"The mother of all leaks" took place this past week, here's the damage, how to check if you're included and change your password!
Happy Saturday Lions, with news spreading of a massive e-mail, phone number, and password leak this past week there's never been a better time to consider changing some of your passwords.
This is possibly the biggest leak in the history of the internet and reportedly includes the likes of 8.4 Billion,...with a B, email addresses, phone numbers, and passwords.
The Damage Is Done
What's been dubbed as "RockYou2021" in an ode to the original 2009 "RockYou" leak includes a text file with billions of pieces of personal data dating back several years.
The latest leaks contains data from the original RockYou leak, in addition to data from several years’ worth of other previous attacks. RockYou2021 is being called the largest collection of compromised account information ever. Consumers are advised to change their passwords. www.theladders.com/

the website https://haveibeenpwned.com/ features an easy to use tool that will tell you in the click of a button if your email address has been leaked at any point in time.
Go check your account and let me know if your email address is safu or not?

Oh FFS 2 of my emails were in the breachcomp2.0 leak. One of them is my main email but the one I use for crypto stuff is OK.
Apparently, "The Breachcomp2.0 data dump is the largest of its kind, exposing 3.2 billion username-password combos on the dark web."
If your email shows up in the tool "Unfortunately, information from this data leak has circulated across the dark web by now, and hackers might already have access to your past logins and passwords."
Time to change my passwords again it seems. Crap! I've got so many better things to do with my time.

Only passwords. And the .txt is from many lists. Nothing special leaked.
I mentioned in the post it contains the original 2009 RockYou list. a list of passwords on their own would be pretty useless.
