Part 6/10:

The Great Pyramid has a turbulent history shaped by historical events such as natural disasters, wars, and even the rise of tourism. In the early 1200s, Egyptian scholar Abdal Latif Al-Baghdadi remarked on the pyramid's casing stones being intact. By the late 14th century, however, destructive forces—possibly due to earthquakes that damaged Cairo—spurred the use of the pyramid’s materials as a quarry for reconstruction efforts.

As time progressed, descriptions began to emerge of the missing stones atop the pyramid, with references alluding to stones large enough to facilitate the collapse of the original summit structure. By the late 18th century, numerous accounts recorded the structural changes, creating a muddled picture of the pyramid's condition.
