Una serie para la historia | A series for history
No hay duda de que Games of Thrones será una de las series de televisión más recordadas de la historia, su influencia es indiscutible. Yo ya había leído el primer libro de esta saga la cual lleva el nombre de la serie y al enterarme de que HBO haría una serie basada en esta saga de libros mis sentimientos eran una mezcla de asombro, emoción e incredulidad pues me preguntaba cómo iban hacer para adaptar ciertos puntos de la historia.
En resumen, la serie fue un éxito desde el inicio y la verdad lo tuvo bien merecido, si bien tuvo muchísimos cambios con relación a todas las novelas, supo conservar la esencia de las mismas... bueno hasta cierto punto.
Una de las cosas que en lo personal me gustó de los libros y las novelas era el desarrollo de los conflictos bélicos y como se llevaban a cabo, la serie demostró que las batallas no solo se disputan en el campo y esto, la serie de televisión lo logró muy bien.
Pero, así como hay grandes batallas muy bien hechas y espectaculares, hay otras que son aún más espectacular pero que carecen del más mínimo sentido, no solo narrativamente, también desde un punto de vista táctico y estratégico.
Por eso hoy en vez de traer algo relacionado a los libros como de costumbre quiero traer algo relacionado más con la serie de televisión. La Batalla de Kings Landing que tiene lugar en la última temporada de la serie; espero esta lectura sea de su agrado y la disfruten mucho, aquí vamos de nuevo viajeros.
There is no doubt that Games of Thrones will be one of the most remembered television series in history, its influence is indisputable. I had already read the first book of this saga which bears the name of the series and when I found out that HBO would make a series based on this saga of books my feelings were a mixture of amazement, excitement and disbelief because I wondered how they were going to adapt certain points of the story.
In short, the series was a success from the beginning and the truth is that it was well deserved, although it had many changes in relation to all the novels, it knew how to keep the essence of the same... well, up to a certain point.
One of the things I personally liked about the books and novels was the development of the war conflicts and how they were carried out, the series showed that battles are not only fought on the battlefield and this the TV series did very well achieved.
But just as there are great battles very well done and spectacular, there are others that are even more spectacular but lack the slightest sense, not only narratively, but also from a tactical and strategic point of view.
That's why today instead of bringing something related to the books as usual I want to bring something more related to the TV series. The Battle of Kings Landing takes place in the last season of the series; I hope this reading is to your liking and enjoy it a lot, here we go again travelers.

Si no has visto la serie o al menos su última temporada quizás este no sea el post que deberías leer si no quieres enterarte de nada hasta ver la serie; pero si poco te importa y quieres saber mi opinión de esta batalla ponte cómodo.
Antes de comenzar o echar la bilis y hablar de las cosas que estuvieron mal en este episodio en el que nos centraremos enteramente en la batalla, dejando de lado algunos otros puntos como las actuaciones, el guion o lo visual. Antes de todo ello me gustaría recalcar las cosas que me gustaron.
El episodio en lo personal me pareció entretenido, fue bastante divertido y épico; de alguna manera le dieron a la gran mayoría de espectadores lo que querían ver.
Las interpretaciones de los personajes fueron increíbles, sobre todo la de la Reina Cersei y Arya Stark y bueno a nivel visual de verdad que me gustó; cumple con su objetivo. Hay muchas cosas buenas para decir de este episodio a pesar de que no es el mejor y fallos tiene de sobra; pero ahora sí, a lo que vinimos. La Batalla de King´s Landing
If you haven't seen the series or at least its last season maybe this is not the post you should read if you don't want to find out anything until you see the series; but if you don't care and want to know my opinion of this battle make yourself comfortable.
Before we start or throw the bile and talk about the things that were wrong in this episode in which we will focus entirely on the battle, leaving aside some other points such as the performances, the script or the visuals. Before all of that I would like to emphasize the things I liked.
