A Life Shaped by Adversity and Resilience
Growing up on the Navajo reservation in northern Arizona, Cyan experienced early exposure to a rich cultural environment that she describes as astonishingly beautiful and unique—yet overshadowed by personal hardship. She identifies herself as white, a minority in that setting, which provided her with a rare perspective on being “the other.”
