Tenia tiempo queriendo ver The Closer, el último especial de Dave Chappelle para netflix, no había tenido el tiempo para hacerlo pero ahora, un mes después de su lanzamiento me di el gusto de al fin verlo.
The Closer es el último especial de Stand Up Comedy de Dave Chappelle para Netflix, fue lanzado el 5 de octubre del 2021 y tiene una duración de 70 min.
Cualquier persona que me conozca sabe lo apasionado que soy yo con la comedia, soy fan de la comedia en general pero los especiales de stand up comedy me encantan, y considero que Dave Chappelle es uno de los mejores haciendo comedia en este formato.
En este especial Chappelle nos deja el objetivo claro desde los primeros minutos, al ser este su último especial para netflix quiso hacer un cierre y retoma temas de especiales anteriores. Quiero agregar que siento que es importante haber visto los especiales anteriores a este para que se pueda disfrutar mejor, ya que de no ser así podríamos estar un poco perdidos en algunos chistes
No vengo a criticar ma estructura de los chistes o el delivery de los mismos ya que es Dave Chappelle, obviamente lo hace excelente y en cada historia nos atrapa hasta el final. Sin embargo pienso que este especial más que hacer reír (que lo logra), busca hacernos reflexionar sobre diversos temas, que utiliza la comedia como medio para que el mensaje sea más digerible, si!, pero siento que va más allá.
Si hay algo que decir es que no es su mejor especial, de eso estamos claros y no porque sea malo sino que competir con Equanimity no es cualquier cosa, pero The Closer logra su objetivo, dar un cierre digno a esta serie de especiales que tiene en netflix.
Se que ha sido un especial bastante controversial y entiendo el por qué, sin embargo como el mismo Dave lo dice, es arte y cada persona puede interpretarlo de la manera que quiera.
Para todos los fans de la comedia es un hito importante, ya que es el cierre de una etapa de lo que para muchos es el mejor comediante, es algo que no pasa todos los días.

I had been wanting to watch The Closer, Dave Chappelle's last stand up comedy special for Netflix for a long time, I had not had the time to do it but now, a month after its release I finally had the pleasure to watch it.

Anyone who knows me knows how passionate I am about comedy, I am a fan of comedy in general but stand up comedy specials I love, and I consider Dave Chappelle to be one of the best doing comedy in this format.
In this special Chappelle makes the objective clear from the first minutes, being this his last special for Netflix he wanted to make a closure and retakes themes from previous specials. I want to add that I feel it is important to have seen the previous specials before this one to enjoy it better, otherwise we could be a little lost in some jokes.
I am not here to criticize the structure of the jokes or the delivery of them, since it is Dave Chappelle, obviously he does it excellently and in each story he traps us until the end. However, I think that this special more than making us laugh (which it does), seeks to make us reflect on various issues, that it uses comedy as a means to make the message more digestible, yes, but I feel it goes beyond that.
If there is something to say is that it is not his best special, of that we are clear and not because it is bad but to compete with Equanimity is not anything, but The Closer achieves its goal, to give a worthy closure to this series of specials that has in Netflix.
I know it has been quite a controversial special and I understand why, however as Dave himself says, it is art and each person can interpret it the way they want.
For all comedy fans it is an important milestone, as it is the closing of a stage of what for many is the best comedian, it is something that does not happen every day.
