The inception of Leo stemmed from a long-standing ambition to tokenize the Steemit ecosystem and elevate the platform for investment discussions. The founder expressed their disappointment when certain features, like SMTs (Smart Media Tokens), were delayed. This frustration transformed into opportunity when they began exploring tokenization with Steem Engine, culminating in the launch of Leo Token nearly from the get-go.
Initially a one-person venture, the founder worked closely with family and friends for support, though they remain the driving force behind most of the initiatives. Since launching, the community aspect has blossomed with the establishment of a vibrant Discord channel, exhibiting camaraderie among Steemians.