Personally I found the episode entertaining, it was quite funny and epic; somehow they gave the vast majority of viewers what they wanted to see.
The interpretations of the characters were incredible, especially Queen Cersei and Arya Stark and well on a visual level I really liked it; it fulfills its purpose. There are many good things to say about this episode even though it is not the best and it has plenty of faults; but now yes, to what we came. The Battle of King's Landing

Antecedentes | Background
Ejercito Targaryen-Stark
Seré breve en este apartado, pero es necesario para poner en contexto la situación en la que se encontraban ambos bandos y ejércitos en la guerra.
Por un lado, está el ejército unido de los Stark y Daenerys Targaryen quienes luego de la desastroza batalla que tuvo lugar en Winterfell perdieron a la mitad de su ejército, posteriormente perderían al segundo dragón de Daenerys a manos de la Flota de Hierro de Euron Greyjoy disminuyendo así de forma considerable su potencial de ataque para el asedio de King´s Landing.
Recordemos que también marcharon a la capital con poco tiempo de descanso tras la batalla de Winterfell pues Daenerys quería estar a las puertas de la ciudad para sitiarla antes de que Cersei realizara su siguiente movimiento.
Del ejército más grande del conflicto ahora pasamos quizás a uno no tan numeroso pero que sigue siendo bastante grande, aunque no tenemos una estimación exacta.
Ejercito Lannister-Greyjoy
Por su parte el ejército Lannister espero pacientemente la resolución del conflicto en el Norte que para su alivio fue ganado por el ejército de los vivos.
Tras el ataque de los Dorthraki y Drogon a las tropas Lannister en el Reach que regresaban a Kings Landing luego de haber tomado el castillo Tyrell, el ejército Lannister o cuando menos una gran parte se vio fuertemente afectado. Este fue el primer golpe de verdad duro que recibió el bando Lannister en la guerra, sin embargo, habiendo capturado gran parte del oro de la casa Tyrell lograron traer desde Essos a la Compañía Dorada, lo cual supuso un refuerzo importante en sus filas.
La Compañía Dorada es el ejército mercenario más famoso de Essos y según dicen muchos también es de los más efectivos en combate (si claro como no).
Adicional a ello lograron matar a Rhaegal el segundo dragón de Daenerys cerca de Dragon Stone, gracias a la Flota de Hierro. Al enterarse de que Daenerys y los Stark planeaban irrumpir directamente en la ciudad acumularon el grueso de las tropas en la capital y se prepararon para la llegada de los invasores (mala planificación)
Targaryen-Stark Army
I will be brief in this section but it is necessary to put into context the situation in which both sides and armies found themselves in the war.
On one side is the united army of the Starks and Daenerys Targaryen who after the disastrous battle that took place at Winterfell lost half of their army, they would later lose Daenerys' second dragon to Euron Greyjoy's Iron Fleet thus considerably diminishing their attack potential for the siege of King's Landing.
Recall that they also marched to the capital with little time to rest after the battle of Winterfell as Daenerys wanted to be at the gates of the city to besiege it before Cersei made her next move.
From the largest army of the conflict now we move perhaps to one not so numerous but still quite large, although we do not have an exact estimate.
Lannister-Greyjoy Army
For its part the Lannister army waited patiently for the resolution of the conflict in the North that to its relief was won by the army of the living.
After the attack of the Dorthraki and Drogon to the Lannister troops in the Reach that were returning to Kings Landing after having taken the Tyrell castle, the Lannister army or at least a great part of it was strongly affected. This was the first really hard blow that the Lannister side received in the war, however having captured much of the gold of the Tyrell house they managed to bring from Essos the Golden Company, which was an important reinforcement in their ranks.
The Golden Company is the most famous mercenary army of Essos and many say it is also one of the most effective in combat (yes, of course).
In addition, they managed to kill Rhaegal, Daenerys' second dragon near Dragon Stone, thanks to the Iron Fleet. Upon learning that Daenerys and the Starks were planning to storm the city directly, they amassed the bulk of the troops in the capital and prepared for the arrival of the invaders (bad planning).

