Part 7/10:
Sun Tzu’s principles extend beyond direct combat, influencing large-scale strategic deception. During World War II, the Allies employed elaborate misinformation campaigns to deceive Adolf Hitler about the timing and location of the Normandy invasion—D-Day. Creating false units, intercepting and manipulating enemy communications, and even planting dummy equipment, the Allies convinced the Germans that the main invasion would occur elsewhere. This division of German forces, facilitated by Sun Tzu’s tactics, was instrumental in the eventual success of the Normandy landings and the overall Allied victory.
