One of Wood's more controversial claims is that when the South and North Towers went down, they did not do so in a traditional sense. She argues that conventional explanations such as structural failure or controlled demolition fail to account for the manner in which the buildings seemingly turned to dust.
Interestingly, Wood mentions that materials like steel and concrete were almost wholly vaporized rather than simply broken into rubble. This puts forth a notion she calls "justification", defined as the transformation of solid matter into powder in mid-air, distinguishing this explanation from pulverization or vaporization as traditionally understood.
