Part 2/9:
Matt played an acoustic version of some songs, which Beato found intriguing. He inquired about new material, prompting Matt to perform the beginning of a chorus with a compelling line: "Feels like Carolina." Beato was immediately struck and suggested working on that song. Despite never having produced country music before, Beato and Parmalee soon collaborated, finishing the song quickly and recording four tracks in total. He mixed them and sent the finished product to the band, but then silence followed for three years.
