Hola de nuevo! Hoy les traigo un post bastante chévere en el cual les hablaré sobre la razón por la cual me gusta la película Ratatouille y porque es una de mis favoritas. Cuando era niña esta película me gustaba mucho, pero realmente no profundicé tanto en ella debido a que era pequeña, sin embargo al verla de nuevo de grande me di cuenta que de verdad, es una muy buena película. Además de tener una banda sonora y estética impecable, quisiera hablar más a fondo de la trama, desarrollo, personajes y mensaje que quiere dejar que para mí, es lo mejor que tiene esta película, estoy emocionada por contarles, comencemos!
Hello again! Today I come with a very cool post in which I will tell you about the reason why I like the movie Ratatouille and why it is one of my favorites. When I was a kid I liked this movie a lot, but I didn't really delve into it because I was little, however when I saw it again when I grew up I realized that it really is a very good movie. Besides having an impeccable soundtrack and aesthetics, I would like to talk more in depth about the plot, development, characters and message that it wants to leave that for me, is the best thing that this movie has, I am excited to tell you, let's go!
Ratatouille es una película dirigida por Brad Bird, producida por Pixar y estrenada en el año 2007. Esta película tiene como ambiente principal el país de Francia, donde nuestro protagonista es Remy, una rata que se dedica principalmente a oler si la comida que su familia roba tiene veneno. Remy sueña con ser un gran chef al igual que su ídolo Auguste Gusteau (el cual ve en forma de espíritu, producto de su imaginación) y un día escapando de casa de una anciana y robando un libro de recetas de Gusteau, cae por las alcantarillas llegando a París, muy cerca del restaurante de su ídolo. Ahí se topa con Lingüini, un chico nuevo de la cocina que se dedica a limpiar, pero que al tropezar con una sopa que se estaba preparando le agrega condimentos al azar y la arruina, por lo que Remy interviene condimentándola. Al servir la sopa se dan cuenta que parece que Lingüini la condimentó (aunque Remy la arregló después) y quieren evitar que se sirva a los comensales, pero es muy tarde. Sin embargo, la sopa es un éxito y el jefe de cocina Skinner le exige al joven que repita la sopa. Luego de un contratiempo, Remy y Lingüini hacen equipo, pero es difícil el proceso para que Lingüini aprenda a cocinar ya que no se le da nada bien
Ratatouille is a film directed by Brad Bird, produced by Pixar and released in 2007. This film has as its main environment the country of France, where our protagonist is Remy, a rat who is mainly dedicated to smell if the food his family steals has poison. Remy dreams of being a great chef like his idol Auguste Gusteau (which he sees in spirit form, a figment of his imagination) and one day escaping from an old woman's house and stealing a book of Gusteau's recipes, he falls through the sewers arriving in Paris, very close to his idol's restaurant. There he runs into Linguini, a new kitchen boy who is a cleaner, but when he stumbles upon a soup that was being prepared, he randomly adds seasoning and ruins it, so Remy intervenes by seasoning it. Upon serving the soup they realize that it looks like Lingüini seasoned it (although Remy fixed it later) and want to prevent it from being served to the diners, but it's too late. However, the soup is a hit and head chef Skinner demands that the young man repeat the soup. After a mishap, Remy and Lingüini team up, but the process is difficult for Lingüini to learn to cook since he is not good at it.
En un momento descubren que Remy puede controlar los movimientos de Lingüini con jalar de su cabello, así que practican y gracias a eso, Remy escondido en el gorro de chef y Lingüini repiten la sopa con éxito. Mientras Lingüini tiene éxito por descubrirse que es hijo legítimo del aclamado Gusteau, Skinner intenta persuadirlo para que no reclame la herencia que le dejó Gusteau, ya que tiene un tiempo limitado que vence en un mes. Lingüini tiene una relación con Colette, se le sube la fama y olvida que parte de su éxito es gracias a Remy. En un momento Lingüini admite a sus compañeros que no es un chef de verdad, sino que es controlado por una rata, esta noticia ocasiona que los otros cocineros renuncien incluyendo a Colette y Lingüini se quede solo. Más adelante Lingüini y Remy se pelean, lo cual ocasiona que el joven bote a la rata, pero más adelante al ver que el restaurante colapsa, Remy junto a toda su familia la cual vio que Lingüini no es mala persona, deciden ayudarlo, el inspector de salubridad descubre a las ratas pero logran encerrarlo para que no diga nada. Lingüini hace de camarero y Colette lo ayuda más adelante ya que el importante crítico Ego está ahí. Colette y Remy cocinan un Ratatouille que deja impactado a Ego y a Skinner el cual entra a a la cocina, es amordazado junto al inspector. Al final sale una buena reseña de Ego que sabe que la rata es el chef, Gusteau es clausurado por el inspector al ser liberado pero al final, Ego funda junto a Lingüini y Colette un restaurante donde las ratas pueden estar escondidas pero cómodas, con Remy siendo el chef estrella.
