SourceLa ciencia ficción es un género que sin duda alguna capta la atención de numerosos cinéfilos y al mismo tiempo causa el efecto contrario pues las historias que se desarrollan en estos contextos futuristas parecen estar demasiado alejados del mundo real.
Independientemente la postura que tomes una cosa es cierta y es que muchas de estas tramas surrealistas han servido para darnos una idea de como será (o por lo menos se intenta) el mundo dentro de X años.

El día de hoy precisamente, les traigo un análisis de lo que para mi es una de las series más innovadoras de los últimos años en cuanto a ciencia ficción se refiere, "una de esas que no es para todo publico", con crudos argumentos filosóficos, éticos y toda una serie de elementos dignos del debate moral y científico. Hoy hablaremos de "Westworld"
Espero que el nombre no los confunda porque si, esta es una serie de ciencia y ficción y no del lejano oeste como su nombre pueda sugerir aunque ya puntualizamos eso.
En los últimos años HBO ha tenido como insignia más destacada la famosísima franquicia de "Juego de Tronos" pero, dejando a un lado esta, son muy pocas las producciones que han causado revuelo o por lo menos no hay una que le haga frente. Westworld es una de esas que en mi opinión ha pasado bastante desapercibida teniendo un increíble potencial (por lo menos la primera temporada).
Ahora bien, ¿De que va "Wesstworld". Basta con ver el intro de un episodio. Ese primer contacto con la serie me dio una sensación de suspenso terrible, las imágenes presentadas en el opening son extremadamente sombrías, extrañas si se quiere...
En concreto, esta historia se ubica en un contexto altamente futurista. Una compañía tecnológica ha desarrollado una especie de "parque de diversiones" con temática del lejano oeste (de allí su nombre) en el que millonarios asisten para cumplir sus fantasías más extremas. La experiencia de los usuarios va desde cabalgar un caballo, recorrer el paisaje, beber, tener sexo descontrolado e incluso matar.
Hasta ahora esto suena todo muy cliché la verdad pero lo que hace interesante esta historia es que dentro del parque existen los "anfitriones" una especie de humanoides creados por la compañía tecnológica y cuya misión es garantizar la satisfacción de los clientes en todos los sentidos.
Será muy habitual ver a las personas que visitan el parque hacer barbaridades con los anfitriones pues al fin y al cabo estos seres sintéticos son solo eso ¿no?, pues...
Este es uno de los debates que pretende levantar la serie y es que con el avance de la tecnología hay una remota posibilidad de que algún día seamos capaces de crear vida o como lo plantea mejor en el programa: "crear conciencia". Westworld es para mi toda una obra maestra pues se pasea por todos esos dilemas filosóficos creándote un montón de disyuntivas que te fríen el cerebro.
Ahora bien, adentrándonos un poco más en esta historia (alerta de spoilers), el primer episodio nos crea una atmósfera muy pero muy enigmática, esa típica sensación cuando ves algo "normal" pero te crea cierta suspicacia y concluyes: "aquí pasa algo". En los primeros escenarios veremos como los usuarios intercaran con los anfitriones y muchas de las temáticas del parque se irán repitiendo una y otra y otra vez.
Así es, hay un "guión" definido en el parque y este se irá repitiendo indefinidamente hasta que el personal cambie dicha temática. Lo curioso es que los personajes de cada historia (anfitriones) serán los mismos y de sufrir algún daño físico estos son reparados rápidamente. Así mismo, los recuerdos de estos anfitriones son borrados y solo se quedan con las memorias básica de sus personajes.
Claro, el creador de estos "seres" desarrolló una programación tan sofisticada que parece haber logrado crear (aparentemente) una conciencia real, pensante, con propósito y claro, todo va a girar en torno a este hecho pues como ya puedes haber intuido, esta conciencia se saldrá de control y un conjunto de acontecimientos caóticos tendrá lugar en el parque.