Ejército defensor
A partir de este punto llamaré al ejército de los Lannister y los Greyjoy o más bien de Euron Greyjoy como el ejército defensor.
Este ejército está compuesto por alrededor de veinte mil efectivos de la Compañía Dorada entre los cuales sabemos que había dos mil soldados montados a caballo y el resto eran soldados de infantería, en la serie podemos ver que portan armadura en mi opinión ligera, escudo y lanzas.
El ejército Lannister había perdido una gran cantidad de tropas en Alto Jardín, pero aun así parecían tener una fuerza aun numerosa entre caballeros con armadura pesada y arqueros, no sabemos el número exacto de estas unidades.
Adicional a todo ello tenemos la Flota de Hierro que se encuentra en las costas cercanas a la bahía de Aguasnegras, a primera vista parecen poseer un centenar de barcos por las tomas que se nos dan de la posición en la que se encuentran.
Adicional a ello las murallas de la ciudad y los barcos de la Flota de Hierro están equipados con unas balistas llamadas Escorpiones que son las armas que usaron para derribar a Rhaegal el dragón de Daenerys.
Formación de combate defensiva.
Iremos desde la parte más externa hasta donde se encuentra la Fortaleza Roja. La Compañía Dorada se encontraba apostada justo afuera de las murallas esperando la llegada del ejército invasor, en una formación bastante conventional.
En la costa los barcos de Euron estaban dispersos por las aguas a la espera de la llegada del dragón por si se les ocurría atacar por mar; en las calles de la ciudad se encontraba el ejército Lannister en formación de conveniencia de guion preparados para frenar el avance enemigo en el caso de que lograsen traspasar la muralla.
Defender Army
From this point on I will call the army of the Lannisters and the Greyjoys or rather of Euron Greyjoy as the defending army.
This army is composed of about twenty thousand troops of the Golden Company among which we know that there were two thousand mounted soldiers on horseback and the rest were infantrymen, in the series we can see that they wear armor in my opinion light, shield and spears.
The Lannister army had lost a large number of troops in the High Garden but still seemed to have a still large force of heavily armored knights and archers, we do not know the exact number of these units.
In addition to all this we have the Iron Fleet that is on the coast near the bay of Blackwater, at first glance seem to have a hundred ships by the shots that we are given of the position in which they are.
In addition to this the city walls and Iron Fleet ships are equipped with ballistae called Scorpions which are the weapons they used to bring down Rhaegal the dragon of Daenerys.
Defensive battle formation.

Este es el ejercito del que más tenemos conocimiento de sus números, aun así, todo esto es pura especulación.
En líneas generales ambos bandos quedaron bastante equilibrados tras la caída del Rey Nocturno.
Formación de ataque
Ninguna, al menos no una que se nos deje apreciar de manera nitida en la serie, sabemos que se apostaron en la entrada principal de la muralla mientras Drogon y Daenerys surcaban los cielos.
Invading army
The army of the invaders had been heavily reduced after the conflict of the Long Night, it is explained to us that the northern soldiers and the Unsullied lost half or more than half of their troops, we are not told directly about Dothraki casualties but we can assume that they had similar losses.
Daenerys landed in Westeros with about eight thousand fully trained Unsullied, not counting those still in training, plus about a hundred thousand Dorthraki horsemen, remember she united all the Khales hordes she slaughtered in Essos.
The army of the Northmen (all the houses together) and the Vale, after the battle of the Bastards was composed of about forty-five thousand to fifty thousand soldiers, a large force. This was undoubtedly the largest and most powerful army, but as we had already said, after the Long Night these troops would be heavily decimated; assuming they lost half or more than half of the troops we could say the following;
This is only an estimate, but we could suppose that the invading army counts about three or four thousand Unsullied, twenty thousand North and Vale men and about forty or thirty-five thousand Dothraki horsemen. This is the army of which we have most knowledge of their numbers, even so, all this is pure speculation.