At one point they discover that Remy can control Linguini's movements by pulling his hair, so they practice and thanks to that, Remy hidden in the chef's hat and Linguini successfully repeat the soup. While Lingüini is successful for being discovered to be the legitimate son of the acclaimed Gusteau, Skinner tries to persuade him not to claim the inheritance left to him by Gusteau, as he has a limited time that expires in a month. Lingüini has a relationship with Colette, his fame rises and he forgets that part of his success is thanks to Remy. At one point Lingüini admits to his fellow chefs that he is not a real chef, but is controlled by a rat, this news causes the other chefs to quit including Colette and Lingüini is left alone. Later Lingüini and Remy have a fight, which causes the young man to throw the rat away, but later, seeing that the restaurant collapses, Remy and all his family, who saw that Lingüini is not a bad person, decide to help him, the health inspector discovers the rats but they manage to lock him up so that he does not say anything. Linguini acts as a waiter and Colette helps him later as the important critic Ego is there. Colette and Remy cook a Ratatouille that shocks Ego and Skinner who enters the kitchen, is gagged along with the inspector. In the end a good review comes out from Ego who knows that the rat is the chef, Gusteau is shut down by the inspector when he is released but in the end, Ego founds together with Lingüini and Colette a restaurant where the rats can be hidden but comfortable, with Remy being the star chef.
Ratatouille es una película que transmite muchas cosas y trabaja muchos puntos de vista. El principal es el de Remy, una rata que solo trabaja para su familia detectando veneno gracias a su olfato, pero cuyo sueño es ser chef. Su padre Django no está de acuerdo ya que las ratas no sirven para eso, además, considera que los humanos son peligrosos. También Lingüini, un joven que al quedar huérfano consigue trabajo en Gusteau, y que al pensarse que es un gran chef y además hijo de Gusteau, se tienen altas expectativas de él que no puede cumplir. Colette es una chica ruda y fuerte, que tuvo que pasar por mucho trabajo para estar donde está en la cocina, siendo una gran chef gracias al trabajo duro y carácter inquebrantable que tiene, pero que a su vez, esconde un lado sensible. El crítico Ego, el cual se toma muy en serio su trabajo al amar la comida y tomarse el arte culinario como un arte importante. También Skinner, que tiene un constante miedo a que un novato lo quite de su posición como jefe. Incluso, como se dice al principio, cada uno de los cocineros tienen historias en su vida y lo que tienen en común es que hacen arte con la comida. Se plasma de manera impecable como alguien puede tener talento natural (Remy), otra trabaja duro para que ese talento surja (Colette), pero que otros, por más que se esfuercen no pueden hacer ciertas cosas porque no es su pasión (Lingüini), y sobre esto último no se debe malinterpretar, porque el hecho de no ser bueno en algo, no significa que no se tenga talento para muchas otras cosas.
Ratatouille is a film that conveys many things and works many points of view. The main one is that of Remy, a rat who only works for his family detecting poison thanks to his sense of smell, but whose dream is to be a chef. His father Django disagrees because rats are not good for that, besides, he considers humans to be dangerous. Also Linguini, a young man who is orphaned and gets a job at Gusteau, and who is thought to be a great chef and also Gusteau's son, has high expectations of him that he cannot fulfill. Colette is a tough and strong girl, who had to go through a lot of work to be where she is in the kitchen, being a great chef thanks to her hard work and unbreakable character, but at the same time, she hides a sensitive side. The critic Ego, who takes his job very seriously as he loves food and takes culinary art as an important art. Also Skinner, who has a constant fear that a rookie will remove him from his position as boss. Even, as stated at the beginning, each of the cooks have stories in their lives and what they have in common is that they make art with food. It is impeccably captured how someone can have natural talent (Remy), another works hard for that talent to emerge (Colette), but that others, no matter how hard they try, cannot do certain things because it is not their passion (Lingüini), and the latter should not be misunderstood, because the fact of not being good at something does not mean that one does not have talent for many other things.