Me parece que no están definidos los típicos bandos de "buenos y malos" pues como veremos en la serie cada lado tiene sus argumentos de vida y sería un tanto difícil inclinarse por un determinado bando (Humanos-anfitriones). A lo lago de los episodios tendremos muchos giros impactantes en la trama: doblew agentes, engaños, sorpresas, todo un cóctel de drama y acción.
En la primera temporada vamos a ver el marcado estilo de uno de los hermanos Nolan. Jonathan Nolan será el responsable de tejer esta interesante historia por lo que no te extrañe ver acontecimientos del pasado, presente y futuro mezclados en una compleja narrativa.
En cuanto al reparto el mítico Anthony Hopkins tomando uno de los papeles clave en la serie y no es por ser un fanboy pero la verdad es que a su edad es sorprendente como mantiene la calidad del protagonismo. Más adelante en la serie, concretamente en la tercera temporada tendremos a Aaron Paul haciendo acto de presencia por lo que la serie está bastante bien cubierta en lo que respecta a actuación.
En cuanto a mi criterio objetivo pienso que el fuerte de la serie está en la primera temporada. La segunda mantiene la esencia pero si es verdad que decae un poco. Finalmente la tercera temporada se desvirtúa demasiado de los primeros episodios que repito, son una obra maestra. La cuarta temporada está en camino y veremos si es posible retomar el rumbo de esta prolífica producción.
Como curiosidad el intro de Westworld está escrito por el mismo autor de juego de tronos, el Alemán Ramin Djawadi, de allí su marcada similitud.
SourceWestworld es una serie extremadamente compleja y a mi me ha servido para entablar interesantes conversaciones con amigos del tema dominante en la historia. Te hace plantear algo tan elemental como que eso de la conciencia y si realmente somos los dueño de nuestra realidad. Esta es mi recomendación el día de hoy y espero puedas darle un vistazo.

Regardless of the position you take, one thing is certain and that is that many of these surreal plots have served to give us an idea of what the world will be like (or at least try to be) in X years.
Today I bring you an analysis of what for me is one of the most innovative series of recent years in terms of science fiction, "one of those that is not for all audiences", with crude philosophical and ethical arguments and a whole series of elements worthy of moral and scientific debate. Today we will talk about "Westworld".
I hope the name doesn't confuse you because yes, this is a science fiction series and not about the Wild West as its name might suggest although we already pointed that out.
SourceIn recent years HBO has had as its most prominent flagship the famous "Game of Thrones" franchise but, leaving aside this, there are very few productions that have caused a stir or at least there is not one that stands up to it. Westworld is one of those that in my opinion has gone rather unnoticed having an incredible potential (at least the first season).
SourceNow, what is "Wesstworld" about. Just watch the intro of one episode. That first contact with the series gave me a feeling of terrible suspense, the images presented in the opening are extremely gloomy, strange if you will....
Specifically, this story is set in a highly futuristic context. A technology company has developed a sort of Wild West-themed "amusement park" (hence the name) where millionaires attend to fulfill their most extreme fantasies. The user experience ranges from riding a horse, riding through the landscape, drinking, having uncontrolled sex and even killing.
So far this all sounds very cliché, but what makes this story interesting is that inside the park there are "hosts" a kind of humanoids created by the technology company and whose mission is to ensure customer satisfaction in every way.
It will be very common to see people who visit the park doing barbarities with the hosts because after all these synthetic beings are just that, aren't they, well?
This is one of the debates that the series aims to raise and is that with the advancement of technology there is a remote possibility that someday we will be able to create life or as best put in the program: "create consciousness". Westworld is for me a masterpiece because it goes through all these philosophical dilemmas creating a lot of dilemmas that fry your brain.
Now, going a little deeper into this story (spoiler alert), the first episode creates a very, very enigmatic atmosphere, that typical feeling when you see something "normal" but it makes you suspicious and you conclude: "something is going on here". In the first scenarios we will see how the users will interact with the hosts and many of the themes of the park will be repeated again and again and again.