In general lines both sides were quite balanced after the fall of the Night King.
Attack formation
None, at least not one that we can clearly see in the series, we know that they were stationed at the main entrance of the wall while Drogon and Daenerys took to the skies.

Me gusto más La Batalla de los Bastardos.
El polémico final, muchas cosas que no me gustaron, pero lo he dicho en anteriores post que tratan el tema, prefiero quedarme con el recuerdo de todo lo bueno que aporto la serie de televisión.
Esta gente estaba cansada de hacer la serie, eran muchos años y se nota en la última temporada.
Lo que me molesto del final fue ver a Cersei llorar, traicionando toda la fortaleza del personaje
La Batalla de los Bastardos es una de las que quiero hablar próximamente, muy buena esta batalla en general. Concuerdo con lo de Cersei, siento que al final de su arco no fue ella misma. Y bueno, el cierre de temporada y la ultima temporada en genera dejó mucho que desear; gracias por tu comentario y por leerme, lo aprecio un montón, un saludo! 🙏
GOT fue una obra maestra, y tuvo tantos momentos buenos que es realmente difícil por no decir imposible elegir solo uno. Esta batalla fue sin duda de las mejores, aunque recuerdo una donde Tyrion ejerce de comandante para y se pone a organizar el ejercito de los Lannisters y están llegando unos barcos enemigos que son explotados con la sustancia verde que es súper inflamable. No recuerdo el nombre de la batalla o el del capítulo pero sí recuerdo que vi esas explociones varias veces de lo impactante que fue para mí. Lo mismo hice con la explosión que Cersei le hace a una iglesia donde estaban los radicales religiosos y otros personajes importantes.
Espero que la nueva serie Casa del Dragon sea tan buena como GOT pero va a ser difícil.
Hablas del fuego Valyrio y de la Batalla de Blackwaters; también una de las batallas mejor realizadas de la serie y de la televisión en general. No sé si llamarla obra maestra, pero sin dudas es y será de las mejores series de la historia además de una de las mas vistas, Game Of Thrones marcó un precedente...
Los capítulos que mencionas son para mí de los mejores de la serie; definitivamente unas joyitas. Sobre todo el de la explosión de la Septa de Baelor, el utlimo capitulo de la sexta temporada, el nombre que lleva ese capitulo es "Vientos de Invierno" Que curiosamente es el nombre del libro que los lectores llevamos años esperando a que George RR Martin nos traiga al fin para saber mas de lo que ocurre en las novelas. Oye me fascinó leerte, me dió mucha nostalgia pues no perdía ninguno de los episodios de los domingos a las diez de la noche. Juego de Tronos fue una serie magnífica en todos los sentidos, aunque algunos estábamos seguros de que el final no iba a satisfacer los deseos de los fanáticos, creo que pudo ser mejor o más épico sin ser "feliz". Aparte lo emocionantes que fueron todas la batallas y que te dejaba hipnotizado a la pantalla sufriendo por cada personaje. Saludos✨😊

Si GoT fue una serie realmente increíble en muchísimos aspectos; tampoco me perdía mi respectivo domingo con mi dosis de GoT, a pesar de que durante la primera y segunda temporada (que abarca la primera novela) sabía en gran medida lo que ocurriría (aunque algunos detalles cambiaron) fue algo increíble, no podía creer lo bien realizada que estaba la serie y cuando se separó de los libros, cada capitulo era pura emoción y tensión. Es verdad que el final no dejó contento a muchos, entre ellos yo incluido, la ultima temporada no fue precisamente lo que nos vendieron (en mi opinión) pero no dejó de ser una serie increíble y una de mis favoritas de toda mi vida hasta ahora. De hecho la estoy viendo nuevamente y me encanta. Un saludo muchas gracias por tu comentario nuevamente! 😸