El tema de la familia de Remy al no estar de acuerdo con su sueño se trabaja de manera muy orgánica, al principio se entiende que el padre de Remy tenga miedo de que su hijo se relacione con humanos e incluso le muestra a su hijo como hay tiendas que venden artefactos para matar a las ratas, sin embargo Remy al convivir con uno sabe que no todos son así, que no todos los humanos están dispuestos a matar ratas o mejor dicho, que existen personas capaces de convivir con ratas. Remy le demuestra a su padre con hechos que Lingüini no es malo y que su sueño es ser chef y nada lo va a detener, además de mostrarle lo bueno que es cocinando para los humanos haciendo que su padre reflexione y decida ayudarlo junto a su familia, ya que lo correcto es dejar que su hijo siga su pasión. Lo más destacable de la película es que cuando Ego prueba el ratatouille que espera que sea un fracaso al ser una receta conocida como vaga y simple, al comerlo es automáticamente llevado a su infancia donde su madre le cocinaba. De vuelta a la realidad Ego necesita conocer al chef, pero al presentarle a una rata se esperaba que su reseña fuese mala, pero al contrario dejó un potente mensaje en su crítica la cual si me permiten, la dejaré textualmente:
The theme of Remy's family not agreeing with his dream is worked in a very organic way, at first it is understood that Remy's father is afraid of his son interacting with humans and even shows his son how there are stores that sell devices to kill rats, however Remy to live with one knows that not all are like that, that not all humans are willing to kill rats or rather, that there are people capable of living with rats. Remy shows his father with facts that Lingüini is not bad and that his dream is to be a chef and nothing is going to stop him, besides showing him how good he is at cooking for humans, making his father reflect and decide to help him and his family, since the right thing to do is to let his son follow his passion. The highlight of the movie is that when Ego tastes the ratatouille which he expects to be a failure as it is a recipe known to be vague and simple, upon eating it he is automatically taken back to his childhood where his mother cooked for him. Back to reality Ego needs to meet the chef, but by introducing him to a rat his review was expected to be bad, but on the contrary he left a powerful message in his review which if I may, I will leave it textually:
“La vida de un crítico es sencilla en muchos aspectos, arriesgamos poco, y tenemos poder sobre aquellos que ofrecen su trabajo y su servicio a nuestro juicio. Prosperamos con las críticas negativas, divertidas de escribir y de leer, pero la triste verdad que debemos afrontar, es que en el gran orden de las cosas, cualquier basura tiene más significado que lo que deja ver nuestra crítica. Pero, en ocasiones, el crítico sí se arriesga cada vez que descubre y defiende algo nuevo, el mundo suele ser cruel con el nuevo talento, las nuevas creaciones, lo nuevo, necesita amigos. Anoche experimenté algo nuevo, una extraordinaria cena de una fuente singular e inesperada, decir solo que la comida y su creador han desafiado mis prejuicios sobre la buena cocina subestimaría la realidad. Me han tocado en lo más profundo. En el pasado, jamás oculté mi desdén por el famoso lema del chef Gusteau: "Cualquiera puede cocinar". Pero al fin me doy cuenta de lo que quiso decir en realidad: no cualquiera puede convertirse en un gran artista, pero un gran artista puede provenir de cualquier lado. Es difícil imaginar un origen más humilde que el del genio que ahora cocina en el restaurante Gusteau, y quien, a opinión de este crítico, es nada menos que el mejor chef de Francia. Pronto volveré a Gusteau hambriento!”
"The life of a critic is simple in many ways, we risk little, and we have power over those who offer their work and their service to our judgment. We thrive on negative reviews, fun to write and fun to read, but the sad truth we must face, is that in the grand order of things, any garbage has more meaning than our review lets on. But sometimes the critic does take a risk every time he discovers and defends something new, the world is often cruel to new talent, new creations, the new, needs friends. Last night I experienced something new, an extraordinary dinner from a singular and unexpected source, to say only that the food and its creator have challenged my preconceptions about fine cuisine would understate the reality. They have touched me to my core. In the past, I never hid my disdain for Chef Gusteau's famous motto: "Anyone can cook." But I finally realize what he really meant: not just anyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. It is hard to imagine a more humble origin than that of the genius who now cooks at the Gusteau restaurant, and who, in this reviewer's opinion, is nothing less than the best chef in France. I shall soon be returning to Gusteau hungrily!"
