The Hive Engagement League
This league is not based around financial rewards and relates to engagement.
Everyone currently on my master list has a chance here, including those powering down or dealing in delegations over the past couple of weeks. Only the top 100 scores are shown.
The score is made up from a simple formula which uses the following types of engagement:
- Posts (P)
- Comments (C)
- Number of people spoken to (PS)
- Comments outside of own posts (CO)
- Unique Author posts (UA)
- Comments - replies to replies - depth > 2 (CR)
- Comments - length in characters (CL)
- Up-votes to others (V)
- Up-votes to different authors (UV)
- Self-votes - No minus score but no bonus HIVE (SV)
Note: Copy/Paste comments will be excluded!

Being in the top half of the list is a respectable place to be. Having OCD sponsor the Shadow Hunters Community for their Boost Contest this week pushed me into being extremely busy making comments. Just wait until you are sponsored - you will move up the EL list, too!
HomeEdders has already been sponsored, I used the community account for most of the commenting, though, rather than trying to swap between the two. I'm probably commenting more than ever, with Stock Images and Natural Medicine in the mix as well, it's just that with it also through the community accounts, they won't count towards my personal tally. Hence, why I know I'm not going to make the top. I'm not worried, though, the communities mean more, ultimately. π
The community mods do most of the commenting from the Community accounts for both Shadow Hunters and Feathered Friends. I really appreciate not having to keep switching around!

Not a bad week, postings seem to be down a bit along with votes, but with the price decline people may be watching their vote power a bit more carefully. I know I have had to go back to more cautious voting, just when I was getting used to some comment votes, i still plan on them, but just have to be careful about letting dust set in.
No, I do not. Nowadays I know that my upvote is basically worthless (it is currently worth about $0.003), and I do not even care about it. I upvote what I like. Except posts that I consider overvoted, such as this one with a current pending payout of $163.29. Most people do not earn that amount in a month on Hive
By the way, my pension-like monthly income is approximately $250 USD, so this is a lot of money for me.
I only vote on the things and the people I like also. I do not concern myself with the amount of the pay-out if I read and like I vote for me it is that simple.
I still would like to vote on more comments, that is where watching the price for me is important as I do not want to re-contribute to the reward pool I would rather provide a reward from the pool to people.
I know in many place people use their rewards to aid in living their life, for me I am retired and while the extra Hive would be nice it is not really needed by me.
Comparing wage and income in various parts of the world means not a lot to me. I know how much my house payment is, my monthly electric bill is, and my internet bill is, I also know in some places it is a lot lot cheaper than where I live, at the end of the day it matters not where one lives it seems like most people on earth live one pay check away from living on the streets of the city they reside in.
So I save and power up almost all of my Hive so I have slowly built from 0 HP to what I have today, and I use it to reward content and people I have found on Hive. It matters not to me if a person is rich in Hive Power or poor in Hive power, I just vote what I like.

It's much easier to escape dust at present and following the next fork, get ready for the comment farmers (and hopefully more votes on comments).
It is pretty easy to see those out just commenting in hopes of a vote so I am not so sure I need to worry about them, There will I am sure be attempts by people to game the self vote comment vote, but they will be caught out.
A nice stable price of above $0.60 and I can give out comment votes with out running out of mana to soon, so I am hoping we will be staying above that now that we made it back through the first price dip when we hit almost a dollar.
