SourceAprovechando estos días "libres" he podido ver unas cuantas películas y es que ya hacia un buen rato que sentarme unas cuantas horas frente a la pantalla era tarea difícil pero de vez en cuando distraer la mente un poco no cae para nada mal. Aprovecho la ocasión para desearles felices fiestas y que compartan en familia lo más posible.
Hoy les traigo la reseña y análisis de la película más reciente que he visto. Trata de un mundo apocalíptico en el que la humanidad ha desencadenado finalmente la tercera guerra mundial. Un buen argumento para compartir en estas fechas no? xd. La verdad es que quería compartir mi ultima publicación por este año en la comunidad y como aún no he visto una producción navideña (al menos no recientemente) pues no quise prolongar mas la edición de un nuevo post.
Como ya saben me gustan esas películas raras que se salen de lo común y que tienen una idea interesante de fondo. Siempre trato de asegurarme bien que las directrices del film se acerquen mucho a mis gustos pues no me gusta pasar tantas horas sin "aprender algo". Revisando recomendaciones de películas distopicas encontré "Equilibrium".
De antemano les digo que el argumento principal me pareció atrapante pero ya el desarrollo como tal de la historia no me llamó tanto la atención. En las recomendaciones alardeaban mucho del papel que protagonizó Christian Bale y conociendo el calibre de este actor me dije a mi mismo que debía ser una buena película.
En realidad si, es una película bien hecha pero como les digo tengo ciertas "emociones encontradas". Y precisamente este largometraje va de eso, de las emociones.
Hablando un poco más en detalle de Equilibrium...
Debemos situarnos en un futuro alternativo, según la historia la humanidad a principios del siglo XXI ha desencadenado la tercera guerra mundial dejando a su paso la máxima destrucción y caos por doquier. Y peor aún, según los análisis es muy posible que una cuarta guerra tenga lugar en los venideros años lo cual acabaría por completo con la civilización tal y como la conocemos.
En este punto tan complejo que la humanidad está viviendo una facción totalitaria decide asumir las riendas del planeta y empieza a ejecutar algo así como una "purga", pero lo curioso de todo este genocidio es su basamento. En este nuevo orden mundial se pretende erradicar todas y cada una de las emociones, sementinos.
Este nuevo modelo de gobierno asegura que si la humanidad consigue el despojo total de su propia naturaleza la paz y la libertad estarán aseguradas dejando así a las guerras en los recuerdos que eventualmente serán olvidados.
Y es que esa idea inicial fue la que detonó mi interés por ver la película, es algo que tiene cierta lógica, muy retorcido pero que abre la posibilidad de crear una historia nutrida de un sentido más amplio.
Por supuesto, en esta hora y cuarenta minutos constantemente se hace hincapié en que la propia naturaleza humana ha sido la culpable de que a lo largo de la historia se hayan tenido tantos episodios catastróficos. Esto se pudiera cuestionar,¿realmente el ser humano es malo por naturaleza?.
En el film veremos que todo intento de creatividad será aplastado, como por ejemplo la música, la literatura, el arte en general. De hecho, me impactó mucho una de las escenas iniciales en la que se quema la pintura original de La Gioconda dando a entender que este nuevo sistema basado en el totalitarismo cuya ideología busca reducir el intelecto humano a la mínima expresión.
Ahora bien, los medios que utilizan para lograr ese objetivo es más que radical pues "o te adaptas o te matamos". Hay un grupo especializado que hace este trabajo sucio el cual se denomina: "Clérigos de Grammaton" un escuadrón especializado en matar básicamente. Algo un tanto paradójico pues la primicia de este régimen es mantener el orden y la paz evitando a toda costa una futura guerra. Como podrán apreciar "el fin justifica los medios".
Para mantener a la población controlada, el pueblo es sometido a usar una droga que suprime cualquier tipo de sentimiento. Las personas deben inyectarse diariamente esta sustancia para evitar la ira, la felicidad, el odio, la empatía, etc. Este mismo medicamento crea el efecto en las personas de no querer alterar el Statu quo porque literalmente, si te sales del esquema que los superiores han diseñado para ti puede que termines muerto. Por ejemplo, las cosas están ordenadas de una manera tan especifica que todos comparten el mismo estilo, la ropa,ritmo de vida, incluso es ilegal organizar tu casa de una manera creativa o diferente a la de los demás.