Esta reseña muestra como un crítico tiene un gran poder sobre los que ponen a su disposición su trabajo, sabiendo que su opinión puede llevar a la gloria o de lo contrario, hundir a la persona dependiendo de como el crítico considera que es bueno o malo. Las críticas negativas son las más llamativas y lo que la gente más lee, pero realmente no tiene mucho significado y no es trascendental. El mundo es cruel con las personas talentosas que surgen en el arte desde abajo, pero necesitan apoyo para crecer como artistas. Ego hace énfasis en que realmente comprendió la frase de Gusteau de "cualquiera puede cocinar", porque si se toma de manera literal puede tergiversarse de muchas formas, pero lo que realmente quiso decir el prestigioso chef es que no cualquiera puede ser un gran artista, pero un gran artista puede surgir de cualquier lado, donde menos lo esperamos un gran artista esta creciendo hasta ser algo grande, con talento nato o trabajo duro. Puede tomarnos por sorpresa el origen de un gran artista, pero lo que hace es tan extraordinario que eso es lo menos importante. Realmente el mensaje que nos deja Ego es excelente, el mensaje de "cualquiera puede cocinar" representa que hay que trabajar duro para lograr nuestros objetivos, aunque Remy tiene un gran talento nato para la cocina, trabajó duro para llegar a donde llegó, sin miedo a ser diferente y además, no juzgó, no le tuvo miedo a Lingüini a pesar de crecer con la idea de que los humanos son malos, al igual que Lingüini al confiar en Remy sin pensar que todas las ratas son solo una plaga. Todos los personajes tienen un buen desarrollo, bastante orgánico a mi parecer y además, deja un buen mensaje no solo la reseña, sino todo lo que vivieron los protagonistas para llegar a donde están, de verdad una gran película.
This review shows how a critic has great power over those who make his work available to him, knowing that his opinion can lead to glory or otherwise sink the person depending on how good or bad the critic considers him to be. Negative reviews are the most eye-catching and what people read the most, but it really doesn't have much meaning and is not transcendental. The world is cruel to talented people who emerge in art from the bottom up, but they need support to grow as artists. Ego emphasizes that he really understood Gusteau's phrase "anyone can cook", because if taken literally it can be twisted in many ways, but what the prestigious chef really meant is that not everyone can be a great artist, but a great artist can emerge from anywhere, where we least expect a great artist is growing into something great, with natural talent or hard work. It can take us by surprise the origin of a great artist, but what he does is so extraordinary that this is the least important thing. Really the message that Ego leaves us with is excellent, the message of "anyone can cook" represents that we have to work hard to achieve our goals, although Remy has a great born talent for cooking, he worked hard to get where he got to, without fear of being different and also, he did not judge, he was not afraid of Lingüini despite growing up with the idea that humans are bad, just like Lingüini in trusting Remy without thinking that all rats are just a pest. All the characters have a good development, quite organic in my opinion and also, it leaves a good message not only the review, but everything that the protagonists lived to get to where they are, really a great movie.

Muchos conocemos esta película y es considerada de por sí una de las mejores de Pixar al tener un buen desarrollo en su historia y un final bueno. No la tengo entre mis favoritas, pero la calidad de Ratatoille es innegable. La escena de Ego probando la comida de Remy, y luego escuchar su crítica, sin duda alguna es de las más míticas de Pixar.
Totalmente! Ratatouille es una película muy bien hecha y esa escena de Ego junto con su crítica hace que el final sea excelente, dando un gran mensaje.
Es una historia sin duda hermosa y con gran mensaje, la vi hace mucho tiempo cuando salio, pero quede encantada y si me preguntan puedo decir que es una de mis favoritas, tienes razón que los criticos en este campo tienen una influencia y un poder enorme para exaltar o desacreditar a una persona que con mucho esfuerzo trabaja por cumplir sus sueños, pero que depender de esa critica le pone mucho peso y presión encima, excelente reseña.
En general la crítica abruma a los artistas, en un mundo muy duro donde es difícil desenvolverse cuando se da mucho enfoque en las criticas negativas más que las positivas, porque como dice Ego, las críticas positivas impulsan, pero al público le entretiene más leer algo negativo. Lo importante es apoyar a los artistas y a los nuevos talentos que surgen. De verdad es una película excelente y bonita, con un gran mensaje! Me alegra que te haya gustado la reseña 💕
Definitivamente es una película con una calidad innegable y con una gran historia, además de que posee una de las escenas más icónicas de las películas de pixar.
