Synopsis

Bridgerton it's a TV Drama Series set in the high society of London in the beginning of the XIX Century, the story tells the life of Daphne and how he was trained since he was born to the Big Day, the moment when she debuts in the high and coveted british society with the final purpose of finding a husband.

This series was created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes, the creator of the big screen hit Grey's Anatomy, for the time being we have just One Season of Bridgerton, but we already know that a lot of things will come about this outstanding family.

Review

Summary of the series

Since the first episode of this acclaimed series we are introduced to this world that we don't really know in a realistic way, that is the high society, the titles, dances, all the parameters you have to comply, and a lot more. We see how the Bridgerton brothers hide so much between them, like Anthony who does not want to own any title to be able to be with that person he desires, we see Eloise being incredibly unhappy with the role she has to develop in her life, without any choice, we know a little bit more about Benedict and his aspiration to be an Artist, but deep down inside he knows it'll not be possible to accomplish. And last but not least, we have Daphne with his objective of finding a husband, but finding love at the same time, two things thare were not likely to go along in those years. The series shows us different types of marriages and how unhappy women can be.

Also we encounter Lady Whistledown, a very interesting character that has a very unusual way to say things, and we are kept wondering throughout the series, Who Could it be?, and whoever is brave enough to make all those secrets of all the instituions public.

And we have Simon, who'll be the romantic interest of Daphne in this story, they give a glance of how was his childhood and the mistreatment of the previous Duke of Hastings who defined what he is nowadays, they show this character and immediately we feel that the world it's better without the previous Duke of Hastings, a man with a eagerness of having a child and let his wife die in the pursuit of this desire, we notice how his concept of perfection isn't fulfilled by his Son, and in the end he rejects him because he does not met his requierements, and this shows us that man didn't had it completely easy either.

Opinion

The series in this first season shows us pure Drama, it is expected to go in the same way, even though shows us the customs and manners of that time, the events of that High Society, realistically we are living a Romatinc Story mainly through Daphne and Simon, they are the main characters of this Season.

It shows any kind of scenes that make us live it with the characters and obviusly adding the constant secrecy of the discovery of Lady Whistledown, that has a role of Narrator throught the chapters.

This season is the introduction to this world, rich in drama, based in books we can assume what the next seasons will be about. Focusing in different characters, closing the cycle of those protagonist presented in each edition. They introduced to us some characters that are expected to be in the next seasons, but they not go further into their stories or lives, but they tell us enough to be interested in them.

Talking about aesthetic, we have this aesthetic very influenced by XIX century, having an enviroment and clothing rich in color palettes, cloth, and styles that are different and 'exclusive' to each family, or different to every person in the series, the exuberance predominates, remember we are talking about the high society and it was very very excentric, corsets, puffy dresses, stunning clothes and colors it's what we'll see. It's also important to highlight the construction of the color palettes in the scenes and frames, it's something beautiful for the spectator, the color distribution in the scenary it's just wonderful.

Conclusion

Bridgerton it's a Tv Series, certainly romantic with drama, they also omit the racial differentiation that they had in the real life, leaving and always repeating the message of "The Love conquers all".

Bridgerton es una serie dramática ambientada en la alta sociedad de londres a principios del siglo XIX, nos relata la historia de daphne y como ha sido preparada desde que nació para el gran día, dicho momento es su debut en la gran y codiciada sociedad británica con el fin de buscar un esposo.

Esta serie fu creada por Chris Van Dusen y producida por Shonda Rhimes, la creadora del gran éxito en pantalla greys anatomy, por ahora solo contamos con una temporada de bridgerton, pero ya sabemos que vienen muchas cosas mas sobre esta destacada familia.

Resumen de la Serie

Desde el primer capitulo de esta aclamada serie eres introducido en este mundo que no llegamos a conocer de una manera presencial, que es la alta sociedad, los títulos, los bailes, los parámetros que se debían cumplir, y muchísimas cosas mas. Vemos como los hermanos bridgerton guardan tantas cosas entre ellos, como anthony desea el no tener ningún titulo para poder estar con la persona que desea, observamos a eloise siendo increíblemente infeliz con el papel que le toca desarrollar en su vida en el cual ella no tiene decisión, conocemos un poco de benedict y su aspiración a realizarse como artista pero que en su fuero interno sabe que simplemente no se podrá cumplir. Y por ultimo tenemos a daphne que su objetivo es conseguir un esposo pero a la vez el amor, dos cosas que no están muy ligadas en esta época, nos muestran los diferentes tipos de matrimonio y lo desdichada que pueden llegar a ser las mujeres.

También nos encontramos con lady whistledown, un personaje bastante interesante que tiene una manera muy peculiar de decir las cosas, y nos preguntamos en la serie ¿quién puede ser?, quien tiene el valor de sacar al aire todos los secretos que guarda esta institución.

Tenemos a Simon quien será el interés romántico de daphne en esta historia, nos dan un vistazo de lo que fue su infancia y como el maltrato del anterior duque de hastings definió lo que hoy en dia es, muestran a este personaje y de inmediato sentimos que el mundo está mejor sin el, un hombre que en su afán de tener un heredero mató a su esposa, notamos como su concepto de la perfección no es llenado por su hijo y al final como lo desecha porque no cumple sus requerimientos y esto nos enseña que los hombres tampoco lo tenían completamente fácil.

Opinión

La serie en esta primera temporada muestra una tónica totalmente dramática, se espera que se siga manteniendo así, aunque ahonda un poco en las costumbres de la época, los modales, y los acontecimientos de aquella alta sociedad, realmente lo que vivimos es una historia romántica a través de Daphne y Simon principalmente ya que son la pareja objetivo de los capítulos presentados.

Muestra todo tipo de escenas que nos hacen vivir y desvivir junto a los personajes y obviamente añadiendo la incógnita constante del descubrimiento de Whistledown, que hace su papel de Narradora a lo largo de los capítulos.

Esta temporada es la carta de introducción a un mundo rico en drama, basados en libros podemos suponer de que irán las siguientes temporadas, enfocándose en distintos personajes, cerrando el ciclo o la historia de esos protagonistas con cada edición. Nos introducen a todos que suponemos que seguirán en las próximas ediciones pero no ahondan demasiado en sus vidas o en sus historias, pero nos involucran lo suficiente para interesarnos por ellos.

En cuanto a la estética, tenemos una estética muy influenciada obviamente por la época en que se encuentran, teniendo un ambiente y un vestuario rico en paletas de colores, telas y estilos correspondientes inclusive a cada familia o distintivo a cada persona que se presenta en la serie, la exuberancia predomina, ya que hablamos de la alta sociedad de esos tiempos, corsés, vestidos pomposos, telas y colores despampanantes es lo que veremos a lo largo. También es importante decir que la construcción por color de las escenas es algo rico de ver para el espectador, sus paletas y sus distribuciones a lo largo de las escenas es algo maravilloso.

Conclusión

Bridgerton es una serie si bien es cierto romántica con su toque de drama, nos asoma como hubiese sido sin esa diferencia racial que caracterizaba la época, dejando el mensaje que te repiten a lo largo de la serie y que quieren que tengas en mente “El amor lo conquista todo”.