La rebelión
Como en toda escena distopica, la anarquía es un factor incontenible. Por muy cerrado que sea el sistema siempre existirán esos cabos sueltos, ese otro bando que se opone a los ideales de un régimen totalmente autoritario.
Y de eso va la película prácticamente. Debo decir que me agrada la idea pero se tomaron demasiado tiempo en esto. La mayor parte de la película se fue en escenas de acción efervescentes que si, en cierta forma entretienen un poco pero dejaron de lado el argumento principal o por lo menos pienso que se puedo profundizar un poco más.
Volviendo al desarrollo de los acontecimientos, nuestro protagonista quien es una maquina asesina "prodigiosa" empieza a mostrar señales de humanidad pues por alguna razón decide no tomar la medicina y con ello el efecto de control poco a poco se va desvaneciendo. Esto desde luego es un guiño de la naturaleza humana, tarde o temprano siempre saldrá a la luz, no se puede contener.
Este agente eventualmente se encontrará con personas como el y posteriormente pasará a formar parte de la rebelión cuyo objetivo es acabar con el régimen.
En cuanto a los números de esta película...
Fue estrenada en el 2002 y hay que decir que no ha envejecido tan bien como otras películas lo han hecho, así que si, si estás dispuesto a verla tienes que asumir que los efectos especiales y toda la ambientación están un poquito pasadas, en otras palabras, la ambientación es algo así como muy retro-futurista.
En cuanto a las finanzas, los números son un tanto drásticos ya que se invirtieron unos 20 millones de dolares y solo se recaudaron 5.3 millones lo cual deja mucho que decir en cuanto a la receptividad de este largometraje.
En cualquier caso me parece que es un film que está bien, con sus altos y bajos creo que para esa fecha se hicieron las cosas como se debe pero mi única critica seria que el argumento de los sentimientos debió haber sido más abordado y reducir la acción desenfrenada.

Taking advantage of these "free" days I have been able to watch a few movies and it has been a while since I had to sit for a few hours in front of the screen, but from time to time distracting the mind a little does not hurt at all. I take this opportunity to wish you happy holidays and that you share as much as possible with your family.
Today I bring you the review and analysis of the most recent movie I have seen. It is about an apocalyptic world in which humanity has finally unleashed the third world war. A good plot to share at this time of the year, isn't it? xd. The truth is that I wanted to share my last post for this year in the community and since I haven't seen a Christmas production yet (at least not recently) I didn't want to prolong the edition of a new post.
As you already know I like those rare movies that are out of the ordinary and have an interesting idea behind them. I always try to make sure that the guidelines of the film are very close to my tastes because I don't like to spend so many hours without "learning something". Reviewing recommendations of dystopian films I found "Equilibrium".
Beforehand I tell you that the main plot seemed to me catching but the development of the story as such did not call my attention so much. In the recommendations they boasted a lot about the role played by Christian Bale and knowing the caliber of this actor I said to myself that it must be a good movie.
Actually yes, it is a well made film but as I say I have certain "mixed emotions". And that's precisely what this feature film is about, emotions.
Speaking a little more in detail about Equilibrium...
We must place ourselves in an alternative future, according to history humanity in the early twenty-first century has unleashed the third world war leaving in its wake the maximum destruction and chaos everywhere. And worse, according to the analysis it is very possible that a fourth war will take place in the coming years which would completely end civilization as we know it.
At this complex point that humanity is living a totalitarian faction decides to take the reins of the planet and begins to execute something like a "purge", but the curious thing about all this genocide is its basis. In this new world order it is intended to eradicate each and every one of the emotions, stallions.
This new model of government assures that if humanity achieves the total dispossession of its own nature, peace and freedom will be assured, thus leaving wars in memories that will eventually be forgotten.
And it is that initial idea that triggered my interest in watching the film, it is something that has a certain logic, very twisted but that opens the possibility of creating a story nurtured by a broader sense.
Of course, in this hour and forty minutes it is constantly emphasized that human nature itself has been to blame for so many catastrophic episodes throughout history. This could be questioned, is the human being really evil by nature?
In the film we will see that every attempt at creativity will be crushed, such as music, literature, art in general. In fact, I was very struck by one of the opening scenes in which the original painting of La Gioconda is burned, implying that this new system based on totalitarianism whose ideology seeks to reduce human intellect to the minimum expression.
