
Esto hace que podamos entender a los demás personajes que lo rodean, pues no son los únicos que no escuchan salir las palabras de su boca, el espectador mismo siente cómo sería conocerlo o estar allí.
Es por esto que nos muestran, en vez de decirnos, y es algo que me gustó bastante, pues tenemos que interpretar la actitud de este personaje, su manera de ser, y sorprendernos con cada decisión que tome, a espaldas de su familia muchas veces y del espectador.
Even though it was recommended to me before, I didn't start watching this series with much enthusiasm. The first episode started off a bit slow and confusing, as they don't explain a lot of things that are left up in the air and are a bit difficult to assimilate, since we are just getting to know the characters and the environment in which they operate.
However, there are interesting parts that keep your attention, sometimes even for the visual beauty they have, such as the beginning, where Thomas Shelby is riding a horse, everything around him is a bit opaque and integrates a deep red to the scene. Of course, without exaggerating things too much to give a touch of unnecessary drama.
I think this is one of the things I liked about the series, that a lot of times everything is there in its right measure. That they don't take advantage of anything to exaggerate or romanticize things too much.
Soon it's easy to get into context, I don't know if everyone has the patience to wait for a Thomas Shelby to talk about what's going on with the stolen guns, for example, but not only do we understand that and the things that were left up in the air, but we start to get used to his way of being.
This makes us able to understand the other characters around him, as they are not the only ones who don't hear the words coming out of his mouth, the viewer himself feels what it would be like to know him or be there.
This is why they show us, instead of telling us, and this is something I liked a lot, because we have to interpret the attitude of this character, his way of being, and surprise us with every decision he makes, often behind the back of his family and the viewer.
No estoy hablando tanto de este personaje porque haya sido mi favorito, aunque para qué negarlo, me gustó bastante. Estoy hablando de él porque es el que pasa más tiempo en pantalla y el que juega un papel fundamental en su familia, en Birmingham y la serie misma.
Si Thomas Shelby no fuera tan ambicioso, tan temerario, tan perspicaz e impredecible, no tendría problemas con la policia y con las otras bandas de delincuentes, por lo tanto no habría nada que contar.
Aprovechando que estoy hablando de él, como ya dije, este personaje es interpretado por Cillian Murphy, lo que se me hizo muy interesante de ver, ya que este personaje es, para qué negarlo, super genial, y el actor parece encajar muy bien con esto y con lo que quiere transmitir.
No solo tiene la habilidad de quedarse sin expresión la mayor parte del tiempo, sino que adapta muy bien su lenguaje corporal para parecer alguien enérgico y peligroso pese a su carencia de expresión.
Muchas veces las personas a las que le tocan estos papeles o los mismos personajes van cambiando a medida que avanza la película o la serie, se vuelven menos rudos y más alegres, por ejemplo, como si cambiaran de actitud de la noche a la mañana, pero Thomas Shelby se mantiene firme, sonríe cuando tiene que sonreír y es creíble.
Espero que esto no cambie en las demás temporadas, si Thomas Shelby tiene un atractivo es ser tal cual es. Obviamente no es el típico heroe ni un personaje del cual estar orgullosos, es un delincuente y esto no puede negarse, pero aún así, tiene algo de... "Respetable".
I'm not talking about this character so much because he was my favorite, although why deny it, I liked him quite a bit. I'm talking about him because he's the one who gets the most screen time and the one who plays a pivotal role in his family, in Birmingham and the series itself.
If Thomas Shelby were not so ambitious, so reckless, so shrewd and unpredictable, he would have no problems with the police and the other criminal gangs, so there would be nothing to tell.
While I'm on the subject, as I said, this character is played by Cillian Murphy, which I found very interesting to watch, as this character is, why deny it, super cool, and the actor seems to fit very well with this and what he wants to convey.
Not only does he have the ability to remain expressionless most of the time, but he adapts his body language very well to appear energetic and dangerous despite his lack of expression.
Many times the people cast in these roles or the characters themselves change as the film or series progresses, becoming less gruff and more cheerful, for example, as if they changed their attitude overnight, but Thomas Shelby holds his own, smiles when he has to smile, and is believable.
I hope this doesn't change in the other seasons, if Thomas Shelby has an appeal it's being what he is. Obviously he is not the typical hero nor a character to be proud of, he is a criminal and this can't be denied, but still, he has something of..... "Respectable".
Claro que traiciona, engaña, cambia de opinión, juega sucio, pero esto es super interesante de ver, porque vive en un ambiente dónde si no eres el cazador eres la presa, y hasta incluso la policía es corrupta y hace lo que le viene en gana.
