The research project provided an extensive database and a better understanding of persistent jet trails and associated air traffic patterns. However, it also underscored the complexities involved in comprehensively studying this phenomenon, illustrating the necessity for ongoing investigation into the causes and implications of persistent jet trails. While conclusively linking air traffic movements to the trails remains inconclusive, this study certainly contributed valuable insights into an evolving subject that continues to captivate public interest.