Now, the means they use to achieve this goal is more than radical because "either you adapt or we kill you". There is a specialized group that does this dirty work which is called: "Clerics of Grammaton" a squadron specialized in killing basically. Something a bit paradoxical since the main goal of this regime is to maintain order and peace avoiding at all costs a future war. As you can see, "the end justifies the means".
To keep the population under control, the people are subjected to the use of a drug that suppresses any kind of feeling. People must inject themselves daily with this substance to avoid anger, happiness, hatred, empathy, etc. This same drug creates the effect on people of not wanting to alter the status quo because literally, if you step out of the scheme that the superiors have designed for you you may end up dead. For example, things are arranged in such a specific way that everyone shares the same style, clothing, pace of life, it is even illegal to arrange your house in a creative or different way than others.
The rebellion
As in any dystopian scene, anarchy is an unstoppable factor. No matter how closed the system is, there will always be those loose ends, that other side that opposes the ideals of a totally authoritarian regime.
And that's pretty much what the film is about. I must say I like the idea but they took too much time on this. Most of the movie was spent in effervescent action scenes that yes, in a way entertain a bit but they left out the main plot or at least I think it could go a little deeper.
Returning to the development of events, our protagonist who is a "prodigious" killing machine begins to show signs of humanity because for some reason he decides not to take the medicine and thus the control effect gradually fades. This of course is a wink of human nature, sooner or later it will always come out, it cannot be contained.
This agent will eventually meet people like him and subsequently become part of the rebellion whose aim is to bring down the regime.
As for the numbers of this movie...
It was released in 2002 and it has to be said that it hasn't aged as well as other movies have, so yes, if you're willing to watch it you have to assume that the special effects and the whole setting are a little bit dated, in other words, the setting is kind of very retro-futuristic.
In terms of finances, the numbers are a bit drastic as they invested about $20 million and only grossed $5.3 million which leaves a lot to be said about the receptivity of this feature film.
In any case I think it's a good film, with its ups and downs I think that for that date things were done as they should but my only criticism would be that the argument of feelings should have been more addressed and reduce the unbridled action.

Siempre he pensado que este tipo de pensamiento sobre las emociones humanas tiene una pequeña parte de razón, y me gusta ese tipo de razonamiento que nos hace cuestionar, si el mundo seria diferente si no fuéramos tan sentimentales, pero también entra esa parte sensible que por naturaleza forma parte del ser humano, porque si no fuera así no existiría ni la compasión ni el perdón. Tal vez el mundo seria otro pero seriamos seres sin emociones ni sentimientos asi como las maquinas.
Esta película me recuerda un poco a un anime que se llama Inuyasha, donde el villano se burlaba de los buenos porque se dejaban doblegar por el sentimentalismo y las emociones de los humanos ya que uno de los demonios era mitad humano y es parte de él no lo dejaba ser completamente malo y asesino como lo era el villano, pero esa es la gran diferencia, asi que me encanta ese tipo de cuestionamientos, excelente tu reseña, saludos feliz navidad.

Equilibrium es fascinante, recuerdo que hubo promociones en dónde la hacían ver cómo si era parte de The Matrix, pero a pesar de la vestimenta de varios de sus personajes y de esa lucha entre una población controlado y la existencia de una rebelión, por supuesto tienen sus diferencias.
Recuerdo que cuando la ví, quería ver la típica película de acción con muchas escenas desenfrenadas, de peleas y disparos, lo típico del género, pero me encontré con un film que tiene una buena historia de fondo, uno como el que ya dije sobre la imposición del control, la opresión de sentir y expresar sentimientos y lo mejor es que quiereme imponen esas canciones no las practican y usan un engaño, una imagen para mantenerse en el poder; una historia como dices, del 2002 aunque sigue siendo muy actual.
La última parte,el acto final es todo lo que esperaba y se convirtió en un gran complemento; siempre he creído que este film debió tener más reconocimiento
Si es verdad se parece mucho a Matrix, de hecho al ver algunas imágenes del protagonista me confundia con Neo jajaja. Tienen sus similitudes, ambas firman parte de las películas estrenadas en los primeros años del nuevo milenio y por supuesto la temática es parecida. Gracias por pasar, feliz navidad!