Que haya un villano así, sin miedo a nada, que desafíe a todos, y que luche en contra de otros villanos es muy genial. 😥 Habrá espectadores que vean esto desde la distancia, pensando que villano es villano, y habrá otros que le tomen cariño a este personaje, aún siendo como es.
Por otro lado es fácil compadecerse de él e imaginar el infierno que tuvo que vivir en la guerra, donde tuvo que matar y ver morir a las personas, incluso a un buen amigo. Una vez que conoces algo tan inhumano como eso, es difícil volver completo o cuerdo de tal lugar, por lo que la guerra es un factor influyente en su nueva manera de ser.
En cierto modo llegué a pensar que le tenía cierto rencor a su país por eso de guerra y me pregunté si todo lo que hacía acaso no sería como un modo de sacar esa rabia o pensar que se estaba vengando a su manera, pero no es algo que pueda asegurar.
Esta historia no tiene tantos giros argumentales o cosas que te toman por completo desprevenida, aunque es cierto que casi nunca sabes lo que va a ocurrir por la falta de palabras de Thomas, sabes que cualquier cosa puede pasar.
La acción es muy a la antigua, no solo hay mucho salvajismo con los golpes y las armas de fuego, sino que la banda Peaky Blinders se llama así por las gorras con hojillas que usan para intimidar o amedrentar a las personas.
Of course he betrays, cheats, changes his mind, plays dirty, but this is super interesting to see, because he lives in an environment where if you are not the hunter you are the prey, and even the police are corrupt and do whatever they want.
That there is a villain like this, fearless, defying everyone, and fighting against other villains is very cool. 😥 There will be viewers who see this from a distance, thinking that villain is villain, and there will be others who take a liking to this character, even being the way he is.
On the other hand it is easy to sympathize with him and imagine the hell he had to live through in the war, where he had to kill and watch people die, even a good friend. Once you know something as inhuman as that, it is hard to come back whole or sane from such a place, so the war is an influential factor in his new way of being.
In a way I came to think that he had a grudge against his country because of the war and I wondered if everything he was doing might not be a way to take out that anger or think that he was taking revenge in his own way, but it is not something I can say for sure.
This story doesn't have as many plot twists or things that take you completely off guard, although it's true that you almost never know what's going to happen because of Thomas' lack of words, you know that anything can happen.
The action is very old-fashioned, not only is there a lot of savagery with the beatings and guns, but the Peaky Blinders gang is named after the bladed caps they wear to intimidate or frighten people.
Del resto todo transcurre de forma normal pero no aburrida, es muy fácil jugar con las emociones del espectador sin necesidad de mostrar sangre, solo suspenso y un poco de miedo al imaginar que todo puede suceder, y ya sabemos que cuando se trata de bandas criminales siempre hay muertes y cosas desagradables.
Para completar este miedo en el espectador, conocemos a Grace, una agente encubierta que se mete en el nido de víboras con tal de cumplir con su misión, la única que logra acercarse al temible Thomas, y como era de esperar, terminan compaginando. Sin embargo, te preguntas cómo va a terminar ese asunto, qué hará Thomas cuando se entere de que ella es una agente.
Sin duda algo que esperas de esto es mucho drama, ¿Cómo el criminal y la agente podrían estar juntos? Aún así, es uno de las cosas que te engancha en esta historia.
Hay otros personajes que son fáciles de querer o apreciar en la pantalla, como por ejemplo la tía Polly, una mujer sumamente inteligente que no se deja intimidar por los hombres, ni siquiera por sus peligrosos familiares. Siempre dice lo que piensa, y son cosas que no se alejan de la realidad.
Dentro de toda esta vida peligrosa y ambiciosa también podemos conocer a personajes más inocentes, como Jhon, uno de los hermanos de Thomas, o Arthur, que pese a ser mayor que todos tiene una gran fagrilidad o tendencia a confiar en quien no debe.
Lo que quiero decir es que nos muestran, aparte de sus grandes defectos y sus malas acciones, un lado más humano. Algo que no se puede ver de Thomas, pero sí intuir en sus acciones.
The rest is normal but not boring, it is very easy to play with the viewer's emotions without the need to show blood, just suspense and a little fear to imagine that anything can happen, and we know that when it comes to criminal gangs there are always deaths and unpleasant things.
To complete this fear in the viewer, we meet Grace, an undercover agent who gets into the nest of vipers in order to fulfill her mission, the only one who manages to get close to the dreaded Thomas, and as expected, they end up matching. However, you wonder how this affair will end, what Thomas will do when he finds out that she is an agent.