That's right, there is a defined "script" in the park and this will be repeated indefinitely until the staff changes the theme. The curious thing is that the characters of each story (hosts) will be the same and if they suffer any physical damage they are quickly repaired. Likewise, the memories of these hosts are erased and only the basic memories of their characters remain.
SourceOf course, the creator of these "beings" developed such sophisticated programming that he seems to have managed to create (apparently) a real, thinking, purposeful consciousness and of course, everything will revolve around this fact because as you may have already guessed, this consciousness will get out of control and a set of chaotic events will take place in the park.
It seems to me that the typical sides of "good guys and bad guys" are not defined because as we will see in the series each side has its arguments of life and it would be somewhat difficult to lean towards a certain side (Humans-hosts). Throughout the episodes we will have many shocking twists in the plot: double agents, deceptions, surprises, a whole cocktail of drama and action.
In the first season we are going to see the marked style of one of the Nolan brothers. Jonathan Nolan will be responsible for weaving this interesting story so do not be surprised to see events of the past, present and future mixed in a complex narrative.
As for the cast the legendary Anthony Hopkins taking one of the key roles in the series and not to be a fanboy but the truth is that at his age it is surprising how he maintains the quality of the lead. Later in the series, specifically in the third season we will have Aaron Paul making an appearance so the series is pretty well covered as far as acting is concerned.
SourceAs far as my objective criteria I think the strength of the series is in the first season. The second one keeps the essence but it is true that it declines a little. Finally the third season deviates too much from the first episodes that I repeat, are a masterpiece. The fourth season is on its way and we will see if it is possible to resume the course of this prolific production.
As a curiosity the intro of Westworld is written by the same author of Game of Thrones, the German Ramin Djawadi, hence its marked similarity.
Westworld is an extremely complex series and has served me to engage in interesting conversations with friends of the dominant theme of the story. It makes you ask yourself something as elementary as what is consciousness and if we are really the owners of our reality. This is my recommendation today and I hope you can take a look at it.

Excelente serie de HBO! te atrapa desde el primer episodio, te preguntas que nos hace humanos y de que son capaces algunos cuando sus acciones no tienen consecuencias, es una gran recomendación.
Me encanto su publicación, y tienes toda la razón en cuanto al cambio entre la primera temporada que es una obra maestra mientras las demás solo cumplen con el objetivo de entretener... creo que la cuarta temporada la tendrá difícil para darle continuidad y atrapar a los ya amantes de la serie.
Tengo esperanza en la cuarta temporada aunque la tercera dejó mucha comisión al plantear ese universo expandido. La verdad es que lo tienen difícil para retomar el camino aunque allí estaré para verla y como dices tú, por lo menos nos va a entretener un poco. !PIZZA

The fourth season started last Sunday.
The first season of this series was wonderful. Dolores became one of my favorite characters. I loved Dolores as much as I loved William. The whole story, told in different timelines, was what I loved about the first season. Finding out who the Man in Black was.
The second season I liked, it followed the course of events that happened at the end of the first season.
The third season underwent a change, but I think it was driven by the many complaints from people who said they didn't understand it and decided to include more action scenes and drop the existential dilemmas.
Now, the fourth season has just started, but I think they have taken up the style of the first season, I even think the development is in different timelines.
There was a film adaptation many years ago, I saw it on TV when I was a kid and then there was another movie, it was a sequel, it was called futureworld. I saw that one on VHS.
Agree, finding out who William was at the end was extremely awesome in my opinion that's the key of the first season.
Yeah the third season was too much action and I kind of don't like that plot twist but it is what it is.
Westworld debe ser una de las mejores series que he visto; la primera temporada es el despertar, la segunda es la revolución y la tercera es saber quién en realidad es el enemigo y todavía espero que descubrir sobre la cuarta temporada la cual no quiero comparar a ninguna aunque creo que sí, hay un claro parecido a lo que fue la primera, pero tal vez tenga la simpleza de lo que fue la tercera que no fue para nada difícil de entender.
No lo pude haber descrito mejor. Ha entrado en mi top de series favoritas pero me gustaría ver cómo finaliza esta historia para establecer el veredicto final