No doubt one thing you expect from this is a lot of drama, how could the criminal and the agent be together? Still, it's one of the things that hooks you into this story.
There are other characters that are easy to like or appreciate on screen, such as Aunt Polly, a highly intelligent woman who is not intimidated by men, even her dangerous relatives. She always speaks her mind, and they are things that are not far from reality.
Within all this dangerous and ambitious life we can also meet more innocent characters, such as Jhon, one of Thomas' brothers, or Arthur, who despite being older than everyone has a great weakness or tendency to trust those who should not.
What I mean is that they show us, apart from their big flaws and bad actions, a more human side. Something you can't see from Thomas, but you can intuit in his actions.
Y supongo que esto es lo difícil de ser el: que todos creen que es malo y despiadado, que cuando algo cruel pasa lo culpan a él aunque diga que no lo hizo, y que las personas crean que perdió sus sentimientos en la guerra cuando no es así.
También podemos ver que es una persona que aprecia a su familia, que le tiene paciencia y ayuda a su amigo trastornado por la guerra, que toma las decisiones difíciles por los negocios, sí, pero en parte es porque van a beneficiar a los suyos, y nadie es capaz de tomar estas decisiones.
Es como si sacrificara su reputación o lo que todos piensen de él por acciones aparentemente malas, y en el fondo algunas, no todas, tienen buena intención.
No me gustó tantísimo el papel de inspector Campbell porque sentí que al principio inició rudo, luego estuvo más frágil y luego rudo nuevamente, pero aún así no está tan mal.
También me hubiese gustado ver más intensidad entre Grace y Thomas, pero supongo que no es una serie de amor, no del todo. No pierde de vista a lo que vino hacer, y eso también está muy bien.
Y por último, debo decir que el final me gustó mucho. Iniciando por esta frase: [leerla podría resultar en spoiler]
"Hace tiempo aprendí a odiar a mis enemigos, pero nunca antes había amado a uno."
Todo esto a la vez que nos mostraban la escena final de forma muy interesante, y cómo nos hizo sentir.
Por ende debo decir que es una serie súper entretenida, divertida y emocionante de ver. Por lo general me da miedo que algo tenga tantas temporadas, porque a veces no continúan las historias por el motivo adecuado, pero aún así, seguiré viéndola para descubrir qué me depara esta historia.

And I guess that's what's hard about being him: that everyone thinks he's mean and ruthless, that when something cruel happens they blame him even though he says he didn't do it, and that people think he lost his feelings in the war when he didn't.
We can also see that he is a person who appreciates his family, who is patient with and helps his war-torn friend, who makes difficult business decisions, yes, but partly because they will benefit his own, and no one is capable of making these decisions.
It's as if he sacrifices his reputation or what everyone thinks of him for seemingly bad actions, and deep down some, not all, are well-intentioned.
I didn't like the role of Inspector Campbell as much because I felt that he started off rough, then he was more fragile and then rough again, but he's still not too bad.
I also would have liked to see more intensity between Grace and Thomas, but I guess it's not a love series, not at all. It doesn't lose sight of what it came to do, and that's fine too.
And finally, I must say that I really liked the ending. Starting with this sentence: [reading it could result in spoiler].
"I learned long ago to hate my enemies, but I had never loved one before."
All this while showing us the final scene in a very interesting way, and how it made us feel.
So I must say that it is a super entertaining, fun and exciting series to watch. I usually get scared when something has so many seasons, because sometimes they don't continue the stories for the right reason, but even so, I will keep watching it to find out what this story has in store for me.

Apenas vas comenzando pro la primera temporada. Solo puedo decirte que será un viaje increíble. Tienes que ver todas las temporadas.
Te soy sincero, se pone mejor cada vez, aunque yo la abandone un tiempo, pero fueron por otros motivos, tanto de estado de animo como el hecho que de Tommy siempre se salvara por los pelos de las situaciones en que se mete. Pero la calidad de la serie no se discute y todo va a subir los niveles.
Muchas cosas que van pasar, mucha muerte y dolor. cuando estés pro la temporada cinco te darás cuenta de la evolución tanto de la serie como de los personajes.
quisiera decir tantas cosas, pero seria hacer spoiler y quiero que disfrutes de la serie totalmente. Ahora, luego de terminada la serie hace unos meses, solo te puedo decir que habrán mas aventuras de los Peaky Blinders. Se esta preparando una película.
Cillian Murphy tiene una extensa filmografia, seguro lo viste en otra película, pero no recuerdas. ¿viste la trilogia de Batman hecho por Nolan? es es uno de los villanos. También ha estado en un montón de películas inglesas y de Hollywood.
